I have an 01 V10 4x4 with front end noise. I've done steering linkages and sway bar bushings. The clunks are gone but I'm left with some creaks when the body sways.
View 10 RepliesSo , on my 2002 Ex 4x4 v10 I have a creaking noise coming from what sounds like under the front passenger floor board. My mother said she actually could feel a vibration in the floor when it made the sound today going to lunch. I cannot feel it on my side or the steering wheel. It is intermittent at various speeds and not any more or less prevalent when turning either direction.
Does not seem to interfere in anyway with steering or handling, just driving me nuts. Truck just had new brakes, rotors, and tires installed. Vehicle is new to me, picked it up yesterday. Did not notice it on test drive or 60 mile ride home, but now that I am aware of it , it is driving me nuts. Headed on a long 2 week trip this weekend.
2001 F 150 5.4 V8 4WD. I have a weird creaking sound coming from the front end, sounds like the passenger side, whenever I turn right at any speed. What it is?
View 6 RepliesIt's time to replace the struts at 205,000 miles. Driver front is sticking and creaking. The dust boot was all ripped up. Either way the car is pretty boaty but I've never had a fresh Prius to compare it too. I got my car with 186K. I'd love to firm up the ride a bit but do see too many options. I see KYB GR2's, Monroe and Gabriel struts available. The car could use about 20% stiffer springs and some bigger sway bars. Any interchangeablilty with Corollas? They should have made a Prius S from the factory.

It has ST coilovers already and read a post from the previous owner here and he said the noise started after the install and he was told ot was the upper mounts??? Does this sound correct?? Also i noticed it when parked and just turning the wheel back and forth, popped the hood and had my son turn it and it did sound like it was coming from the upper strut area....

View 4 RepliesWhen coming to a stop and turning the wheels to the left, there is a creaking noise from the right front strut. This is also the strut that has an ever so small clunking noise when going over small bumps at low speeds. If I turn left at low speeds but don't apply the brakes, there is no creaking sound.
Car has 42,000 miles, original Michelins and original front brakes (50% pad left), and original struts!
My front passenger wheel began creaking when driving over uneven surfaces after work was done on 12/29/14 to replace the wheel bearing, stud, and nut for the right front. I've been dealing with this noise for 1.5 years, but to my luck, when I take a test drive with a mechanic, it does not reveal itself, so they will not take a detailed look at it and open it up. It is more prominent in cold weather. Pushing down on the front of the car for a strut test does not produce the noise.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2010 base blue. I have noticed a creaking noise somewhere in the front end with windows up when you turn the wheels left or right. It is barely noticeable but there none the less. I have tried pinpointing it and it seems to be outside the cabin but not at the wheels.

View 6 RepliesI have some noise coming from the front suspension. It is a popping/sorta creaking noise. I hear it mostly when turning, but sometimes while going straight. It is not a grinding sound, nor is it a high pitched sound. I took it to my mechanic, but they drove it and could not replicate the noise. They inspected the front end, and said everything looked fine. But I still hear the noise. The car has a little over 40k miles on it. No problems with the tires...no irregular wear, and no wandering. I looked at the front end, and didn't find anything obvious. I cannot replicate the noise just by pushing on the fenders up and down.
View 64 RepliesDriving 2012 Elantra with 29K on the Meter in AZ with temps at 105 degrees. I am getting a clicking clunking noise. Dealership said Strut mounts and replaced them. Drove it off the lot and the noise was still there. Wont go back to that dealership. Creaking clunking noise more frequently now and has shifted from the passenger side to the driver side predominantly. End links? Axles? Brake assembly, Hub? I first heard it when I went over a speed bump at 3-5 mph. Now it can be heard upon acceleration-deceleration, deceleration in neutral with brake only gets the loudest clunk on the Driver side. Ultimately its now constant on turns, bumps, rough roads & even smooth roads while changing lanes. What is causing this.
View 5 RepliesMy parents have a 2007 hyundai santa fe AWD and recently there is this creaking noise from the front end when you have the car in reverse and you're foot on the brake and turn on the wheel, I had someone in the car and I stood outside it sounds like its coming from the center of the wheel near the hub it has that sound like a rusty door hinge, is there a problem with front wheel bearings on these cars we had the two rear ones replaced under warranty because of a humming thrumming noise and now there is a humming thrumming noise again but hard to tell if front or rear and the tires are in good condition no cupping.
Is there an easy way to check the hubs on these cars besides the normal move the tire up and down for play. By the way the car has 105000 kms on it...
I noticed that it started recently and does it consistently... When I accelerate from a stop there is a creaking/popping noise that comes from the front of the car. It is difficult to pinpoint but you can make it do it every time and it only happens from a complete stop. My '12 only have 6k on it.

I usually notice it going over dips at some times, and most when I make a right turn into a raised road. Otherwise, not a peep out of the car.
View 19 RepliesFront end noise in 2006 Sonatas? I would refer to this as a creaking noise heard inside the vehicle while going slower...such as in parking lots and neighborhood driving. Sounds to be from the strut area to me. Going to try to take into dealership next week. Seems like right after i got the rear suspension noise fixed (Replaced struts) then i hear the front end making noise.
View 36 RepliesI have a 1991 Toyota Corolla Wagon (150,000 miles) with noise coming from right front wheel well. My car is making groaning and creaking noises like the hinges of an old wooden door. CV joints serviced <5000 miles and the boots are clean and intact. There is no clicking noises during a turn Left or Right. Bouncing the right front corner does not replicate the sounds, tho' there is some slight squeaking noise not heard from the shocks/struts in the other corners. The sound is NOT heard in the morning going to work, but is very noticeable driving home at 5pm. I notice the sound going downhill at 35 mph, but goes away with light braking, Going over railroad tracks does not affect the noises. I'm thinking this could be worn bushings, strut mounts or who knows what?
View 1 RepliesI am considering purchasing a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. It seems to be in excellent shape except for one thing--it makes a very noticeable creaking noise. The noise is coming from the front end and seems to only appear at very slow speeds (like in parking lots). The seller told me up front about the noise, and explained that it didn't start until he had someone "jerk" him out of a snowdrift in Colorado. He says that was about 4 years ago. He tells me he has had the front end aligned, he has had two motor mounts replaced and has had either the tie rods, or the tie rod ends (I'm not sure which) replaced, but the noise is still there. He claims mechanics can't find anything else wrong with it, and they assure him it is safe to drive.

I'm assuming my Strut Mounts (bushings) and/or Strut Bearings have gone and need to be replaced? As the creaking sound really souds like it could be the rubber bushing buckling?...
I just want to be 100% sure this is my issue before ordering the parts. Need to confirm that this noise I'm hearing is bad mounts or bushings? Or is there something else I should take a look at before ordering the parts?

I recently replaced the brakes on my '99 Passat with all new rotors and pads. I used Mintex pads in front, as recommended by Adirondack Auto Brokers, and after a couple thousand miles, they are all broken in. The car stops fine and the pedal feels good, but there is always a groaning/vibration/creaking right at the very end of the stop. Nothing unsafe or a problem, but just annoying. It is only when the car comes to a complete stop at the last 6 inches of motion. If I let the brake pedal up slowly from a stop, it will also do it. What can I do to get rid of this, or is it from the pads and I just have to live with it until they are replaced?
