I have a strange creaking sound coming for the floor pan below my drivers seat. It creaks whenever I'm braking or cornering a turn. I checked the body bushing and did a visual. Everything seems tight.
View 7 RepliesSo , on my 2002 Ex 4x4 v10 I have a creaking noise coming from what sounds like under the front passenger floor board. My mother said she actually could feel a vibration in the floor when it made the sound today going to lunch. I cannot feel it on my side or the steering wheel. It is intermittent at various speeds and not any more or less prevalent when turning either direction.
Does not seem to interfere in anyway with steering or handling, just driving me nuts. Truck just had new brakes, rotors, and tires installed. Vehicle is new to me, picked it up yesterday. Did not notice it on test drive or 60 mile ride home, but now that I am aware of it , it is driving me nuts. Headed on a long 2 week trip this weekend.
MY '07 SuperCab just started making a strange rhythmic sound as I drive. It is coming from the drivers side front wheel area. It is like a short creaking sound. It stays the same if I am turning the tires. Seems to go away if I put the brakes on hard, but I slow down so much I am not sure. Front CV Joint?
View 1 RepliesTonight on my way home I noticed a slight creaking sound, coming from front driver side, opening the window it was more noticeable. So when I got home I have tried to locate the source, it is the same with or without the engine running & you can hear it by rocking the steering just a little left to right. It sounds like a dry bush, I had my good lady rocking the wheel while I climbed underneath but couldn't pinpoint it, so I climbed up on the fender with my weight on the radiator support & the battery cover, when she turned the wheel the sound was almost gone but as soon as I jumped off it was back! I then tried rocking the truck from the driver side fender & the sound is there but not quite so pronounced, Any other way before I spray everything with WD40 (don't know if you have that over there but it usually quietens things like this!) There is no play on anything anywhere & the truck has only around 32k miles.
View 4 RepliesI have noticed new drivers seat squeak. It only happens with weight transfer side to side at lower speeds ( hard right and hard left below 30 mph, or entering a driveway). I have looked at several posts and it seems like people have had luck with simply tightening the bolts for the seat.
Well I did that and it still making the noise. I have isolated the noise to the lower part of the seat right behind the molding. Behind the molding and behind the seat control switches there is a white box for the switches. It seems like the noise is coming from there. I noticed that if I pop off the control switches and I loosen the screws for the control switches the noise gets a touch better.
I took it to the dealership and they told me they tried to add some oil between the leather and the molding but it did nothing since the source seems to be behind the molding.
My 2 week old IS 350 Ultra white/Red F sport is in the shop for the rattle that feels to me to be under the car under the driver's seat. The dealer cannot figure out the problem after a day, so is keeping my new car. At least they were able to hear the rattle.
View 1 RepliesWe've noticed an audible knocking that sounds to be coming from the front drivers side. It only happens at speed (over 30) and doesn't seem to be engine related. I can feel it under my resting foot while driving. I know this is vague but I think it may be enough to get started on figuring this out.

View 24 RepliesAm I still the only one with an irritating scrunchy sound coming from the left bolster of the driver's seat back?
When the temperature is above 0 Celsius the bolster makes a scrunchy squeak every time I lean back, accelerate, or take off from a stop.
It would appear to be the supplemental air bag material rubbing against the foam or upholstery of the seat.
Toyota says this should be under warranty, but it has been too cold out lately to demonstrate to the service dept.
I know that I could fix it by removing the factory seat cover and tweaking the air bag placement somewhat, but this is not as easy as it sounds, potentially dangerous, and if it is under warranty, I'd prefer the "experts" to address the problem.
Where could this be coming from?? i don't notice any leaks or watermarks on anything else... b5.5 wagon...

View 4 RepliesSo the other day i found a lake on the floor behind the drivers seat. Everywhere else is dry but there. A few days prior I got tapped by a ram enough to crack my rear bumper on the drivers side. I am wondering if the water came in through the crack? Everything is dry though under the spare tire . I know there's vents on the sides behind the bumper, but I don't think I got hit hard enough or at the right angle to bust a seal on the vents. I also blew air through the sunroof drains and they were all clear. Windows were closed and all doors were closed when it rained.
View 8 RepliesI left my car sitting for a while. After the rainy month we had, the rear floor behind the driver seat was soaked. it looked like there was a gallon of water. now everytime it rains there is a pool in the back. I checked the doors, windows sunroof, etc. all good.

View 29 RepliesAfter heavy rains there has been water on the floor behind the drivers seat or down by the pedals (depending on how the car is parked). Is this the result of a bad door seal? It definitely seems to be coming in around the door.

I blamed my kid for this but now I'm not sure. one day she had her water bottle laying on the floor. She picked it up. A few days later I noticed the whole floor behind my seat is soaking wet. Including the mat. I soaked up everything. I'm pretty sure its dry. Patting with a paper towel was dry. We had heavy rain for three days. And behind the driver seat its all wet. Not the mat, but under it. carpet is wet. I dried it up as best as I could but a few days later it's wet again.
The water bottle holds almost a liter of water and I don't know how much spilled. So I can't figure out if its the bottle or not. Like maybe all the water i'm soaking is on the carpet and some of the padding then after a while, water for the surrounding padding is coming up to the surface.
I checked my a/c tube, its clear. I can see water dripping under my car. I don't know where the tubes are for the sunroof. Are they behind the driver seat? Where does it drip outside?
It was raining today and when I went to get in my X i notice water dripping in on the floor in my rubber mats. it was down by the ebrake pedal under the dash. is this a windshield seal problem?
View 14 RepliesWe just 3-inches of rain in 12-hour period and got some water on rug in front of driver seat but standing water to the rear of the drivers seat. We had this problem before and blew out the leaves and debris underneath the screen type cover that runs the width of the front window along the bottom of the window.
View 5 RepliesI love my Ex and I love my dobermann, but the two did not mix one day. In a matter of seconds, he almost chewed completely thru the driver's seat belt. Guess he thought I was taking too long to get out. It's basically hanging on by a quarter inch of fabric and seriously needs replacing.
I figure it can't be that hard to replace myself, but I cannot see how to remove the molding/housing that hides the mechanics of it all. I've been searching for videos, but none of them are for the Ex. :
How I can remove the housing and change the belt myself. Looking for a video or pictures.....
The only control that is working on my driver's seat is the heat. The other controls are not working. I've checked the fuses and tried to recline the seat but that didn't fix. Is there something else I should be looking at?
