What could possibly be leaking water on my drivers side floorboard below my dash? I could understand if it was on the passenger side but driver?

View 5 RepliesIt was raining today and when I went to get in my X i notice water dripping in on the floor in my rubber mats. it was down by the ebrake pedal under the dash. is this a windshield seal problem?
View 14 RepliesI have been told that the EX has a problem with the windshield leaking on the drivers side, and it does, so does replacing the windshield fix this? Or is it something else that requires 50lbs of silicone...
View 7 RepliesI have a 2004 Excursion 4x4 with only 85k. miles on it. My problem is that there is a water leak on the drivers side, either around the windshield or door weather strip. I say weather strip, because when I opened the door this morning, after a very heavy rain last night, there was some moisture on the inside of the door where the seal should have stopped it. My wife saw water on the emergency break pedal, and has felt a couple drops on her foot.
This is my second EX with the same problem, except the first one, a 2000 model, was much worse. It was leaking down on the GEM and fuse box. Replacing the windshield did not even slow the leak down. After several attempts to fix the problem with no luck, I decided to sell. I don't want to sell this one, but if I can't fix the leak before the electrical problems start, I won't have a choice.
The wife's 2008 Prius has apparently been collecting water on the driver side (front and back) floors for some time. Allegedly, it doesn't have to be raining, or even wet outdoors at all for it to accumulate. The fluid is not engine coolant or windshield washer fluid; clear, colorless, and tasteless (yeah, I did taste it) liquid, totally saturating, and partially filling the floor pans on the left side, while leaving the area directly under the driver seat dry. There seems to be some dampness on the passenger rear carpet, but it's nothing like the driver's side. The undercarriage has plastic shielding of some sort covering the areas of the floor where the water has built up, so I can't immediately see any drain plugs, or holes where water may be coming in. Before I start tearing things apart, I thought I would run the strange problems through the forum, and see what you all might come up with. I've seen some reports of possible A/C drain issues in the passenger front floor, but this is definitely left side. Oh, yeah....there's a stink along with it, but I'm assuming that may be mold caused by the standing water, or something totally unrelated; but I thought it bore mentioning.
View 19 RepliesThe doors on my 2005 crew cab are leaking water. Its happened once before, I fixed it by resetting the main seal around the doors. Now this tropical storm had them leaking again. The rear doors are leaking from the top and getting the head liner wet, and the front left door is leaking a little bit onto the middle pillar Guage and down onto my leg.
Is it time for new door seals? My 01 has never had this problem so im not entirely sure what to do.
Our '99 Explorer leaks when it rains. The water drips from under the dash on the driver's side floor. A while back a dealership put all sorts of sealant around the windshield gasket and that seemed to work for a while.
Where are the drains for the door channels, windshield and the air intake where the windshield wipers are connected? I'd like to make sure they are clear.
I have a 2005 Prius and there is water coming into the drivers side floor. We believe this may have been going on for awhile and didn't realize it. My son drove the car and there was a "smell" that started about a year ago and I thought he spilled something inside the car.
View 7 RepliesMy area has been hammered by rain for the past several weeks and I've noticed water leaking in around my driver's side headliner and down my column. I suspect it is the moonroof drain hole that is causing the problem, but when I pour water into the hole it drains out of the bottom of the car like it should be.
I want to check the drain nipple under the column trim to see if the hose is damaged there and leaking, but I'm not sure how to remove it. I've read about the Sante Fe trim removal and it sounds like you should just be able to pull on it from the top and work your way down, but I want to check as I don't want to start breaking clips to "test" out if it works.
Is the column held in by friction clips that should come loose if I pull with enough pressure toward the rear-view mirror?

Wife was driving in heavy rain and noticed water dripping from above the parking brake.
When she got home took a quick look and noticed moisture around the fuse box that sits just above the parking brake.
Assume a seal somewhere is bad. Did some searching but only got hits for passenger side leaks and AC drain hose.
Next step is a trip to the dealer to diagnose.
Yesterday I went to reach for a piece of paper that fell under the drivers seat and relized that my carpet was wet, i went to look and i had a puddle, i think I might have gone into a small puddle that day, but it was the day after it rained, no trail for the door to the puddle either it seemed, to seep in through the bottom or somewhere else.
View 23 RepliesI have an 08 Accent hatchback, no sunroof. I am having water soaking the passenger floor board and getting into the heater fan. If I park on a side hill it actually drips out of the bottom of the fan motor, and you can hear it being sprayed inside it when going around a corner. Checked the windshield - seal is good, took off the cowling under it and everything was dry - including the filter for the fresh air, so it doesn't appear to be coming down through there. I even poured about 8 gallons of water down the windshield and into the run-off channel at the bottom of the windshield and nothing seemed to get into the fan or leak into car, however, by the time I drove it home 4 hours later, it was in the fan again. Is there some other way to for it to getting to the fan? It's not coming from the door side, as it is usually dry on that side when it first starts getting wet, but rather it stars from the left of the passenger foot well.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2010 Prius. After a heavy rain, sometimes but not always, water will drip from the front driver pillar and more recently from the roof immediately adjacent to the sunglasses holder. This happens usually after a turn or acceleration/ deceleration, i.e. when water trapped in the roof somewhere gets to slosh around. Before asking dealer to look into this (which I imagine will be expensive and not definitely rewarding),
View 4 RepliesJust noticed a puddle of water around the adblue tank in the right side of the trunk, I popped the cover off where you would fill the adblue tank and there was more water around that area too...
View 9 RepliesWhile diagnosing an issue with my ebrakes I found the drivers rear axle seal was leaking coating the ebrakes in gear oil, replaced the seal. Decided to pull the differential fill plug and check to make sure it was full - drained a good bit out pulling the hub to replace the seal. To my horror this is what I find when I pull the plug. First photo is as it came out on the magnet - second is after a clean up. What is it? I am almost afraid to drop the cover....
View 14 RepliesI have water coming in on passenger side right above rear cup holder an another spot further back by rear window. I was told roof rack so i removed cleaned and resealed all bolts around wholes with silicone. Rain today an still have water coming in? See rite on edge of headliner gets wet. How hard is it to remove headliner? Maybe not all way out but could drop enough to see whats going on in rear compartment. Its a 2002 xlt...
View 12 RepliesIts been awhile since I have been on. Everything has been running great for me until I found my passenger side front axle leaking fluid. I'm sure something has been posted on here but I have limited access to internet right now and need to know what I am getting into to change the seals. From what I have found there is an inner seal in the pumpkin and then an outer seal and dust cover. Are both of these easy to change? Are there any special tools needed? Do I need to remove the gears in the pumpkin? If so, is this difficult and any special tools required for this?
Mine is a 2001 V10-6.8, 4x4 no mods at this point.
OK for the past few weeks I have been notice water on my floor boards on the DRIVER's SIDE. Now I just did some cab lights and thought ok maybe that's it. About a week ago while it was raining out I dropped the headliner and it was dry as a bone. So I eliminated that as a possibility.
Then I thought well maybe its my 3rd light and the water wasn't showing up until there. So that's been replaced and sealed tight. Now it has been cool here and has not rained in about a week now so everything should of dried out by now.
I left the floor mat out all of yesterday and last night and came out this morning to a dry floor area. I put the mat back in and drove the 15 minutes to my office and pulled the mat back out and the floor was wet again. I have not run my heat or A/C in 4-5 days and have not had any weather other then sun since last Saturday. The water shows up on the back of the floor mat more as like a heavy condensation then anything else. So my question is where is this water coming from?
I have a 2013 Elantra and yesterday all this water came into the car underneath the glove box / under the dash. When making right or left hand turns you can hear the water sloshing around behind the dash. Its definitely water. What is causing water to leak into the car?
View 7 RepliesI've been having to add a quart of oil between every 3,000 mile oil change. This is a used 2000 2.5L motor now with about 150,000 miles on it and 317,000 on my truck. I notice the oil is coming from somewhere on the side maybe in a few places. I think the oil plug is dripping a little. I'm going to try an OEM Ford plug because I've changed them several times with aftermarket plugs and they never seal right. I thought it might be the oil pan gasket but it doesn't really look wet around the flange all the way around.
Then I checked higher up thinking it maybe the valve cover gasket which has been replaced and it's drive around the cover. I noticed under the power steering pump bracket it's all wet with oil. It's not the power steering, I've never had to add to it. It appears to be in the middle under the intake. I didn't see anything from the pressure switch. It looks like it's mostly around the pcv valve box. Is there a gasket that leaks there? Or anywhere else that is common to leak? I fixed my transmission pan gasket leak which cleared up some of the mess on the bottom. How hard is it to change that pcv valve box? They call it a crankcase vapor separator where the pcv valve goes.
2005 4wd excursion. I have a leaking rear seal on passenger side.
I have the hub assembly off. I'm down to the spindle. My old seal came out in pieces. There's either a piece of the old seal or another seal on the back of the spindle.
Are there two seals? This what looks like a seal still on the spindle against the plate on the back...
