Ford Excursion :: Middle Wire Of Taillight Broken?

Sep 14, 2012

My tail light. The middle wire broke I was thinking of soldering it together?

Is this part specific to the Excursions or can I go to the junk yard and get it from other Fords?

C/K :: 1996 Cheyenne - Wire Auxiliary High Middle Stoplight?

1996 Cheyenne 3/4 Ton 4x4 Long box

I put a cap on the box and the inspection guy told me I had to have a Center High Mount Stop Light on the back of the cap itself (because the back of the truck cab has one). I mounted the fixture and routed the wires down the box post under the truck box (I included a plug connector before it goes down the box post, so I can unplug the cap easy when I want to remove it).

Now I began to think... I can't just tap into the brake light wire at the rear bumper because the CHMSL will come on too when a signal light comes on. Do I have to run a CHMSL feed from the fuse box or somewhere up front, all the way down to the rear bumper? Where to locate this feed, or do I have to reference a schematic in the manual? Guess what? I don't have the manual.

While I was at it I installed a cargo light fixture inside the cap. I guess I could run that feed down from the front too while I am running the CHMSL wire.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Broken Coil-on-plug Wire Clip?

2007 F-150 Screw 5.4... Successful spark plug change. Well, sort of. I disconnected some of the coil clips/wires from the coils during the operation. Upon installation of the wires/clips, one of the clips did not 'click' into place.

Thinking the clip needed to be pushed/pulled, I bent the clip a bit and it snapped off! Being the slow learner that I am, a second clip also did not 'click' in place, and you know where this is going: I have two broken clips out of 8. After those two, I was much more gentle.

So, can these clips be replaced and/or spliced in? I'm thinking about just using nylon ties to hold them in place. So far, they are staying put just by being pushed in place, but these two do not seem very secure.

In the future, what is the correct way to make sure these things 'snap' back into place if they seem to not want to cooperate?

Here's a picture of the two 'press clips' that broke off....

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: P0453 Code After Broken Ground Wire

My 2007 F150 5.4L would not crank at all the other morning. After checking the battery, I discovered that the ground wire to the starter was completely frayed and broken off right at the eyelet connector to the starter. I spliced it back together and the truck fired right up.

However, the check engine light suddenly appeared and I got a P0453 code which apparently indicates a high reading at the fuel pressure sensor. The CEL never appeared until the broken wire happened. I took a quick look at the fuel pressure sensor and wiring and nothing appears to be obviously broken.

One other thing I've noticed for a few weeks is a miss under load while driving. I have not seen any codes at all for the miss. I was leaning toward replacing the coil overs but now I'm wondering if the miss is related to the fuel pressure sensor.

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Broken Wire To 3rd Brake Light

So one of the green wires broke off at the bulb connection and my 3rd brake light is not working. If I touch the ends together the light does work. Can I just remove the broken wire in the connector and reattach the current wire? Or do I have to replace the whole thing?

Camry :: Broken Wire Harness Spark Plugs

Two of my plugs locking clips broke today on the wire harness side where the coil over plugs into the harness today while changing spark plugs. They will plug back up, but they won't lock together like they are suppose to. How critical is this? It is my wife's car will she break down? I drove the car maybe twelve miles, and everything seemed fine.

Ford Excursion :: 2005 - Middle AC Is Not Working

The middle a/c is not working and to clarify my front top display is out (I took down the display and the little chips appear to need to be re-seated or soldered) so I don't know if that is playing into the whole scheme.

Right now the front a/c works, rear back works on floor, but the middle does not blow at all. I have read several posts the mention a TMX(not sure if that is it)? also mention are flapper doors (?) directional doors(?).

Had the EGR delete done (and because mine is an 05 my engine light stays on - yeah) and the SCT computer and oil cooler are next. Also replaced all the injectors and performance has greatly improved.

Ford Excursion :: Adding Sliders To The Middle Row Captain Chairs?

My third row gets used once in a blue moon. Usually the first two rows are enough. I have captains chairs but when I put the drivers seat all the way back it doesn't leave the middle row passenger much foot space, especially for how large the truck is. I've thought about buying a set of eBay sliders and putting them between the second row seat frame and the floor. That way I could keep all the factory features like the flip and fold, but still slide them rearward a few inches. I'm not sure I'll ever get around to it but I have had it on my mind a while.

Ford Excursion :: 2005 - Trigger Wire For Puddle Lights

Kind of stumped on this electrical quandary. Father in law has an 05 limited. PO installed iron cross (I believe) hoop step bars. He wanted me to add puddle lights like i have on my truck. On my truck I tapped into the wires going to the oem lighted running boards. On his truck it looks like whoever removed those wires, I can not find them. So I thought, I would grab the front door lights as I believe they turn on when you unlock the doors along with the overhead lights. The lights, bulbs, socket and wiring are missing on both sides. Like someone took the time to pull the wires out of the harness or something. Nothing to be found. We pulled both door panels looking for them and nothing. So I would like to find a wire that i can grab power from that is triggered by the unlock button...

Ford Excursion :: 2003 - Middle Row Driver Side Seat Belt Latch Assembly

2003 Ex, EB, bench style middle row. I have owned less than a year.

Purchased with a broken latch assembly the drivers side middle row...promptly replaced for $70. Today, it is broke again, less than a year. I am going to do some more investigating as to HOW this happened TWICE.

Chipped, broken housing on their middle latch assembly? It breaks the black part first, which holds the guts in alignment....once the black part slips down or up to far...the guts do not function.

The Battery Light flashes on 2002 excursion 7.3l. I have been having a problem for several months, one of the batteries ended up being shot, alternator checks out. Ford Excursion :: Location Of Reverse Wire For Backup Camera Installation?

My reverse camera goes over the mirror, its a mirror when not in use and a camera when in reverse. The way this one is set up, the camera taps switched 12 volts at the rear of the car (tapped trailer connector for these) and the video signal runs forward (ran under headliner to center console to mirror). The monitor needs 12 volts, ground, and + 12 volts when I shift into reverse. I just read a half dozen threads where people suggested tapping into a black wire with pink stripe in the driver's kick panel. Just checked, no such wire on mine. I do not want to run a wire back from the taillight, this seems backwards since the power goes from the front of the truck to the reverse light in the taillight I just need to find the right wire. I checked the reverse relay and the fuse in the fusebox and they are both 12 volts when the truck is on, so they must be prior to the reverse switch.
