The right rear door on my X is rattling when I hit a bump. The door is not closing tight enough. I can reproduce the noise by just pushing on the door. I don't see any adjustments that I can make.
View 14 RepliesI have an issue with what sounds like the rear deck rattling in my 2010 SE Camry. I can hear it almost every time my back wheels hit any small bump in the road.
I also have subwoofers installed along with dynamat in most of the trunk (just not on the rear deck). This is my main reason for wanting this solved. The rattle is very noticeable when the bass hits in almost every song. Is that where the rattle is coming from?
I've got a 2008 f-250 extra cab. A small bump will cause the rear driver side door to pop open. What I have to do to fix it, I don't want the grandkids falling out.

View 10 RepliesThe rear doors on my super cab rattle like there is no tomorrow. It is the panels rattling. There has been a lot of discussion about the doors and the way they latch being the problem with the typical rattle and cluck doors.
Have to take off the panels to see if they can be dampened in anyway? Where are the fasteners keeping the panel on?
I am about to take the panel off and leave them off. Some days I laugh, some days I cry. My truck has 90K miles on it and they have clanged and banged since day one.
My RX 350 is 5 months old, 8000 miles. It has developed very annoying rattling noises under the rear seat and, sometimes, rear door panels.
View 1 RepliesI just had a heck of a day. I was using my weed whacker to clean up my front yard before the city got on my case- we got a bunch of rain so the desert is oddly very green. Anyway, I was working on the other side of my yard when I hear a sickening, loud pop sound. I turn off the trimmer and go to look at the Ex, thinking a rock somehow hit the door panel pretty hard. No damage. Weird, I think.
As I'm turning around, my eyes glance up to see... my driver's side rear door window in a million pieces being held together by the tint. Holy. Dang. My trimmer kicked up a rock which flew a good 25-30 feet and shattered my door glass.
So, I am planning on ordering a replacement glass online. I's it a very difficult job? I have done window glass before, but just in old trucks and cars- 1960 Falcon, 1969 F100, 1970 F500, 1976 Jaguar XJ-12. Never did a new truck.
I just bought a 2000 ford excursion 7.3. None of the power door locks currently work but the one I am really consented about is the back window that folds up and down. I need to find out how to fix this back window because I can't lock it with the key like the others.

View 7 RepliesThe passenger side rear door will not open. I've tried from the outside handle, inside handle, jerking, pushing, etc. Nothing.
How in the world can I find out and fix the problem if I can't get the door open to get the door panel off??? And yes, I've tried unlocking it...
So far I have not been able to get the rear door open on the driver side. I was able to remove the plastic panel so I could see inside. The cable is attached to the handle, but not the latch mechanism at the bottom of the door. I have searched this and other sites and looked for pics on the internet...no luck yet.
Looking for an image of the latch mechanism for the driver barn door ... something that will hopefully show where the cable attaches and/or how I can manually (no cable attached) open the door.
Also, I am having issues with the door ajar light. I am almost certain that this is from the rear of the truck. Is the sensor for door ajar on the hatch, driver barn door, passenger barn door, more than one?
I need to locate the specs or blueprints of the rear cargo door hinges. Junkyards thus far, are not willing to sell just the hinges.

I can't find a diagram to get a part number. Just not very technical looking things up... looking for a parts diagram or a part#?

View 3 RepliesI have a 2000 F250 super cab and the doors rattle going over bumps. I've seen the weather stripping mod and intend to do this but my drivers side doors are touching at the top. Would this indicate that the busings are shot? With the doors open, when I lift on the outer edge there is no movement in the hinge area. The drives door and drivers side back door actually touch and rub at the top. Any pointers?
View 10 Replies2003 Ex rwd 6.0l 125,000 miles. The complete rear left side door is stuck shut and has been for about 6 months. This is not a side door, but the very back where the lift gate is. I sprayed wd40 in there, nothing. It won't budge. If its a broken cable inside, how to I take off the interior door panel to get to the access holes and actuator on that door or both doors on the tailgate?
View 11 RepliesI have a 2002 Kia Sportage 2WD that sometimes makes a strange noise: Occasionally (not every time) when I go over a bump, I get a noise that sounds like a bunch of light metal being rattled around - almost like a bunch of aluminum pieces sliding around in the back of a pick-up bed. The severity of the bump doesn't seem to matter, and the speed I am going doesn't seem to matter. It is very unpredictable. I have tried driving with the windows open to get a better feel for where the sound is, but I can't tie it down. I did a cursory inspection of the underside of the car, but didn't see anything obviously loose... No, I don't have a bunch of loose aluminum in the back of my Kia!

This issue is a bad vibration that feels like it's coming from the middle of the truck. It starts when I hit a bump and usually goes away when I hit another, but not always. At first I thought it was the road, then the transmission, but now with it starting when I hit a bump, I'm thinking a U-Joint on the driveshaft.
I considered the front axle u-joints but it doesn't matter which wheel I hit the bump with, be it a pot hole or man hole cover or seam in the road.
I'm not sure where to start. I'm doing the trans flush tomorrow and dropping the transfer case to see where that's leaking, so I'll be under there to try and figure it out.
I had a 7" icon installed with reservoir shocks installed. Rides pretty good driving unless I hit a dip or bump. When either of those are steep down or up I have a very hard hit. Could the shocks not have enough travel? I am at a loss to explain except it is a pretty hard contact. It looks like the shocks have about 3-4" of shaft exposed on the shock. Unfortunately I do not think I can post pictures yet.
View 7 RepliesJust experienced the teeth jarring "thud" from going over a speed bump. That was bad. I want to fix the issue right now for cheap. I plan on doing the full blown V/B mod swap out later, but don't want to buy new rubber when my current is nearly new. Dealership wanted ALOT of money for replacement leafs. This is just a temporary temporary measure to stop the slamming.

I really like the shackles for their price. Flip side though, I feel the mini-pack would firm up the ride a tad. My old F-250 rode like a truck, and the X just doesn't.
Are the factory front shocks long enough to support 2" of extension without breaking? I really didn't want to mess with the rear suspension, but she sits pretty level right now and I'm not a fan of the Bulldog look.
For the past week I've been hearing a rattling / thumping noise when I'd go over a bump or hit a pothole. I opened the trunk and it wasn't anything knocking around in there.
Yesterday when I was driving I hit a bump and it sounded even louder, like something rubbing against something. I pulled into a parking lot and looked under the car thinking maybe the muffler was dragging or something, but I didn't see anything. I had my daughter get out of the car and look while I backed up and then forward again. She didn't see anything and the noise had stopped.
I figured I'd try to drive home but as soon as I hit another bump the rubbing noise was back so I pulled over & called for a tow. When the guy looked at it he said it looked like my shock or strut (can't remember which he said). He showed me a hole under the car where the part is supposed to be in, then showed me the part which was currently out of the hole and slanted forward next to my tire. When he pushed on my tire I heard the same noise as when I was driving.
