Ford Excursion :: 2000 - Rear Windshield Wiper Won't Cover Completely?
Nov 16, 2014
I tried oiling the hinge and installing a new wiper but it seems like the spring isn't strong enough.

View 14 RepliesI used my rear windshield wiper for the first time today. Noticed that the back windshield wiper doesn't clean off the back window close enough to the horizontal bar going across the Prius V hatch? I have about 2-3 inches of dew remaining above the back hatch bar, which 'happens' to be the exact height of my eyes (I'm 6').
View 18 RepliesI'm working on a 2003 that the front wiper and sprayer quit working on. The rear wiper and sprayer still work fine. We replaced the multifunction switch and no change. I would like to test the motor before we keep throwing parts at it.
View 5 RepliesThe clips on the cover broke so I bought a new one. Since they redesigned the 04 base, I have to remove the base. I remove the nut on the outside and the 3 on the on the inside after removing the cover. However I can't figure out how to pull the wiper off and replace the base. There is something holding it together. There is a pin that is connected to the inside that has a round hole but it is not a torx, allen, or any type of other tool I tried.
View 5 RepliesMy car was at the shop today for tinting and clear bra installation. On my way home, however, the rear wiper randomly turned itself on while I was on the highway. No matter what I did (flipping the REAR switch from OFF to INT, to ON, and back to OFF again), it still kept wiping, wiping, and wiping some more.
I'm taking this car into the service dept tomorrow morning so hopefully they can figure out what the issue is. I had a hard time talking due to a majorly sore throat.. but here's a vid I took when I got home:
I may need to replace the rear wiper and could not figure out how to access it because in the OFF position it is hidden by the top spoiler.
Short of turning off the engine when the wiper is in the down position, how it supposed to be accesse?
Weird issue on my MK4 GTI. So it started out just as the rear windshield sprayer would work intermittently. Then the same happened to the front one. Then sometimes the rear windshield wiper would just come on by itself when hitting bumps on the highway. Now sometimes the front windshield wipers won't work, the rear doesn't work at all, and neither sprayers work.
So, where's best to start? I figured maybe the toggle switch is worn out. I haven't looked to see how hard it is to get out/test. I assume there's some linkage or wires I can get to once I remove the trim under the steering wheel to do a simple continuity test and see if the switch is working. Or would relays cause this? I wouldn't think that many relays could fail this quickly while running at normal voltages...
I'm guessing that the washer nozzles on the rear wiper arm froze solid. When the washer was turned on the pressure build up made a hose fitting pop off. What I heard, then saw, was blue washer fluid pouring onto the cargo area rug.
I removed the ~3' plastic trim under the lift gate and the rearmost dome light. You can see the cutout over my pinky & ring fingers. I also removed the r/s trim panel, but think I could have left it in place.
Plugged it back together with some zip ties to strengthen all of the connections. So far, all good
I'm having some sort of electrical malfunction on the back of my Mk4 Gti. The right rear tail light, license plate light and back windshield wiper doesn't work. I replaced the bulbs several times and they keep blowing.
View 2 RepliesI need to pull my front overhead console to make some changes, gonna try to mount my sirius cradle up there to get it out of the way. Can't figure out how it is fastened up there. Also, I need to pull the cover off the rear seat DVD player as I want to solder in some RCA's onto the aux in. Can't figure this one out either, and I'm afraid to break the cover.
View 4 RepliesI have no windshield wipers. Since i bought the truck ive fixed other issues but cannot figure out the issue with the wipers. Tested for power not sure if it's accurate but seems like there is power to the harness to the motor but not 100% positive.... Can it be the switch? Blinkers and rest on same switch still work but no ww. I also dont hear clicking from a solenoid like ive read on some research.. Fuses are all good pulled everyone out since they arent labeled with numbers next to them...im at such a stand still and cant drive the truck was screwed the other day when we got sun showers for nor reason and i was on a major highway.
View 6 RepliesI have a 1988 Ranger with the 2.9. 2wd, xlt. It seems that my wipers have no power. I put a test light in the fuse panel where the 6A cb is and no light. To verify I wasn't doing something wrong, I put it in the dome light and tester came on. I tried with the wiper switch on interval, low & hi. I can't seem to find where the power comes from to follow back from the fuse panel. The washer fluid doesn't work either. No clicking from relays or anything.
View 2 RepliesI have a 1999 f250 super duty and an old problem has reoccurred , I start the truck and as I put on the windscreen wipers the truck cuts out?
View 6 RepliesWindshield wipers not quiet? This morning mine sounded like they were hitting the rubber windshield gasket above the windshield at the end of their sweep. I wanted to stop and get out and watch then it quit raining. I looked at the windshield gasket just now in good daylight and I don't see any scratches or hickeys anywhere....

View 2 Replies6.7L ... Just traded in my F250 on a 2011 F350 Lariat. Love it. Period. Except that my windshield wiper sprayers will not work. I don't hear anything when I hit the button. No click or motor running. I can't figure out what fuse it is because I don't have an owners manual.
View 14 RepliesI had the windshield wiper control replaced on my 91 F150 today and found out that the genius who did the repair (and, I might add, broke the wiper control in the first place) forgot to reconnect the dash lights. This was this particular garage's last chance. Everything else works -- idiot lights, hi-beam indicator, running lights, taillamps, hi-beams -- everything BUT the dash lights, so I know it's not the fuse.
View 4 RepliesLooking for an electrical schematic and or wiring diagram of the windshield wiper circuit for a 06' Super Duty?
View 5 RepliesOn my 02 f350 xlt my turn signals work but not my wiper speed switch, when i put the small fuze in, the wiper go full speed and wont stop unless i pull the fuze out... What could be wrong?
View 3 RepliesI finally had enough of the annoying squeak-squeak-squeak of my wiper blades every time I used them. Time for a fix!
First, I narrowed down the problem by making sure it was not the rubber wiper blade rubbing against the windshield. You can rule this out by simply lifting the wiper arms up to the locked position and turning them on. If they still squeak it’s not the rubber rubbing against the glass.
By carefully listening I narrowed down the squeak to be coming from under the large black plastic cover on the passenger side wiper. From what I have read other Gen II Prius owners have had this same problem. I discovered that you CANNOT remove that cover without removing the wiper arm assembly. But it’s not too hard.
2015 F250 and I'd like to have the wipers stop a little higher on the windshield causing the ice build up. Previous trucks I could pop the wipers off and rotate them and put back on. These are keyed so I can't. Any trick?
