I am in need of a wiring diagram for a 00 ex with factory auto dimming rear view mirror. It only has 3 wires and I think I have them figured out but would like to make sure before making a pigtail to install a mirror I have that has 6 wires.

View 9 RepliesI've recently noticed that my v's auto dimming rear view mirror has stopped working, or at least appears that way. I'm not sure if it's because of the tint because I have used my iPhones led to testing it by shining the light from inside of the vehicle but it still fails to dim.

View 4 Replies2013 F350 Lariat with the factory OEM rear view camera. I am replacing the tailgate with a 5th wheel tailgate for a few months and would like to still retain the convince of a rear view camera.
I have obtained a Ford camera harness to use as a jumper for a non OEM camera which comes with the standard basic RCA wiring which I plan to mount to the bottom of the 5th wheel tailgate.
My hope is to wire the camera direct to the Ford wire harness which is a 6 wire pigtail. Which wires on the camera mate to which wire on the trucks wire harness.
Looking for a link to the fuel pump wiring for a 2000 V10 Ex? I'm trying to pinpoint my no start issue and want to make sure I don't miss anything. I think it goes from 20 amp fuse under hood to inertia switch to relay under hood to pump? 20 amp fuse has power but at the inertia switch I have no voltage, just approx 35 ohms resistance to ground on both outside wires. Does the inertia switch close a ground or should it have voltage?
View 10 RepliesNeed a wiring diagram that will show me how the rear window defroster circuit works in my Excursion. I have the EATC, which may or may not be related... not sure. So the diagram would probably need top be from 2002-2005. Obviously I ask because mine is not working (and neither are the mirror heaters since they are activated by the same switch - I think???). I've checked fuses to no avail...
Mine has never worked since I got this Excursion put together last year. I have read some previous threads that mention two different rear hatch glass defroster grids, one being a higher output grid (and different resistance?) than the other. Is there a chance my system is looking for the higher ohm grid, but my window grid is the lower ohm unit and therefore not activating the timer? I only ask this because my electrical system is M/Y 2002, but my back hatch is from a 2000 M/Y.
Also, I get no indicator light when the switch is depressed. I have tried 3 different switches just because I had extras... no luck.
A week or so ago there was a topic about the rear view mirror dimming. I replied that mine worked on the inside but not the outside mirrors. I just re-read two or three different brochures and found that the outside mirrors do just about everything except dim! Go figure.
View 1 RepliesI am curious if it is possible to make a stand alone controller for the electric shift transfer case in a 2000 F-350?
The reason I ask is, this is swapped into a 4x4 conversion in a van and I would like the transfer case to work like the factory, but I don't want to swap over the whole GEM module. I have the high to low and low to high shift relays and wiring, the selector switch from the dash.
I know that powering up the relays will shift the transfer case, but the GEM module tells when the relays need to shut off, and that is where I am not sure what to do. I am assuming that the other plug on the shift motor (6 pin plug) is the sensor that tells the GEM module where the shift is at.
What needs to be done (with a bank of relays).....
I'm working on a truck for a friend's mother and all of the tests that I've done point to the fuel pump. However, to make sure the pump is getting voltage past the large connector block under the cab, I would like to do a pin-out test before I pull the tank (or the bed). The pump will not run/prime in KOEO test, the relay is good, as are all of the fuses and the inertia switch.
Looking for a wiring diagram handy for this purpose? I've look all over this forum and searched quite extensively and I haven't found one for this year. Since it isn't my truck, I don't feel like purchasing a manual. I'm working on a 2003 3.0 2WD Auto.
If a wiring diagram isn't available, what colors are the wires going to the fuel pump? That way I can at least test the ground and the positive.
under the self-dimming rearview mirror, actually two of them. I searched 'red light' and came up with a 2001 post and nobody knew what it was either, an ambient light like the state patrol uses one guy summized!!!
What gives here. I've never noticed it at night, only today in broad daylight!
I removed the rear radio controller from the back of the console and installed a power inverter in its place. It fit great and everything went smoothly. I should have known it was too easy... I now have no sound coming out of the rear speakers. I assume there is a way to jump the wires to allow the speakers to work, but I'd need a wiring diagram. Right now I have the controller hooked up and buried in the console, which I guess is fine. It's just annoying.

I am needing to add a relay, however, i need to strap the coil of it with a diode to protect the frigging cluster (the new dodges aren't very mod friendly!). My question is, should I add a second diode before the relay to protect the cluster against back emf, or will the one strapped across the relay coil be enough?
Since I am sure you're curious now, the cargo light (light that lights up the bed) gets its power from the gauge cluster of all places. I need to add a relay to the cargo light circuit to drive some other lights, and I am worried the back emf from the relay coil will fry the cluster circuitry.

Ive got a 2004 excursion Eddie bauer and I've got the non-towing paddle mirrors with power adjustment, heated, and turn signals. I want to put the 2008 style towing mirrors on that have power adjustment, heated, turn signals, and have the marker lights but not power fold or power telescope.
How I can wire these new mirrors to my factory wires? I understand that the marker light may have to be separately wired in, but all of the other functions I want to wire in to my existing wires.
Currently I have a license plate camera wired always on connected to a 7inch lilliput monitor infront of my center console on that hump in the floor. The monitor is connected to a 12v plug on the dash. In this configuration, I have to reach down and turn the monitor on whenever I want to reverse and im hoping I can make it turn on whenever I go into reverse. Right now, if I turn it on then turn the truck off, the monitor stays on with a bright blue no signal screen which forces me to turn the monitor on, then off, every time I reverse if I want to use it.
Any way to make the monitor turn on/off when I put my Ex in reverse?

View 6 RepliesMy park lamp circuit is dead. I have tested with a multi-meter and there IS power at the fuse. However, no power at the plug. I have pulled the bumper and found the plug for both the rear taillights (the park lamp circuit WORKS in the taillights) and the trailer wires. Confirmed it is dead there as well.
Both bundles go into the frame rail at the fuel tank, but I not sure which is which where it comes out at the firewall. A web search did not reveal a diagram and the Ford repair CD I have does not list Excursion diagrams.
