Ford Excursion :: 2001 - Can Add AUX Cord To Sound System?

I just got my 2001 Ex with the stock 6 disc CD player with not UBS or AUX hook up it does the factory rear enteriment system and two extra TV screens in the headrest that hook up to the DVD player. I plan in the near future to replace the head unit with a Kenwood unit. I have to take a 9 hour trip to the border of Mexico in two weeks I don't want to spend the money on a new head unit yet. Is any way that I could add a AUX cord to the sound system so I could play my IPod and mp3 files?

Ford Excursion :: How To Remove The Rear Bumper

I have a newbie question on how to remove the rear bumper? Do I disconnect the sensors first or remove the bumper and disconnect the sensors.

I read this thread : [URL] .....

But was not sure which bolt to remove? Is it all 4 on each side or 2 toward the rear of the bumper?

Ford Excursion :: How To Get Lower Spring Leaf Bumper Out

I got the new ones, (as mentioned in another thread) and they're the same as the old ones. Well, the one that's still in one piece.

I guess I'm missing something very simple, but as easy as it would be to cut the old one out...how do I make room between the lower leaf and the other leaf pack to get it out?

I about hung from the lower leaf and it didn't move quite enough to give the room to remove the bumper.

Ford Excursion :: Removal Of Backup Sensors In Rear Bumper?

My Excursion had a mangled rear bumper when I bought it recently. I just bought a salvage one to replace it. I had it installed today. I want to salvage the backup sensors in the old bumper along with the license plate lights. How do these come out? They seem locked in there to me.

Ford Excursion :: 2002 - Front Bumper Damaged - Fix Or Replace?

So a line of panic stops on the highway last night and I lost - stopping an 8000lb rig compared to hondas, nissans, etc. Anyway I just kissed the corner of a nissan xterra and dented the steel part of my front bumper below the driver headlight. Nothing else. It is a 2002 all black limited.

I am wondering about fixing vs. buying a new bumper. A new one from the dealer is 436 and then needs to be painted.

Ford Excursion :: Removing Ranch Hand Front Bumper?

I have a Legend Ranch Hand Part# FBF991BLR front bumper. I am debating removing this as I don't really need it for my driving and the extra 450 lbs and hanging out there in the wind can't be good for the suspension and economy. Any thoughts on this? What all come off to install one of these things that I would need to replace with stock?

Ford Excursion :: Front Bumper Moves When Not On Flat Ground

My bumper is moving when my ex isn't parked on flat ground. Almost like the frame is twisting. Enough that it shifted up and cracked my grill. What could be going on? I didn't snap a pic but I'll try to get one. Get back on flat ground and it relaxes back to where it should be, flat and level.

Ford Excursion :: Addition Of Backup Sensors On Chrome Bumper Without Drilling

I'd really like to add these to The Beast, but don't want to drill through chrome. My bumper has some plastic running along the top (see pic). Just looking for info for the same bumper mounted the sensors there with success.

Ford Excursion :: 2002 - Replaced Bumper Now Reverse Sensor Stop Working?

My 2002 Excursion was rear ended. Body shop replaced the bumper. I noticed that the reverse aid was no longer working. I checked and noticed that non of the sensors were working. It was working before they replaced the bumper. If the speaker is out, would the four rear sensor still tick? I find it mighty strange, that it worked before and after the accident. Now that they've replaced the bumber, Every time it's placed in reverse, the light comes on.

Ford Excursion :: Heater Blows Warm Air But Not Hot

I've noticed that my X in the winter does not seem to warm up as it should. I watch the temperature gauge and notice that it barely gets to the first mark in the operating zone of the gauge. The heater blows warm air but not hot. I think its the thermostat that needs replaced because in other vehicles I would see the temp gauge rise and then drop when the thermostat opened. I've flushed the radiator and changed the fluid and not difference. I did find the heater valve on the right side was unhooked from the vacuum line and plugged it back in but no change from that being connected. Anything else I should check?

Ford Excursion :: 2001 V10 - Heater Hose Leaks

I've got a pretty substantial drip someplace at the vacuum heater valve and I am trying to figure out what I am dealing with. I replaced the valve and clamps but the leak persists. The three hoses are so close together I cannot tell which one is leaking.

What are the part numbers for the three hoses? There is one that runs from the intake/front passenger head to the valve that is just held on with clamps. One runs straight down to some sort of fitting and connects to a metal line. I think it may be a quick connect fitting. It is very short.

The third runs from the back of the valve to the firewall.

There is a fourth hose that comes back up from the "somewhere" below and also is a metal hard line with a fitting and rubber hose that goes "someplace" else back towards the firewall. Not connected to vacuum valve...

In any event, if I am going to rip into this, I'd like to just replace the hoses in one shot and done with it. No luck finding much on Google.

The 2 pics included show the valve and the front heater hose. ( I saved the OEM clamps by just sliding them back on the hoses as pictured. I figured if the valve and worm drive clamps didn't fix this I'd put them back on.)

Ford Excursion :: How To Blow Out Rear Heater Lines

I'm 1/2 way through a flush and water pump replacement. Its going to get cold and I don't want to blow any heater lines. I have the pump off and the block drained (I also managed to get some coolant into the block - but not the rear heat).

I don't see an easy place at the front to disconnect the lines. I'd like to blow them out just to be safe. What is the best place to disco in the front or if I even need to - can I just disco 1 in the rear and then blow in both direction?

I fear that there may be some vent door closed that will prevent flow. I can't start the truck - I can turn the key on.

Ford Excursion :: Heater Blows Cold In The Back

The heat up front blows nice and hot but no matter how I adjust the rear ceiling mounted controls it blows cold in the back. Is this a blend door issue or something with the rear controls? Also, on a side note, one of my rear power vent windows just stopped working too. I guess it's either the overhead switch or the motor back there.

Ford Excursion :: Heater / AC Control Panel Not Turn On Occasionally

The heater/AC control panel does not turn-on automatically after the engine is started occasionally, during this time none of the buttons are working and blank display. The only way I can get it turn back on is re-starting the engine, sometime it takes more than 1 re-start.

I thought the relay ? or the signal driving the relay has something to do with it. Where is the relay for the Heater/AL is located ?
