Tonight my wife and I drove ex to store and out to eat . We got back home and the wife opened the glove box and the radio quit working. And when she closed the box the radio came back on.

View 6 RepliesI took my truck in for Maryland State inspection on Monday and got my truck back and the radio no longer works. I checked the fuse on both the back of the radio and the main fuse box and both fuses are still intact. I'm not really sure where to go from here. Any recommendations?

I've checked all fuses that resemble a related fuse in the fuse box.
I've replaced the dash switch, Transfer case shift motor and ESOF/GEM module behind the glove box. I've swapped around the relays under the hood on the drivers side fender well.
I ran a hot & ground to the 2-wire plug on the x-fer case shift motor to have it move the ex back into 2wd (replacing the shift motor required me to manually put it in 4hi with a wrench).
At this point, I'm thinking it's a wiring issue? Where to go next?
We just replaced an injector in my truck. Everything was fine, ran great, etc.
On the freeway home, the dash, windows, locks, radio all quit working. at first they'd stop and come back, stop and come back, etc. then finally they stopped. As I was getting off the nearest exit, the truck started dying on me. Once I got pulled over out of the way, it acted like the battery was completely dead.
After a few minutes of scratching my head and staring under the hood, I happened to look at the passenger side batter, and the crossover cable from the drivers side was broken off right at the terminal!! We must have broke it off while doing the injector. as I look closer at it, it had been broken before. Some idiot before me had actually taken a broken crimp style terminal, shoved it and crimped it into a new one and called it good.
I was able to redneck it back together so i could finish the last couple miles home. I fixed it properly with a new crimp terminal, heat shrink, etc. Why did the engine die with the crossover connection broken? was it because the series was not complete, and all the electronics were running off the battery(s) and not the alternator? I'm really confused. I've heard of people only running one battery before.
Driving home my radio quit working. I looked at the gauges and they all dropped to the left. The it looked like my lights quit working and then the truck just quit. All of this happened within 5 miles and 10 minutes. I jumped it and quit before I could even get going, it did start momentarily. Could not even get the gear shift into neutral; had to jump it to get that to happen.
It is 2006 F150 4x4, 5.4L engine and about 95,000 miles.
Funny thing - had the truck in the body shop for several weeks and when it went in, everything worked. Got it back, and some of the radio buttons don't work. These are rocker style buttons, and when I push the AM (left side) that works. Press FM, and it won't go to FM. Press the right side of the tuning button, and it won't go up the dial. Press the left side, and it will go down. Same for cd. Left side of button goes backward through the tracks, but right side won't advance. Bass/treble button: Press bass (left side) and that works. Press treble (right side), and nothing.

Is this some kind of wiring problem or where to start looking..or what might be my problem... I am clueless when it comes to wiring .

The door locks quit working. The previous owner did the tin foil repair... I replaced the four door actuators today. Now all of the doors lock and unlock on the manual buttons. The fob doesn't work on any door.. when i try and use the door code pad, the locks go into a cycle.. the keep trying to operate by themselves. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. I can't find the door lock relays. I have most of the dash out. Where these are?
I have a question on my '00 7.3. Cruise control just quit working. From reading the threads/forums I have gotten some ideas, but how about no dash light when turning the key to on? Nothing with the self test also. How can I troubleshoot the switch in the steering wheel? I could also have a bulb out in the cluster, but either way- no cruise function.

View 3 RepliesI'm working on a 2003 that the front wiper and sprayer quit working on. The rear wiper and sprayer still work fine. We replaced the multifunction switch and no change. I would like to test the motor before we keep throwing parts at it.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2007 Camry XLE with a four cylinder engine. Noticed radio and clock quit working. The radio screen is blank. None of the buttons work. Popped hood open to check fuses and noticed corrosion on positive battery terminal. Cleaned battery terminals up and still nothing on radio and clock. Everything else seems to be working correctly. Checked smaller fuses for radio1 and radio 2. Checked all other small fuses in engine compartment and under dash. Still not working. I also pulled battery out and had Oreillys check it. It was good. Not sure what it could be.
View 9 RepliesMy 2009 Sonata GLS stock sat radio, dvd head unit stopped working. Appears no power to it, won't light up or anything? Looked at the fuse shows OK? The radio / dvd fuse circuit, shows the led-digital clock is also on same circuit. The clock is working fine. I can not find any of the radio's wiring loose or disconnected. Has my radio gone bad already? Car has ~ 14,300 mi on it.

View 2 RepliesThe fuel gauge sender quit the other day so Im replacing the pump assembly. I believe in replacing fuel and ignition related parts with factory equipment. So I was going to get a Ford Motorcraft pump, but my wife checked for one through her work(local parts store). The counter guy found one that said original equipment, called them and was told "It is the same pump that gets installed on the assembly line". Well it came in today and its a Delphi. I was expecting a Ford pump. I associate Delphi with GM and I know GM pumps go out all the time. I know Ford pumps go out too, but I know several people with GMs that have replaced pumps multiple times within 100000 miles. Is Delphi worth taking a chance on?
