I have a problem with the TPMS of my '04 Phaeton.
Sensors have already been exchanged, still the car seems to have a problem with the tires of one axis. It displays a number in the middle reflecting the tire's pressure, but there is no "OK" or caution label in the boxes right and left to the car symbol.
This problem can also not be solved by (proper) calibration.
My father put my f150 into reverse he says he didn't gas it. It was 2-3 feet in between the cars and the hitch went into the bottom grill below the front license plate. Coolant is leaking from the left side between the radiator and the block. Now the trucks hitch didn't go far enough to hit the radiator, or anything else I can see. I have cleaned the coolant and am in the waiting process try to identify the location. I believe that it is oozing from the water pump ( most of the coolant is underneath it), on the other hand there is coolant also by the radiator just not as much. I have the ability to fix this just not the tools. My family is going to take it to the dealer ship I just do not want them to get finagled around.
View 3 Replies2004 4.6 V8 Trition ,two wheel drive, STX Pickup. By removing the bottom radiator hose, will that allow all engine coolant to be drained from engine? If not, about how much coolant will remain in the engine in terms of quarts or percentage of total vehicle coolant capacity?
View 1 RepliesHad a grinding noise in my front end, left side. Found the hub was bad so got it replaced. Now I still have a grinding noise that comes and goes. If I hit a bump, it starts the grinding noise but nothing constant. Had the front end checked and nothing was obvious. Was trying different things and when I put it in 4WD, with the switch on the dash, the noise goes away. What to try next?
View 2 RepliesOur headlights work fine in regular mode. when we turn on the brights only the left side is working. I thought it was the bulb, but replaced them this morning. Still having the same problem. Thoughts?
View 3 Replies2003 Ex rwd 6.0l 125,000 miles. The complete rear left side door is stuck shut and has been for about 6 months. This is not a side door, but the very back where the lift gate is. I sprayed wd40 in there, nothing. It won't budge. If its a broken cable inside, how to I take off the interior door panel to get to the access holes and actuator on that door or both doors on the tailgate?
View 11 RepliesAlright i have one here to stump everyone.... My uncle called me and his 05 f150 STX left speakers both front and back aren't working. I took a look at it the other day, i switched his radio with my radio from my 06 f150 stx, then I switched my front speaker out. Didn't work. I looked at his back speaker and the magnet on the speaker was stuck in the door. I checked fuses and don't see any blown.
View 1 RepliesI opened up my hood yesterday to check on everything and happened to notice that my radiator cap was gone. I don't know if I just forgot to put it back on the last time I checked my coolant or what happened, but I of course immediately bought another one and put that on. What happened to the old one. Looked all through the engine and didn't see a cap laying in there anywhere.
Anyway, do I have anything to be worried about? My truck has never overheated or anything. I really don't know how long I was driving around with that cap off. The coolant was a little low in the radiator but actually not too bad. Only had to add a little to get it back to the top. Should I be worried that this caused any damage in any way or am I OK since I never overheated?
I have an 06 with a 5.4 with 70k on it and I have already had to do the exhaust manifolds twice, once covered by warrantee at 19k, then again around 40k and now at 74k I have a major leak from the left side manifold again

My trailer left turn signal and brake light stopped working. The running lights work on the trailer. The lights all work on the truck. I am hooked up to a 2007 F150 and it all worked 'yesterday.' not sure where to start.
View 6 RepliesI successfully replaced the radiator on my 2003 Ford excursion (LMD, V10, gas). I filled her up with coolant and started her and turned on the air full blast.
Noticed though that she is now leaking somewhere between the engine and the transmission pan.Where and what to check?
I have a 2004 Excursion 4x4 with only 85k. miles on it. My problem is that there is a water leak on the drivers side, either around the windshield or door weather strip. I say weather strip, because when I opened the door this morning, after a very heavy rain last night, there was some moisture on the inside of the door where the seal should have stopped it. My wife saw water on the emergency break pedal, and has felt a couple drops on her foot.
This is my second EX with the same problem, except the first one, a 2000 model, was much worse. It was leaking down on the GEM and fuse box. Replacing the windshield did not even slow the leak down. After several attempts to fix the problem with no luck, I decided to sell. I don't want to sell this one, but if I can't fix the leak before the electrical problems start, I won't have a choice.
I changed out my front springs awhile ago and recently pulled off the track bar and replaced the bushings with Energy suspension bushings.
Today I noticed that the Ex is sitting a bit low on the drivers side. I measured from the bottom of the fender to the ground, drivers side 40 inches, passenger side 40 1/2 inches.
It was really hard getting the track bar back in after the bushing change. Would an adjustable track bar fix this?
This is for a 2004 Excursion 4x4 with a 6.0. Bilstein shocks, approx 1 1/2 years old.
I did all the flushing, cap, thermostat, 50/50 antifreeze, etc, fixes but when I floor it going up an on ramp on an 85 degree day it will go into limp mode / fail safe mode. Bottom hose?
View 9 RepliesYou will get wet but not scalded but is nice to get it done and not that hard. (revised).
1; Pull the cap, bottom hose, and open the petcock on a cold engine.
2; Remove the thermostat with a 10mm socket (easy) and put the housing back on lightly.
3; Install garden hose in top and turn on full blast, and turn the heater on.
4; Start the engine, grab the hanging bottom hose and push it onto the bottom radiator neck about 1/4", wait a couple minutes until the garden hose overflows at the top of the plastic radiator chamber. (yes you will get wet), pull the bottom hose loose, repeat 3-4 times until the dirty water is scavenged from the block and rad. (important step).
5; Shut off water at garden hose, stop the engine, replace the bottom hose and replace the thermostat with the 195 degree one (stock) if it hasn't been done lately. (they don't last and work well forever) The rubber O-ring goes on the top.
6; Start the engine and run the garden hose at the top the same speed as the water is coming out the petcock at the bottom. Note how clear the water is coming out and idle the engine until is runs clear. (about 10 minutes). The water might get hot at this time but you're not under the truck at this point.
7; Stop the engine, close the petcock, remove the heater hose from the front of the intake manifold, put 3 to 4 gallons of undiluted antifreeze in (50% undiluted antifreeze 50/50 will give you a range of 34 degrees BELOW zero to +265 degrees F) , fill with distilled water until the water comes out the pipe fitting on the manifold, replace hose, fill to line, and check the level every day for the next 2-3 days.
This is on my 05. I assume its for fog lights. Is that correct? If so, where is the fog light switch? I don't have one near my headlight switch. Is this one of those things where everyone gets the harness, but the option is only on the switch if equipped?
Here is the harness....
I took the plastic cover in front of the radiator off to clean the radiator and condenser. It directs air through the condenser before it gets to the radiator and I was wondering if it would cool the engine without it (if you don't need real cold ac air) . Without it the air can go over the top of the condenser and it is still blocked by the flap that stops airflow above the radiator. Also, I am wondering if the fact that the condenser has nothing in it affects the radiator cooling, and is it bad for the AC system to be empty. (My AC doesn't work)
View 7 RepliesIf my coolant temp runs around 185, how does the the radiator to cool the transmission fluid if it goes to the radiator after the tranny cooler?
View 10 RepliesI have a 2000 Ex with 252,000 miles. Where it is extremely hilly (Ozark Mountains). I tow a 6400 lb travel trailer. What I am having problems with is the Ex is running extremely hot when towing and climbing hills. Not in the red, but damn close. No problems what so ever when not towing. No problems when towing on level ground. I know the Ex is working hard, but I want to keep it running cooler. I have flushed the radiator literally 20 times and have done 2 chemical flushes. Is it time to just replace the radiator? How many passes does the stock radiator have? What about a bigger water pump? I have the 5.4 motor, which I love so no bashing my little V8. It has all the power I need. I don't need to climb hills doing 90mph.
