I just ordered a ford center jump seat and was looking for some type of instructions for removing the arm rests on the captions chairs. I have herd of others just cutting them off, but was looking for a way to salvage them in case I cant live without all my cup holders.

View 5 RepliesI have the 60/40 seat with fold down "jump seat" that has the 2 cup holders and console. In the down position, it squeaks something fierce on any kind of a bumpy/rough surface. On paved roads it's fine.

View 3 RepliesMy X keeps needing to be jumped and after being jumped it runs like a top as usual. Took it to Autozone and had them hookup their little portable doohikie and told me the battery is fine but the alternator should be pushing out 14a and it's only pushing 13? Didn't realize 1aI made that big of difference but whatever. I am taking the alternator off in a few minutes and I'm gonna have it bench tested to confirm the output.
Is there a heavier duty alt that I can get? I will be pulling an RV before too long so I'd like to get one that's gonna last. Btw, 2000 excursion limited v10 gas 6.8...
I have a 2003 excursion v10, and am now having some problems. My son drove the truck the other day, and the trucks battery died because he left the lights on, so he jumped it. The next day when i went to drive the truck, every light on the cluster was on, the radio would not work only appearing when the menu or load cd button was pressed, the windows do not function, nor do any interior lights....
View 12 RepliesI have a 2000 excursion with the 7.3 in it. When I turn the key it wont crank over but i can jump the selonoid and it will fire right up. I replaced the selonoid and I don't know what else it could be???

Or to put it another way - Yet another Hadley air horn installation. First up made a mounting bracket for the horns......to mount them on the frame.Then another bracket to mount the air tank, wiring and compressor. Finally fitted an illuminated switch to change from OEM horns to the Hadleys. This switch illuminates dimly with the parking lights and brighter when switched to the Hadleys.

View 5 RepliesWith snow on the ground all winter here (usually), and the summers getting into the 90's I was thinking about getting a remote start system. I know Viper is the big name but I just want something to start it, not do a bunch of prima donna functions I don't need. I normally do everything myself but electrical is not my forte and I hear that a DIY person can't get much info because they think only installers should do it. Also from what I gather, it takes a relay due to the transponder key. I am thinking $200 max and I hear Best Buy can do it all.

I don't like how cheesy all the aftermarket ones look and love fords factory controller and upfitter switches. Looking for info on swapping these in the excursions and had it working? View 14 RepliesI am i the process of installing a F-650 dash kit. I am going to relocate my DP tuner to a location next to the power source to the right of the heat/ac control section. I am going to cut out a section for the mounting bracket. My questions are:
1: What's directly behind that section?
2: If there is something directly behind it, can I remove just the front section of the dash or do I have to remove the entire dash from the windshield?
I am going to have to remove something anyways for the lower kit to be installed.
I have a 2013 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew with the 'jump' seat in the middle. When I fold down the center seat, I hit my elbow while driving and turning.
I'm contemplating removing the center jump seat and replacing it with a Ford center console. Is it just a matter of removing the center jump seat bolts, then bolt in the new center console?

Of course, then what do I do with a center jump seat?
I am looking at using a 2009 F150 XLT to rig up a soil sampling truck. I was hoping to remove the front-passenger and front-centre seat to make room for a probe that will go through the floor into the soil. As I was looking through articles to see if this was possible I read that some newer models dont make this easy, as there are air bag sensors and seat belt sensors that screw up the process. Before going out to look at the truck and make an offer, I was wondering - if there are any tips for removing these seats.
View 3 RepliesI picked up an 02 ex value xlt with out the rear heat i was wondering if any of you have installed it in a truck that never had it. i work at a scrap yard as a mechanic and will hopefully have a truck come in with the parts i need, what it all entails. Any headliner out for some odd reason maybe you could snap a photo of the piping.

View 14 RepliesI have a 01 Ford excursion 7.3 auto and it will not start unless you jump the starter relay, I have replaced the starter, starter relay and swapped out batteries from my 2000 F250 auto, not sure what to do and this is my daily driver. Not sure if this matters but just had the transmission rebuilt. I have tried searching other threads but still not finding what I need. Once it starts it runs and drives. When you turn the key you hear a click like a relay is engaging and all of the lights and gauges work it just won't start with the key.

Installing rear brake line and failed to put on the rear washer and stripped out the bolt hole mostly. Will still unscrew and screw back in but not enough to stop a slow drip. Is there an easy repair or time for a new caliper? Thread tape is not brake fluid resistent.
If no repair, what brand should I go with? Are they all similar or MC better? Can get Fenco for $50 and MC for $100. A1 Cardone and ACD for about $75.
