I added signal paddle mirrors on my 2000 Ex. I found the left and right turn signal wires under the dash. The mirror led signal arrows light up but they do not blink. Do I need a separate relay or am I just missing something here? I did a search about adding mirrors and extra wires but nothing is mentioned anywhere about the blink/no blink remedy.

View 9 RepliesI have the small single heated mirrors on my '00 Ex. This is what I would like. To do the mirror conversion with the newer square signal/heated mirrors as easily as possible as I am NOT a mechanical genius by any means. They do NOT have to power fold OR power telescopic as my garage is large enough for my '11 F350 King Ranch to fit without folding them in. But I would like to find a direct easy plug n play type conversion for the signal and the power and heat to work. The EX just looks so dumb with those small mirrors and I want to see what's going on behind me.
View 3 RepliesI installed an EP27 electronic turn signal relay and changed the tail bulbs to Sylvania red 3157Rs in our Exped and everything works fine. I installed another EP27 in our Excur and the relay starts clicking when nothing is on and nothing else has been changed - all stock bulbs and working fine before.
No lights are blinking, but the EP27 turn signal relay is clicking away. Select left turn, right turn or hazard lights and they blink fine. Deselect the lights and the relay continues to click. Swapped the relay from the Exped to the Excur and it clicks, too. Reinstalled the stock turn signal relay and all is fine. There must be some difference or problem in the wiring, it doesn't make sense.
Just picked up a 03 Excursion limited 6.0, traded in my 04 f150 for it. Runs great- The dealer put in a new FICM and did a full tune up on it, also has stock bolts, NOT studs. I just added a SCT livewire with canned tunes, and have what feels like a misfire or stutter at high boost/ RPM. The only thing I see on the SCT gauges is the ICP hits about 22.5 and then drops off, that is with the street tune, when i go back to stock i can hit 24+ all day without a issue. Both tunes have my FICM at 48-48.5 and never moves. The ICP Duty also in both tunes will go to about .7-.8 and never drops... Is this the fuel pressure dropping from lack of the "Blue Spring mod" ?
View 7 RepliesI have just bought on 09 XLT, and wouldn't you know it, I was behind a Lariet that made a left hand turn, and then I saw something my truck does not have... the turn signal LED at the bottom left hand side of it's mirror. And guess what? Now I want that too! I have seen some other threads about this on other web sites, but as far as I am concerned, this site is the last word on anything Ford truck! I have a couple of questions:
What is the Ford part # for the mirror turn signal lights? Also I would like to install the reflectors in front of the mirrors so I can add LEDs to them too. What is the part numbers for the front reflectors? And lastly, I would like to try not to tear up more than I need too, so would there already be the turn signal wires I could connect inside the mirror housing? Or since this does not have that option from the factory am I going to have to take the mirror off the truck and run those myself?
Is the turn signal relay the same in my 97 Mountaineer as in my 97 Ranger? If so, what does it look like, and where might I find it?

View 1 RepliesLong story short, my truck's front turn signals and rear turn signals/tail lights won't work. I am thinking that the relay is burnt. Whenever I look in the manual I can't seem to find the location for this relay. Is is built into the flasher?
Also, I am just assuming because the rear turn signals and tail lights are the same bulb that fixing this should clear up both problems. Am I right in thinking that?
I have already checked all of the fuses. Also, the Hazards don't work either.
I have a '13 sonata. I really like the turn signals that newer cars are doing on the outside edges of the mirrors. Without swapping everything out with new mirror shells.
Clarification: Note I want to add the lights to the outside front facing of the mirror buckets Not the ones they do have that attaches behind the mirror portion facing back. so oncoming cars can see the signals......
My neighbors 02 250 6.8l the turn signal/hazard relay is clicking with key off, sounds exactly like a turn signal when truck is off and switches are not engaged. Here's the weird thing, if you hit the brakes the relay stops clicking, if you engage the turn signal or the hazards the lights on the dash are in time with the relay as it should be, but when the turn signal switch or hazards are turned off the relay keeps clicking except when you hit the brakes. Also the turn signal will work with ignition off, if you pull the relay out the turn signals and hazards are inoperable but the brake lights still work. I swapped in a new relay and same thing...
View 8 RepliesOk so my fire station has a 2003 f550 rescue truck with a rescue body with the round tail lights, we recently upgraded them to the LED ones that are much brighter but of course it flashes at the speed of sound. The question I have is:
1. the relay {flasher} is located on the driver side inner fender? I think....
2. does the same EP-27 relay/flasher fix the problem?
I just swapped out my heated, lighted flag mirrors for OEM take off heated, lighted tow mirrors. I used the Ford adapter pigtail so it was a plug and play installation. The mirrors adjust but the turn signals don't work. The flag mirrors worked fine. I can't tell if the defrost works or not with either mirror.

However, I don't want to use those "load resistors" or "cancelers". iJDMtoy sells an LED relay for the 14' IS (confirmed). After looking through the manual and at all 3 fuse/relay locations I can't locate it.
View 3 RepliesMy left turn signal stopped working all together after months of toggling the hazards to get it to work. I attempted to solder the combination relay myself but bridged two contacts together. I guess I didn't do a good job separating them again cause when I plugged it back in, neither signal worked and it must have burnt out the #20 10a fuse cause the heater control had no power, neither did the heated seats. Also found the #26 15a fuse was blown too. But before I replaced the fuses I got a used combination relay I pulled from a jeep at a junk yard (free). Plugged that in (nothing changed) but then replaced the fuses. Heater control and heated seats came back, had hazards but no directionals. Took used relay out and heated that one up to reactivate the solder, plugged it back in and had a left signal but now no right. Tried to reflow the solder second time but still just the left. Dropped $58 on a new relay at the dealer, plugged that in but still no right signal!! I tried other fuses in those to spots I replaced, pulled everyone of the others and checked them, checked the fuses under the hood and still no right.
View 1 RepliesMy turn signal relay clicking and stuttering randomly. When turn or warning signal used it operates normally with absolutely no problem and sounds healthy. But when not used and supposed to be quite - it goes again. When stuttering - there is absolutely no indication other than clicking sound that something is wrong.
View 11 RepliesI've changed out all of my external lights for led's, including the turn signals. I had planned on replacing the turn signal relays with led comparable versions but have been unable to find the relays in the fuse boxes. The box that does the actual clicking under the dash seems like it could be it but it looks completely proprietary to this model, and not readily available in the compatible version.
I ended up installing resistors for now but that's caused other problems with my lights. Now when I turn my high beams on all 4 turn signals light up solid and I am unable to use them until I turn the highs off.
So, I would love to know if I do have a relay replacement option for my 2012 Santa Fe...
I have searched many threads and seem to be confused. I have a 2000 excursion and unsure of exact plugs. I currently have the paddle mirrors that are heated and powered, and want to get the tow mirrors with heat and power. They don't need to have signals or power telescoping or folding. As long as they can manually fold. What is a good reliable mirror that will fit what I need?
View 14 RepliesI recently bought an 02 Excursion. The front seats have been swapped to Lariat seats. (I'm assuming to get the 40/20/40 seats which I love considering I have 7 kids and need to haul 9 people.) When I bought it I noticed right away that the power mirrors don't work. Noticed a few days later that the rear speakers weren't working either. Under the driver seat (its power and heated seat) I found the connector that went to the rear audio controls on the previous console.
I spliced the wires for the rear speakers and they are working now I tried replacing the switch for the power mirrors and still nothing. Could this problem be related to the seat swap or is this a total separate issue? I've got to get a new test light to check for power to the switch...the bulb is blown in mine. Assuming that I check the power wire (orange w/ light green, right?) and it is fine, what's next?
I have a set of Tow mirrors off a Laredo on my EX (they are the rounded ones and not square). They have the built in LED Turn Signals and (5 LED) marker lights in them.
The Driver's side marker light has quit working but I still have power to everything in the mirror. It was working but only on 2 of the 5 LED's. Now they are all not working.
Successfully "remove" the LED housing that holds the Turn Signal and Marker lights from the mirrors to repair or replace them? If they are removable, how do they come out? It looks like they just "snap" in place but I'm afraid to pry on them for fear of breaking the plastic leans....
