Ford Excursion :: How To Get The Bulbs Out Of Sun Visor Mirror

I cannot figure out how to get the bulbs out of the visor mirror. Replacing these? Banging my head against the steering wheel in frustration.

View 2 RepliesSo my driver side map light went out, went and replace the lamp. Now I can't turn on the map light when I depress the lens on both front map lights. Both rear map lights don't work either when I flip the switch and the driver or passenger visor mirror doesn't turn on when I flip the mirror cover. Maps lights do come on when I open doors. Also my Home Link (garage door opener now doesn't work). It's throwing a P1260 code (Theft detected vehicle immobilized). Do this might be related to my light issue? Is there a fuse on relay that controls this that might be bad or something needs to be reset? I've looked at the fuses by the passenger floorboard and every thing looks good. Why this is happening?
View 1 RepliesVisor won't switch on the vanity light when it's pulled down? Just wondering if it's a simple problem to fix.
View 2 RepliesHow to change the bulbs in my outside mirrors.
View 2 RepliesI changed the bulbs in my fog lights as the older ones were very dim. Went to fire them up and nothing. tracked down the fuse under the steering wheel (43 I believe) and it was blown. replaced the fuse, still no fog lights. Checked new fuse, and it is fine. changed it with a different one (you never know) and still no fog lights. Is there a separate fuse/relay somewhere else that I may be missing?
View 6 RepliesI installed new headlights today and the headlight bulbs are not lighting. When I turn the headlight's on the high beam indicator remains lit no matter if the high beams are on or not. I should note that this style headlight has a separate bulb for low and high beams. I am skeptical that all four headlight bulbs are bad. Is it possible the wiring for the connector is not correct?
View 14 RepliesLooking for any PC579 sized LED bulbs for the map lights? I was looking on line and haven't found anything besides the stock bulbs. There has to be something out there.
View 14 RepliesSo, my mirror fell out. What is the trick to keep all those wiggly things lined whilst trying to reattach?
View 8 RepliesThere is a small crescent shape of clear mirror on the top middle of my mirror. I think the dimming "juice" has been compromised. Am I SOL or is there a way to fix it? What vehicles are interchangeable and is there a mirror that's better that I could swap in?
View 10 RepliesI have a new set of towing mirrors for my beast and also a set of the LED smoked signals. It appears that the old ones just "pop" off but I would like to know for sure.
View 3 RepliesMy auto dimming rear view mirror doesn't work for squat. I've found simple replacements but didn't know if others have found for replacing, working around, upgrading, etc.
View 11 RepliesMy 2003 has the tow mirrors. When using the power mirror control they seem to go opposite of what is intended. So when I want it to go up, it will go out and down. Or something to that effect. What the culprit could be?
View 1 RepliesI tried to convert the bulbs in my dashboard with LED bulbs..and it worked for about a month and stop working..then about a week after not having any dash lights. They came back on...but like a strobe, but not all the time..... And then it'll be fine? I'm also looking Into doing a taillight conversion to LEDs.
View 2 RepliesI have an 03 F350 Lariat LE with a stock sun visor (eyebrow) that broke off while I was driving on the highway. I have purchased the replacement. It is a 3 part kit and my biggest question is, how does the mounting bracket attach to the top of the cab. The old one did not come off, just ripped the bolts through the metal.
Here is the link for the parts: 2003 Ford F350 Super Duty - 18637467 Exterior Sun Visor.
I realize this is probably really easy but I don't have my owner's manual.
View 13 RepliesSo when I bought my rig in 2010 it had a Lund visor on it, granted I may not have chosen to put on one but it is on there......
Windshield is busted and I need to have it replaced......the company that came today said they needed the Lund removed and all my gauges removed in order to do the window.......I get the gauge pod (above mirror) that isn't that big a deal, pull it down and pull the wires off the gauges.....
But I am very hesitant to disturb the Lund visor.
Have to confirm the visor indeed needs to come off? I am worried it will never be as well attached and I'm going to end up with body work being done on the roof to fix it.
My passenger bulb on the sun visor is completely out... Any way, to get a bulb for it? I can't seem to figure it out
View 16 RepliesI had the passenger sunvisor fall off when my 2007 Santa Fe was under warranty, so it got replaced for free. A few weeks ago the driver visor fell off. Since I have 70k, this one is going to be on me. I am tempted to use some epoxy and glue the thing in place. It won't be able to swivel to the left, but I seldom do that anyway.
When the visor falls out, it just dangles by the wires to vanity light. I press it back in with my thumb, but it falls out if I hit a bump.
For about 2 weeks now when I turn my 2001.5 Passat off, the little light above the driver visor comes on. It only turns off when I put the visor back up. It never did this before and doesn't do it on the passenger side. Can I just disconnect that light? what was also strange was that if I didn't put the visor back up (turning the light off) a clicking sound would come from the instrument cluster and the cluster lights would flicker. But when I put the visor back up the clicking and flickering stopped.
View 6 RepliesI am at work now, so I can't go unclip it and see if I can fix it until later. It wont stay up past halfway. Is there an easy fix? Can I remove the clip and tighten it somehow?
View 14 RepliesMy driver side sun visor has gotten incredibly creaky for some reason even though I don't use it very often. I don't know what's inside so I'm unsure on the lubricant to use.
