My keyless keypad has stopped working on my 04 Excursion, what could be wrong.
View 7 Replies2004 Excursion 4x4 6.0. I just had the fuel injectors & wiring harness replaced and it runs great, but after 30 minutes of driving the complete dash lights/gauges stopped working. I found that the #45 10amp fuse had blown so replaced it and after 20 minutes the same thing happened. While it was working all of the lights & gauges seemed to be working okay. This doesn't effect anything else, still starts & runs okay, turn signals work, head lights work, but the head light auto on/off doesn't.
View 4 RepliesI have a 1991 F-250 Supercab with the 7.3 L Diesel and twin fuel tanks.Recently the gauge sender for the forward tank stopped working. Ford tells me that the sending unit is obsolete. Perhaps they want me to buy a new truck. I recently found a NOS sender on E-bay but it is supposedly for the plastic fuel tank and mine is the steel tank. What steps would I need to take to make this sender work in my truck? Do I need to eliminate a ground wire, add aground wire, or make up insulators to prevent the sender shorting out on the steel tank?
View 2 RepliesMy Mom used my Ex to take the kids to the park today. When I went to unlock it with the fob.... NOTHING! I thought maybe a bad battery, but when I got home and tried the other one it didn't work either. Is there a fuse or something that would have gone bad? Everything else in the truck is working fine except for the remotes.
View 13 RepliesMy fuel gauge is not working, nor is the cruise control, Had the truck looked at, was told the cruise was not working due to the fuel gauge not working?
Also when he hooked it up was told the dash gauge worked fine and the computer showed 60% which would have been about right based on mileage on the tank. My guess is that I need a sending unit?
I have stock 02 F350 7.3 with 74,000 miles ... Today i looked down and noticed my RPM gauge sitting there at 0 ... It was working just fine yesterday. I figured before i go digging around looking for the issue id see what is causing it not to read ..
View 3 RepliesI have a 2003 F250, 4x4, 5.4L and today my fuel gauge stopped working. I don't know if it had anything to do with a stall, I was on an exit ramp and the truck cut off, I quickly restarted and no issues after that. Other than the fuel gauge not working at this point.
I looked at the fuse panel diagram and there is no fuse for just the fuel gauge. The only thing I see is #35, instrument cluster. The rest of my instruments are working, so what else would cause the fuel gauge to stop working? It had a little over a half of a tank before the stall, after the stall it went down to less than half. I filled up shortly later and it's just stuck at less than half.
My overhead with temp, compass and mpg stopped working.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2000 ex with the 05 front end. My headlight on the right side stopped working I have the high just no low. I replaced it and still no go. I suck at wiring so what to look for..
View 3 RepliesMy A/C has just stopped working and I am looking for some pointers on how to diagnose the problem. The vent and blower still works, just no cold air coming out? Where do I start?

Coming home tonight, I lost all the instrument cluster gauges. Speedometer, tachometer, fuel, oil, temperature and transmission temperature.
So the logical thing to do was check both instrument cluster fuses, fuse 35 and fuse 41. They were both OK.
Kept looking and found fuse #45 blown, it's the "Ignition switch Run/ Start feed" fuse. It was blown.
Popped in a new one and gauges came back to life. I don't know why fuse #45 controls power to the instrument cluster gauges. Strange.
All five clearance lights on my cab stopped working, and I can't figure out why. I've read all the threads, but few show the wiring, and are more useful for installing than troubleshooting. I think I have the Ford SKU'd ones, not the Recons, but I can't say for sure. Here's what one of them looks like:
My questions:
1) How do you remove the bulb from the rubber mount? Just pulling it out didn't work.
2) Is there a fuse somewhere (in the harness, perhaps?) that protects these things? All my overhead console functions and lighting work fine.
3) Is their only connection to the vehicle wiring at the harness connector behind the passenger kick panel? I checked it, and it is well connected.
4) Is there a connection on the headlight switch? I've not checked there.
I bought this vehicle 14 years ago and they were already installed, and have worked perfectly since then. I hate stuff that doesn't work...
Having this issue and what could be the solution?
View 8 RepliesI have a 1990 volvo 240 dl and the gas gauge no longer works. Just wondering if there's anything I can do to fix it.
View 1 RepliesThis morning I started my car and all was well, all gauges working. Drove 2 miles and stopped to get gas. Put some gas in my car and started it back up. My gas gauge never went up. Stayed slammed down to the E. All my other gauges were working normally except the gas. My gas light was not on saying I was on E, and I don't have a CEL.
View 5 RepliesMy fuel gauge just quit working along with the "miles till refuel" in the message center on my R. Before I suck it up with a trip to the dealer, Is there a sensor on the fuel tank that goes bad?
View 3 RepliesThe water level is up, the heater hose is hot on both sides of the heater hose bypass valve, the MtrCrft thermo is pretty new, but it blows cool air out the vents even after a half hour of driving. It was working great last week and then nothing. I guess you can see the blend door moving if you pop the glove box out?..........haven't tried that.
View 14 RepliesOne day it work and the next day it didn't. I checked the 15a fuse and it was good. What else should I be looking at?
View 12 RepliesSo the gas gauge stopped working correctly over the winter and now in addition to that the DIC is telling me "Check the gas cap". I put a new GM cap on, the filler neck was rusty so I sanded it and applied some oil to the lip of the neck and the cap.
DTC code is 440 and I keep getting informed to check the gas cap. The car has 120k miles on it.
Driving home from work today, normal day in the high 60s, my temp gauge randomly stopped working. It was right at the 190 mark where it should be then a few miles from my house it just dropped to 0. When I got to my house and turned it off the fans stayed on for quite a few minutes.
I went inside and looked around on a few different forums. Most people said it was the thermostat or some sensor that could have crapped out.
Probably 30 minutes later I went out to restart it hoping the problem magically disappeared and it actually did. Start up and went straight up to 190 as it should. Turned it off to no fans as usual.
What this could be? Could it just be a sensor on the way out? Still under warranty so might try calling the dealer tomorrow when they open to ask for their input.
Just as reference my car is a 2011 with about 48k and is revo stage 1 for about 3k.
