I changed the bulbs in my fog lights as the older ones were very dim. Went to fire them up and nothing. tracked down the fuse under the steering wheel (43 I believe) and it was blown. replaced the fuse, still no fog lights. Checked new fuse, and it is fine. changed it with a different one (you never know) and still no fog lights. Is there a separate fuse/relay somewhere else that I may be missing?

View 14 RepliesI just bought new DS1 8k bulbs to replace my aging 6k bulbs. It was a sinch to install and seemed too good to be true. Well i turn my car on and the check bulbs light came on and low and behold the lights do not turn on. The dealership said it would not matter whether I had 6k before and bought 8k but it seems like this might be the issue.
View 4 RepliesI installed new headlights today and the headlight bulbs are not lighting. When I turn the headlight's on the high beam indicator remains lit no matter if the high beams are on or not. I should note that this style headlight has a separate bulb for low and high beams. I am skeptical that all four headlight bulbs are bad. Is it possible the wiring for the connector is not correct?

View 2 Repliesmy EX is a 2000 XLT 6.8 4WD I have 146,000 on it. Last week I replaced the expansion tank with a new one, went just fine no leaks, new prestone at 50/50, today she overheated to the red so I changed the thermostat, still overheating, no leaks fluid level good. What am I missing ????
View 14 RepliesI've been having trouble with my 2000 EX recently, I've had to replace the serpentine belt 3 times in the last year and a half. Nothing looks out of place but I really don't know enough about this engine yet to say that conclusively. I've been using the regular belts from napa, so this time I ordered the HD belt. Is there something that I need to look at that maybe misaligned that could be shredding these belts

View 3 RepliesI put a re manufactured alternator in my 2000 f150 with the 5.4 liter. Now all the lights flicker, go dim and then come back on bright again. I noticed when the lights dim, the heater fan speed also drops. The light flickering is constant and bad enough, that I can notice it in daylight also with the headlights on. It is really noticeable at night with the truck in drive (or any gear for that matter) sitting at a stop sign or sitting still in my driveway. I changed out the old alternator because it was making a loud chattering noise. I didn't have any trouble with the lights or fan with the old alternator. Why doesn't the battery volt gauge in my instrument cluster fluctuate all the time while it is doing this? It reads in the normal range all the time and doesn't move. The flickering lights are also noticeable at highway speeds, its just not as bad.

View 7 RepliesLast weekend, while i was replacing a brake light bulb on my daughters car (!) , i had to use my car to get the bulb from the local store and guess what my "check lights" warning came on and since then a broken light bulb is showing on the left side of the center display and it does not go away anymore.
I have now at least checked every (visible) light bulb on the car twice and I can not find any bad one. Yesterday I checked the fuses and again all are fine.
Looking through the owners handbook (section 3 and 4), i can not even find any mentioning of the "bad light bulb" symbol.
So, here are my questions:
Is the orange (turnsignal) bar under the headlights used for anything else ?
One of the bulbs went out on our RX400H and I wanted to see if there is a way to access the fog light bulbs to change them without taking off the front bumper? Also, I heard that the fog lights are a H11 but other sources say its a 9006.

View 2 RepliesI tried to convert the bulbs in my dashboard with LED bulbs..and it worked for about a month and stop working..then about a week after not having any dash lights. They came back on...but like a strobe, but not all the time..... And then it'll be fine? I'm also looking Into doing a taillight conversion to LEDs.

I bought my car 1/31/11 (so I'm still under warranty... barely) but here is my history with bulb replacement:
3/22/12 -- 14,251 miles -- driver side headlamp out
6/27/12 -- 17,322 miles -- passenger side headlamp out
6/19/13 -- 27,783 miles -- driver side headlamp out (although was taken in for a passenger side, side marker light)
7/16/13 -- 28,987 miles -- passenger side marker light out (the one that they didn't replace on 6/19/13)
1/22/14 -- 33,759 miles -- driver side head lamp and side marker out
Six bulbs in under 3 years???? Granted these have all be replaced under warranty but the next one won't be despite the fact it's an ongoing issue and that concerns me. I know I'm spoiled because I had a 2002 Honda before the Subaru and in 12 years (mom is now driving it) and 100+k miles I've replaced 1 burnt out bulb.
I have a 99 Forester L. My headlights, taillights, fog lights and dash lights don't work. checked all fuses both under hood and on driver side. Relays are fine bulbs are good as well as switch its self.
