I had this happen once and nothing I did would get the heat to come on and it was cold outside. I ended up turning truck off then back on and it worked. What causes this?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2005 Excursion and the A/C Control panel has been blank on 2 different occasions. Upon startup the A/C will not respond to any adjustments and is therefore turned off.
Typically if we turn the Excursion off for several hours, the A/C will start working again. Should I be concerned...
I already know the climate control screen on my 2010 Prius gets scratched easily, but I noticed today that I also have many dust particles under the screen as well. I never touch the screen and I always take the car to the local car wash for cleaning. Is there any way to remove them or is this something I'll have to live with?

View 10 RepliesYesterday all of a sudden the lights on the instrument panel started flashing and the RPM indicator started fluctuating . The RPM indicator would rev and bounce all over the place while the engine was. At a constant speed. Same thin happened before when the alternator went. Next the A/C sort of went and the NAV screen showed Air Condition Diagnosis with no options to change the climate control on the screen. When I got to the car I noticed the 110v ac button was on, not sure how long she had it engaged. I turned if the 110v button and unplugged the battery to reset the computer. All seems fine driving it for 20 miles now.

Once on startup it did not turn on and once while driving it just turned off - as in digital readout is blank and the unit acting as if it has no power. It seems to "fix" itself... What I should be prepared for - bad unit or something else?
View 6 RepliesMy Gauge Cluster and Climate Control lights are out. Both still function properly. The mileage is light up and the turn singles work, the dummy lights even light up but when the headlights come on, the gauges don't illuminate. Same goes for the climate control; it works and the display is good but the buttons don't light up.
I replaced the headlight switch was I wasn't getting power to the light blue/red wire on the dimmer side. (Dr. Google told me to do this) Both failed at the same time so I'm thinking it is not a bulb issue. What to chase next?
So in the past week only on certain days I have lost my ability to change zones for where my nice refreshing cold air blows on me from. It only blows out of the defrost vents. I here a fluttering noise under the dash when this happens. Also under the hood where all the AC hoses and such are located I feel cold air coming from inside the black box just next to what looks like the blower fan assembly. I don't believe I should be feeling that.

View 14 Replies2 days ago I started my car and the centre console screen failed to come on. This meant no a/c, tv, satnav, radio, etc, etc. None of the keys in the centre console worked. Although they were lit up with the car lights on they were not active.
When I used the steering wheel controls to scroll round, it did not come up with any information about phone, radio, position, etc.
My phone however still thought it was connected to the car. Luckily I'm still under warranty and I'm dropping it off today.

Display screen blank- radio and AC work but cant control on touch screen (its blacked out), tried a few tricks that others had suggested
like hold info and cycle lights 4x
removed positive battery cable and replaced
held menu for a minute
etc etc
Gave up. Went to dealer expecting a unpleasant $$ (buy a new nav screen) type of surprise. nope! service writer pulled it in to the shop and ....
Disconnected the NEGATIVE battery cable. Fixed it right away and didn't charge me a thing (shouldn't have anyway) He said that sometimes the computer just gets scrambled and shuts itself off as a precaution. So if you nav screen is blacked out and unresponsive give that a try.
Went to a meeting one evening last week with my 2010 Prius, everything working well. After the meeting we drove away and noticed that most of the dash display was "dark". Driving home and feeling a little gloom as I wondered what it might cost to fix the display problem.
I noticed the poster announcing the meeting we attended was laying on the dash and was pushed up to the display screen. I pulled the poster back an inch and the display came back on !! Pushed it forward and when it got within 1/2 inch of the display, it would blank out ??
It appears the dash display is some sort of bottom projection system to the display screen. Pushing anything up to the display screen blocks that bottom projection and blanks the screen.
RNS810 ... My display went blank even though all the touch screen features are available (but hidden from view). Phoned VW who say there is a software update to address the blank screen issue - will try and get it done tomorrow.
View 1 RepliesWas driving today- had been on the road for about 30 mins, when suddenly the main screen above the center console went blank. It stayed blank for about 20s, and then returned to the A/C screen. I can't remember what it was on before it went blank - but it wasn't A/C. It is as though it's rebooted. It's forgotten what radio band and station it was on, but all other settings seem to have remained. No other sensations in the car - the multifunction display in the instrument cluster didn't blink.

View 3 RepliesThe navigation screen on my recently went blank, while I was driving to my little brother's graduation. I can still see a faint outline of the screen, but other than that, it is hard to see. Have this problem with their navigation screen? I've tried look in the manual for a solution, but it doesn't have anything useful in it. I've googled for the solution as well, but most people said that if I were to bring it into the dealership, they would just replace my whole unit and that would cost $2000 or more, which is a no-go. I've tried to see if it was a fuse, but I got no idea what I'm looking at when I looked at the fuse box. I'm thinking it is maybe the backlight and that it maybe just died. By the way, the screen still works, I can still press on it and select my preset radio stations, but just can't see.

View 2 RepliesFor the past few days, when I press the power button, I hear the beeps and then every dashboard symbol appears - except the Hybrid System Indicator screen is completely dark. The car seems to be turned on - but when I try to put the car in reverse to back out of my garage, it won't change gears. When I go to press Power to shut it down, it takes about 5-10 seconds to shut off.
I found that opening and closing the driver's side door reset something so that the HSI turns on and the car eventually starts.
Recently brought a 2015 camry SE and wouldn't you know it, someone pulls out in front of me on the highway within a week of buying it. After getting the car back from the auto body shop, I've noticed that my multi information display has a blank screen. Didn't notice that before the accident. The first 3 screens I can set up as I want, the 4th screen is tire pressure and the 5th screen is blank. I've tried to find out what the 5th screen should be but I haven't been able to find an answer.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2016 LX570 with 5,000 miles on the odometer. This morning the navigation screen is blank and the radio does not work. Took the truck to the dealer, they said Lexus is aware of the problem but does not have a solution. They will call me back when Lexus figures out what is wrong. No offer to give me a loner with a functional navigation unit.
View 3 RepliesWife said the info screen quit for a block this morning. The radio also stopped at the same time. After a block it came back to normal. Is this a sign of something coming? We have a 2005 genII with 80,000 on it.
