Ford Excursion :: Back Up Sensors Constantly Beeping

So when I put truck in reverse my back up sensors constantly beep. Not a beep beep beep like they are supposed to. More like a annoying Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep . Doesn't do this all of the time but most of the time.

Ford Excursion :: 2003 - Back Hatch Won't Lock?

Had my 2003 7.3X for a couple months now. Noticed the back hatch will not lock. Hatch will not lock when you push the lock button on the door or the remote.

The second issue is that my ignition key (the only one I got with car) does not turn the lock on the hatch.

Ford Excursion :: Misfiring - O2 Sensors Out?

So Wife did this nice "How-To" for the site and then we celebrated with a trip to Steak N' Shake. Halfway there I could feel it running a little off so I pulled up the app on the phone and connected it. I pulled up the codes and this is what I got.

So am I looking at an O2 sensor you think? It's shifting early and chugging a little as well. When driving it sounds a little like I have dual exhaust or a flowmaster. When sitting still at a light there is a small bump like bass turned WAY low coming from the exhaust as well. I turned around halfway there and went home and we took the wife's Highlander

Ford Excursion :: 2003 - Lights Not Turning Off After Replacing Back Hatch

I have a 2003 Excursion. I shut the back hatch the other day and the window completely shattered. I bought another one from the junk yard.

My husband replaced it and everything seems to fit right and it closes down and it looks nice. Problem is now the interior lights wont shut off at all.

Running board lights are on as well. We have had to un-hook the battery to keep it from running down. Is there a sensor or something that needs to be reset?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Check Back Up Sensors Message

Nothing mechanical, fuel filter change and coolant check. While its there I am going to have them look at a few things:

1. Back up sensors - they work intermittently with a message that comes up saying "check back up sensors" or something to that affect on the display. The icon on the display that lets you check off or on will not let you put a check mark next to "on" after you push the "OK" button to get out of the check message. There is nothing coating the bumper/sensors (mud or anything).

2. Blinkers - sometimes, out of the blue, my left turn signal comes on and it doesn't like to go off. I have to push the blinker wand down to the second full position then back, or repeat if it comes back on. It is almost always the left blinker. It also happens sometimes when I start the truck.

3. Windshield wipers - sometimes if I go from the remote start to key power in the morning I get the windshield wipers going. So I will turn them on with the dial and back off. This is pretty rare.

4. The Ford emblems are starting to corrode.

5. I might have them look at the cruse control - sometimes I can get the light to come on the dash and go to green when I push the + button, but it doesn't hold the speed. I have to shut the truck off and restart all the electronics for it to start working again.

How to check the back up sensors? My gut tells me with the rest of the issues that unless they can repeat and verify my "complaints" they won't be able to do anything. There probably isn't a code thrown for the blinkers going on at will. Is there anything I might be able to do to fix it? Or do these issues require parts being replaced - which we're back to square 1 with being able to verify what it's doing at the dealer?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: No Back-up Sensors After Remote Start Install

I have read countless threads and have done research and can't figure out my issue. Had remote start installed in the truck a month ago. The day it was installed sensors were working. I left the shop and went to back in and noticed they didn't work and the light popped when in reverse and sometime it will the random beeping. I did the check and found the inner right sensor was not buzzing. So ordered four from eBay and it still doesn't work. I even switched one of the others out thinking it was the eBay special issue. It didnt work so it's just that sensor. Now what? I have checked the wiring under the truck and it all looks good. What's my next step? Could the remote start have taken just one sensor out?

Ford Excursion :: Backup Sensors Not Working - Light Always On

I can't find any info about this "always on" reverse light issue. My searches show that most people with the problem only have it when they put it in to revers. Mine's broken but the light is on all of the time indicating it's not working.

I can go through the sensors, but I think the system only recognizes sensor failures when the car is in reverse. What's my first/next step?

Ford Excursion :: Removal Of Backup Sensors In Rear Bumper?

My Excursion had a mangled rear bumper when I bought it recently. I just bought a salvage one to replace it. I had it installed today. I want to salvage the backup sensors in the old bumper along with the license plate lights. How do these come out? They seem locked in there to me.

Ford Excursion :: Backup Sensors - Fast Ticking From Only One Sensor

Ok, so it seems I have 3 bad backup sensors on the 2002 Ex. Background information for those considering a repair:

I put the Ex in reverse, key in run and can hear "fast ticking" from only one sensor. Sensor removal is easy (at lease on the two outside sensors). Two tabs on the black housing in the bumper hold the cylindrical sensor in place. Release the two tabs and work the sensor out. I haven't tried to remove the bad inside sensor yet as there is a lot less room to work there.

Once removed, a single tab on the wiring harness connector holds the sensor in place.

Here is the problem I have. I can't get the sensor to LOCK back into the connector. I have backed the connector against the bumper and pushed on the sensor with all my strength and I cannot get it to lock back into the single tab on the connector.

Is there a trick I am missing? I am ready to try vice grips but I fear I will damage the connector.

Ford Excursion :: Addition Of Backup Sensors On Chrome Bumper Without Drilling

I'd really like to add these to The Beast, but don't want to drill through chrome. My bumper has some plastic running along the top (see pic). Just looking for info for the same bumper mounted the sensors there with success.

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Check Engine Light Came On For O2 Sensors

I have a 1997 ford f 150 with a 4.2 ltr v6 the check engine light came on so i took it to autozone and had the code pulled. They told me that the o2 sensor bank2 sensor 1 which is before the converter had a slow response so i checked the wiring and bought the o2 sensor. They told me bank 2 is the passenger side but well i changed the1st sensor on the passenger side and reset the code and drove the truck about 130 miles . and the light came back on. After reading a few posts. I think they told me wrong is the drivers side bank 2 or is the passenger side bank 2 ...

Ford - Taurus - Sensors :: 2003 - Occasional Chirping Sound With The Engine Running

2003 Ford Taurus, Vulcan V6 (OHV), 40k miles. I picked it up in January, occasionally I would hear a "chirp" sound with the engine running. I assumed it was the serpentine belt and replaced it. It seemed to work.

Today the chirping started once the car was warmed up. I did some research and discovered the chirp sound is a symptom of a worn synchronizer. I checked with a mechanics stethoscope and verified the chirp is coming from the area of the synchronizer.

I'm debating doing the repair myself, regardless I won't do the repair until the weather warms up. It not my primary car, but I would still like to drive it a couple times a week. The chirping is intermittent for the moment. Am I risking anything driving it as is?

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Vacuum Leak - Error Codes Indicating Bad O2 Sensors

I am having problems with a 2003 Ford F 150 with a 4.2 L V6. The problem is that it is giving me code errors that would indicate bad O2 sensors. I replaced both the upper and lower O2 sensors, and still I get the same codes. I was told by the mechanic with the computer reader that this usually means a bad vacuum seal. He suggested looking for bad hoses, but did not offer much more than that. How to proceed?

Ford Excursion :: Passenger Window Down By Itself But Won't Go Back?

My wife took my '05 Excursion diesel to work today with temps near zero. Got the sticky doors open for her and sprayed the seals with silicone so they won't freeze shut again. I don't think the spray has anything to do with this problem, but thought I'd mention it since I used it this morning.

At lunchtime she got in the truck, started it, and the electric passenger window behind the driver went down by itself and now won't go back up. All the other windows (and door locks) continue to operate properly. Thinking that perhaps some ice/water might be shorting out the circuit, I tried banging on and slamming the door, as well as "futzing" with both switches (drivers door and the switch on the problem door) with no change.

Also, I haven't had the door panels off the X, so if there are any tricks to popping the electric panel out without breaking retaining hardware....

Ford Excursion :: Back Right Passenger Window Won't Go Up

Rolled all the windows down(for the first time) to play some tunes. All of them went down like they should and all came back up but the back right passenger window. hit the switch...nothing, not even a tick like its trying to do something, it went down fine and dandy but is now totally dead. Figured it was the master switch on drivers door, spent the last two hours taking that apart, got down to the switch connections, cleaned connections and put back together...still nothing. At this point a really need to get it back up somehow(rain moving in), me and my brother tried jumping the connector, made some sparks fly but never got it up. mashing it hard, taking other switches from other doors, have tried all that and it still wont go up..er know.

Ford Excursion :: Slap Back Going Over Bumps?

I've noticed that my Ex has an odd noise when driving over minor bumps like repaired potholes. It doesn't do it over larger bumps. Hard to describe, but it's like a "slap-back" after hitting the bump. Sounds like a dull thud that's apparently coming from the right front. Sounds like the wheel is hitting the bump twice.

Anyhow, after working underneath...and checking for things that are loose, worn, etc...I found nothing. The truck has just under 41,000 miles. The only thing that seemed to be a bit off was the right front shock. I pulled them all while painting/cleaning up...and of course, each one expanded immediately. This one didn't. Once it was compressed fully..it did expand but not as quickly as the others. (In order to get back on the road, I put it back.)

So, before I start throwing parts at this truck. My initial thought is that this one shock is weak and isn't keeping the front wheel planted.

All that being said, I could swap the shocks side to side and see if the noise moves. But....it's difficult to move gas shocks around so if it's thought that shocks could be the case..I'd just put new ones on. (Any recommendation?)
