Ford Excursion :: How To Remove Dash Bezel To Access Radio
Sep 2, 2015
Installed an aftermarket stereo but having problems with the steering wheel controls adapter I purchased and need to remove the radio to access the settings on the adapter. The kit I used to install the radio states that once the radio is snapped in place with the kit, the dash bezel must be removed to access the radio. I googled and I cannot find instructions on how this piece come off.

I don't see how the panel below the steering wheel opens to access the ODB port to try out Carista. I played around with the little plastic piece that sticks out and tugged without luck. I could find any YouTube videos either.

So the dealer replaced my homelink buttons for the delaminating. The light that lights up when you press the button is not present in the cutout. Rather than drag the truck all the way back to the dealer, I was hoping to pop the cover off and reposition it myself.

guides for jettas and b5's don't seem to work.
I've taken the three bolts out of the middle, the ones with the black clips on them, but don't know where to go from here. I'm assuming I'll also have to disconnect the brake light, correct?
It seemed there were screws or even glue maybe holding the deck in place close to the seatbacks - is this true? I didn't want to pull to hard on it in case it broke.
Is there any other way to access the amp without removing the deck lid? My rear right mid speaker isn't working so I'm trying to determine why

Have any of you tried to cut an access hatch in the rear of your truck to get to the fuel pump without dropping the tank? Am I way off? can it even be done? My fuel pump took a dump with about a quarter of a tank. I'm trying to find a work around.

I am trying to remove the engine cover on the passenger side of the engine bay so that I can access the power steering fluid reservoir. What is the procedure for removing the plastic clips, rivets or whatever they are and also how do you reinstall them? This is a hair brained design if I ever saw one!

Troubleshooting my heat/AC selector (manual) problem in my 2002 F150 SuperCrew. I started with the "all air through the defrost vents issue" that's a fairly common problem. I found that the vacuum line thru the firewall (to the selector controller, I think) had a hole in it chewed by a mouse. But, while I was in the process of disconnecting the line from the T on the engine side of the firewall, the rest of the line just easily pulled through the firewall!.
Now I need to find where the line was going to and get a new one connected. In looking under the dash, I didn't see an obvious answer to my question of where the controller is located that the vacuum line was connected to. Where that connection is made behind the dash and how do I get access to it? Hope I don't have the drop the whole dash.

2002 7.3l Diesel 4x4 Excursion with 200K+ miles. Best truck I have ever owned and want to keep it forever!!!
One of the latches on the jack access door broke off years ago. I want to replace or repair it. I have been looking for a jack access door for years, and then saw this forum and decided to give it a try.
Needless to say I have contacted the local Ford dealerships multiple times and they say they can not get them. I have looked on craigslist without success. I have a silver (they call it Birch or something) truck with similar leather and carpet and door panels. When I can get another door or repair the latch on the ?

So what's the deal with the channel limitation on the SirusXM radio in the PIP. It seems it can only access channel numbers up to 222 and I see no way to enter or access channel numbers in the 300's and 500's. Am I missing something or are the radios crippled?

The horn on my 2010 golf recently went out, so I'm thinking that one of two things happened. Before the horn went out completely, one tone died, then about two months later it stopped working completely. When I press the horn, I hear a click coming from the dash. So, I think it's either a bad relay or both horns went out. How likely is it that both horns go out within a few months of each other?
Anyway, I bought a new horn relay, but how to access the relay panel located in the dash. How to remove the dash sections, or is there a good write up?

We just got back from our first trip towing our 5'er. One of the things we encountered was the sun glare coming off the chromed air vent ring bezels. I am probably going to have them powder coated to stop the reflection. How to take the rings off the truck?

When I went to pull my key out of the ignition yesterday the key got a bit stuck and when I jiggled it a little to pull it out the chrome bezel that locks the tumbler in fell out. Now the tumbler is out as well and I cant figure out how to get the tumbler in and lock the bezel in place.
I see a pin on the bottom of the ignition cylinder that I should be able to push in and pull the cylinder out but I cant seem to push the pin in at all.

I've got the front of the excursion done with my spring swap finally and now it's onto the rear. How do I move these ac lines along the passenger side to get them out of the way from that shackle bolt? I see the brackets holding them but since they are all hard lines how many do I have to remove?

I have a newbie question on how to remove the rear bumper? Do I disconnect the sensors first or remove the bumper and disconnect the sensors.
I read this thread : [URL] .....
But was not sure which bolt to remove? Is it all 4 on each side or 2 toward the rear of the bumper?

I need to send my cup-holder cover and trash hook to Clay so he can color match my F650 dash and I can't figure out how to get the damn side clips on the cup-holder to let go!
I got the top clips and the bottom clip to let go but the side clips will not slip through the slots... I've been near the point of breaking them trying to slide them through...

My hitch receiver is looking pretty strange lately and I want to take it down, grind it and repaint it. While crawling underneath the truck today, I noticed that it appears the bolts holding the hitch are kind of covered by the Tank Skid Plate.
I did some searching, and from what I've gathered, it appears that To drop the skid plate means to also drop the tank as they are one unit.
Is this true? Is there any way for me to get the hitch receiver out without messing around with the gas tank?

I'm sure I could start tugging on it and the clips would show themselves, but I'd rather not break any unseen clips or screw points. Is there a picture aided how-to for the removal of the drivers side of a dash on a 2012 f250? My tuner comes today and I'd prefer a clean install.

How to remove the black outer trim from the dash area around the radio? I need to do a little sub-dash mod to fit my new double DIN head unit in place, and don't want to break the dash trim in the process. I've pulled on it a bit, but decided I had better stop until I found out the correct way to do it ...

I took the plastic cover in front of the radiator off to clean the radiator and condenser. It directs air through the condenser before it gets to the radiator and I was wondering if it would cool the engine without it (if you don't need real cold ac air) . Without it the air can go over the top of the condenser and it is still blocked by the flap that stops airflow above the radiator. Also, I am wondering if the fact that the condenser has nothing in it affects the radiator cooling, and is it bad for the AC system to be empty. (My AC doesn't work)
