Ford Excursion :: 2002 - Swap 2nd Row Bench Seat For One With Full LATCH System
Jun 22, 2016
What model year(s) 2nd row bench seats that have a factory LATCH system will fit in a 2002 Ford Excursion to replace the seat that is missing the anchors that are between seat bottom and seat back?

I have seen plenty of the king ranch models that have the rear Captains chairs. My question is, I have a 03 Lariat Crew Cab w/ a bench seat, however, I would like to remove the bench and put 2 captains chairs in the back. Is this possible without lots of interior body modifications?

What the use for the flat plate behind the second row bench seat? The velco pieces are not holding this thing up anymore, is there a way to fix this or can I take it off and thow in the trash...

I'm thinking about swapping from captains chairs to bench seats in the 2nd row of my 04 Limited Ex with tan leather. I'd like to mount an amp or 2 under it.

2003 Ex, EB, bench style middle row. I have owned less than a year.
Purchased with a broken latch assembly the drivers side middle row...promptly replaced for $70. Today, it is broke again, less than a year. I am going to do some more investigating as to HOW this happened TWICE.
Chipped, broken housing on their middle latch assembly? It breaks the black part first, which holds the guts in alignment....once the black part slips down or up to far...the guts do not function.

I want some honest opinions on whether a spring swap is worth the money and time to make the ride better and less harsh of ride. I currently have a completely stock 02' 7.3 4x4 Excursion with 204,000 miles. I have been reading a lot on the spring swap and really want to know if it's worth it for the sole purpose of ride and keeping the front off the bumpstops. I don't tow enough to justify it for that reason , and could live without the lift portion because I use it for a daily and family hauler. I experience some sway but not terrible ,but I do believe my shocks are shot as well and I have hit the front bumpstops a few times over railroad tracks.

I was wondering if the 2nd row bucket seats in a 2003 ex can be replaced with a bench seat. are the brackets in the same location?

Got an 03 f250 supercab, and looking to get rid of the old front bench seat for 2 regular front seats and installing a big middle console, will this be kinda hard? I got in my truck now the driver seat is seperate from the 2 seater bench seat and it has the flip down middle console to where you can flip it up for somebody to sit in the middle or flip it down for the cup holders etc.. I want to get rid of that and just have the 2 front seats and an big middle console. I think some of the 1998-2003 f150 come with this set up

I have a 2002 Limited with an issue with my driver's seat. The heater works but I cannot get the seat to move forward/backward etc. The passenger side works and I've switched the fuses around so it isn't the fuse.

I just bought a 2002 Excursion limited. It has a tiny flip-down screen in the roof and a VHS player in the back of the center console. I would like to install a larger-screen flip down DVD system, but do not want to chop things up. In other words, what options are out there for a stock-appearing setup with larger screen?

I'd like to know if a 2nd row captains seat can be use as a replacement for the 1st row driver's. I'm referring to the seat section itself, not the entire frame. I found some excellent condition seats but they are from the 2nd row. My Aero is a '95 and I don't know(yet) which year van the seats came out of.

So I have a broken seat latch on the right side. I can't get the seat to go down because the handle comes out as a whole. Also when I look deeper, the white plastic piece that appears to be associated with it is also broken. How can I unlatch the seats to fold them down?

I traded from a 2011 F-250 XLT recently with premium package to a 2015 F-350 Lariat, but the truck we found didn't come with a couple of the features that I loved in my last truck. I live in western Nebraska, and travel very regularly to western North Dakota and central Illinois for my business. The truck has 5200 miles (had the truck for 1 month ), but everything is still in great condition and would hope for the same in return.

After a 7 year love affair with our 2005 6.0L Excursion, we bought another 6.0L today - a 2006 F250 Crew Cab. It came with front buckets/console, and the used car lot (all diesel trucks...) was nice enough to let us swap the seats out with another 2006 F250 Crew Cab on the lot that had the front captains' chairs with the center seat.
Their upholstery guy did the work with the captains' chairs, but for liability reasons they wouldn't bolt the jumpseat in, since the truck we bought didn't have the studs in place. So, they sent it home with us and we're faced with putting it in. No problem, right?
Well... we found the place for the bolts to go, and thought we were home free. BUT... (see photo) - what have we done wrong?? The first photo (driver's side bolt of center seat) is fine, but the passenger side bolt hole is too close to where the front passenger seat needs to bolt in.

Is it ok to install a convertible car seat, in forward facing position, in the middle of the rear seat?
I only ask because i noticed the LATCH tethers at the bottom on the left and right side, but not a pair in the middle. However, there is oddly 3 top anchors on the backside of the back seat. So the middle anchor is making me wondering whether it's ok to use the LATCH anchors in the middle position.
If it matters, we have a Britax Marathon 70. My wife wants us to drive an SUV for our trip and I want to use the prius... The huge SUV has LATCH anchors in the middle position as well as the side positions (i.e. for a total of 6 anchors, or 3 pairs, in the SUV vs. the 4 anchors or 2 pairs that I see in the prius).

I have an '01 Santa Fe and love it, except for the fact that I can no longer fold the passenger side of my rear seat. We recently moved and I guess one of the kids put the rear seats back up and didn't think to make sure that the strap that goes to the latch release was where it belonged, because now it's stuck under the seat. Actually, I think it may be stuck in the latch itself. My sis (a proud '05 SF owner) and I have tried everything we can think of to free it - it was actually quite comical to watch - but no luck. We can feel the strap but we can't get a good grip on it and can't really move it. It folds under the seat right where the latch is, that's why I think it's stuck in the latch.
