Is it possible?

View 1 RepliesI have 2001 EX with the 7.3 and my rear vent windows stuck open and I am stumped as to what might be the culprit. There isn't any power getting to the switches in the overhead console.
I replaced the relay 204 in the engine compartment, I believe that is the correct one.
Where the actual fuse is located for this and its number? Because both of them are stuck open not just one side.
How to repair where the roof vents and dome lights go? The headliner is in great shape, but a few of the vents have been pulled out and I would like to fix them.
View 3 RepliesMy electric rear vent windows seem to have a problem opening when the temperature is cold outside. They work almost perfectly when the weather warms up, with the exception of an odd little glitch here and there. Generally summer is good, winter is a no-go. I understand this is a common problem ???
Even at the times when they don't open I can clearly hear an electronic click near the back pillars, with each push of the control switch up front, so I assume the current is making it at least that far and there is no problem with the wiring up to that point.
I have recently removed two used actuators (R+L) from a donor vehicle, and will likely be installing those into my van in the very near future. Although I believe they came from a close but different year windstar which did not have the exact same "rivets" through the window as mine does. External arms etc that can be seen do look identical as does the pivot ball.
#1. is replacement of the actuators a likely solution to the problem ?
#2. by chance, is it merely just an issue of dirty connections with my present actuators ?
#3. can / should I do anything such use dielectric grease on the connections of either my present ones or the donor ones upon replacement, to alleviate future recurrence ?
I installed a rear camera on my truck and when I tested it the picture is upside down. I tried taking the camera apart and flipping it, but to no avail. Only problem with flipping it over is the plastic housing will only let you rotate it down so much. I basically took some pliers and pealed the plastic down so I could get a better view. This is the camera I bought. License Mount Color CCD Rear View Backup Camera Tag
View 12 RepliesMy passenger side rear vent window is leaking and I was gonna redo the weather stripping but I can't figure how to release the latch from the motor. It looks like a ball and socket type connection with a little wire clip in it, but I tried pulling it out and it wouldn't come out very far, and tried pushing in in more but no luck. I don't want to break the darn thing for sure.
View 9 RepliesI recently purchased a 2001 XLT, 5.4L RWD. It has the rear windows with actuators installed. The upper console has the vent switches to open and close them. They don't work. I removed the upper console and the vent switches have no wires running to them and no visible wire harnesses that have been cut or removed.
With the headliner removed, I chased the wires from the actuators (white with brown/yellow with brown on the right and white with blue/yellow with blue on the left). These four wires meet up over the right rear door and run in a bundle to the upper console where they seem to end in the plug for the Rear A/C controller. There is no indication that these harnesses have been altered. They appear to be taped like they came from the factory.
My questions are, were the opening rear window vents standard on the XLT or only on the Limited? If only on the limited, would they have installed actuators regardless of what model and just dead-end the wires into open plugs? There may be the chance that the upper console was aftermarket because there is a price tag sticker on it...
Have a tarp over the roof of our Explorer, getting a puddle of water on the driver floor.
It's getting the headliner wet near top driver side of door/windshield.
Is there a drain tube, or is it a blocked channel in the roof that I can clean with a stiff wire from above?? or does this require removal of the headliner?
I have a newbie question on how to remove the rear bumper? Do I disconnect the sensors first or remove the bumper and disconnect the sensors.
I read this thread : [URL] .....
But was not sure which bolt to remove? Is it all 4 on each side or 2 toward the rear of the bumper?
I want to change my headliner to a different design. Any info on how to remove it will be useful. Also, is it true that if you take it off you have to buy new clips or brackets?
View 6 Repliesok normally im very good at this stuff, but i just dont want to break anything (already broke 3 of those little "push" pin things that hold the plastic cover/trim pieces over the front bolts)
how do i get those out without breaking them, and the bolts towards the back of the bench seat, i dont even see where they are! i know there are 12 total. trying to remove to replace my carpet
I'm trying to upgrade my speakers. I got the ones in the front and rear doors installed. I hoping there is a way I can access the speakers without having to completely remove all of the rear panels.
View 8 RepliesI've had the rear barn doors and window start rattling lately no matter how tight I think I've closed them. The seals look ok.
View 10 RepliesI need to pull my front overhead console to make some changes, gonna try to mount my sirius cradle up there to get it out of the way. Can't figure out how it is fastened up there. Also, I need to pull the cover off the rear seat DVD player as I want to solder in some RCA's onto the aux in. Can't figure this one out either, and I'm afraid to break the cover.
View 4 RepliesHow to remove and reinstall the GS-F suede headliner?
View 14 RepliesI'm trying to lower the rear part of the headliner so I can replace a broken antenna base. I've read the detailed photo instructions posted on this site. I've been able to dislodge all of the parts covering the rear section of the headliner, including the dome light, but I can't get enough clearance unless I also remove the two rear grip assists. I'm flummoxed trying to remove the grip covers and sub-assembly. The official instructions are confusing, and the dealer tech could not explain it in a way I could understand. See attached diagrams. I can't figure out how to use the screwdriver to release the grip covers.
View 1 RepliesSo we just had a rain storm and I looked at the back driver side headliner and there is a leak! Do you think it is from the window or the roof? When I pressed on the headliner water dripped out so there was a bit of water.
View 4 Repliesis there an way to remove the defrost vent covers? i think my license slid down the front of the defrost covers. its probably somewhere down under the dash. I would like to start removing the covers up top before I yank the dash. I am 1400 miles from home so I cant run and get a replacement.
View 6 RepliesI decided to install a new Optima yellow top battery because I performed the battery check and found the voltage low and therefore believed my 2008 was still running on the original OEM 12v battery. Much to my surprise I found a non-OEM battery installed and the vent tube elbow missing!
View 10 RepliesThe driver and passenger side were no problems at all, but the center vent is giving me trouble. I've seen the how-to, but can't get it to pop out. I don't really have a proper screwdriver, at home, to push up on the two clips on the top inside of the vent, but I used a hard plastic interior trim removal tool, while prying at the top with another. I have left the bottom controls in as I can't pull the left side buttons out enough to disconnect them while the vent is still in.
View 4 Replieshow to remove the AC vents without breaking them? When I turned my AC on today it sounded like there was something blocking this vent and restricting airflow. It's very annoying and I'm not really sure how to go about trying to get in there to unblock the vent.
