Safelite improperly installed my windshield - As the hurricane harvey came ,enough water was forced into the windshield to fill up the glove box and collect underneath the dash to destroy the entire fusebox.
My mechanic is saying this is no longer available for the 2001 ford excursion diesel....
2000 Excursion with the 5.4 in her. Lots of miles. Used only to tow a travel trailer. Blew out the #3 coil packet and spark plug today. Have to pull the head for sure. My question is why? Is there a more severe problem as to why it did this? Or is my old girl just worn out. 270,000 miles.
View 8 RepliesI have an 02 Excursion, V10. It has the extension brake switch harness, with the fuses. I had a blown 2a fuse. I have a brake pressure switch, that is still open. Any better approach to the redundant switch. If not, I would like to know an updated switch part #, and is there any reason I could use key run, for the battery? Using a Bosch relay coils thru the switch, then battery to the cruise servo?

Now I am getting a Pats code 1:6 and my obd2 reader says no link on my x. It used to read it all the time. I am trying to figure out what I can check to fix this problem are there any relays. Oh also my check engine light does not come on when I turn the key but my truck does crank. does this mean there is no power to my ECU. I did replace my ecu and it did not solve the issue.
I bought a 2000 excursion a month ago and have already had 3 plugs blow out on me. They've been repaired professionally with time sert but the mechanic is starting to wonder if back pressure is building up causing this. He's suggesting to replace the catalytic converter as it's original and has 120,000 miles on it. He's made it clear that he doesn't know if this is the cause but to lose 3 in a month worries him. Is there anything else I can do?

I was driving last Friday (6/19) when the low brake fluid dash lamp illuminated. I made it to my final destination, when I began to back into a parking spot the brake pedal dropped to a position about an inch off the floor. Parked the truck and popped the hood to find almost all of the fluid gone. Only having fluid in the rear axle reservoir of the brake circuit. Pulled the vacuum sensor and the booster is filled with fluid..
Called Ford, had it towed to the dealer and its been sitting there ever since.... They have no loaners and have not even looked at it yet. I'm going to assume no parts are in stock just like all of the other threads I have read on here about this issue.
A few questions I have for those of you who have had this problem or have knowledge about it.
1. How long did it take for your truck to be repaired?
2. When the master cylinder seal leaks all of the fluid into the booster and the booster is pulling engine vacuum; does this mean that brake fluid is then pulled into the crankcase of the engine?
Really looking to get my truck back soon cause I love driving it! But the '74 F250 will have to do for now ....
I have a 2003 Camry LE and one of my dash speakers blew. I finally decided to replace rather than listen to scratchy horrible sounds coming from my dash. I can't seem to find any diagrams/info on how to get to those speakers. I even checked in my repair manual that I use for everything else, and it wasn't in there. How I can go about doing this?
View 1 RepliesI have checked the brake fluid and recycled the emergency brake pedal and the red light in the instrument cluster won't go out. Is it possible that the problem make be the contact switch right above the emergency brake pedal? I have pushed on the switch and the light doesn't go out?

View 1 RepliesI am i the process of installing a F-650 dash kit. I am going to relocate my DP tuner to a location next to the power source to the right of the heat/ac control section. I am going to cut out a section for the mounting bracket. My questions are:
1: What's directly behind that section?
2: If there is something directly behind it, can I remove just the front section of the dash or do I have to remove the entire dash from the windshield?
I am going to have to remove something anyways for the lower kit to be installed.
I have a god awful creaking and popping sound from within my dash. It is directly related to my steering wheel. I can recreate it by pushing down on the wheel but I cannot track it down. I have the dash apart now.

View 10 RepliesBlack dash panel has cracked or broken. My EX is from Oklahoma but had been garaged most of its life paint is good, the plastic outside on mirrors and cowl are still black but the dash panel is brittle. I installed a new radio and broke it just above the cluster taking it off glued that back together got the radio installed and all was good for about 2 months then it started cracking around the radio. Now the radio just slides in and out. Anyway I'm in need of a new dash panel not sure if I should go with an 05 or paint an older one to match.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2000 7.3 with about 114,000 miles. I just had my water pump, thermostat and belt replaced about a week ago. I've been driving the truck since and everything feels normal. This morning I drove the truck to work and parked it for about 10 hours. Got in it after work and everything started up fine. I noticed the brake light on the dash was lit up which I thought was odd because I never use the E brake. E brake wasn't on and I stepped on the brake pedal and it felt like I had no brakes. I turned the truck off and didn't try driving it, I didn't want to risk anything if I didn't have brakes.
View 2 RepliesInstalled an aftermarket stereo but having problems with the steering wheel controls adapter I purchased and need to remove the radio to access the settings on the adapter. The kit I used to install the radio states that once the radio is snapped in place with the kit, the dash bezel must be removed to access the radio. I googled and I cannot find instructions on how this piece come off.

Normally, I'd consider this just a nuisance, but it's convinced the interior and running board lights to play along so that they don't go out until they time out. I'm pretty sure that it's in the rear door somewhere. Where the sensor(s) are for the rear doors and how to test them?
