Ford - Escape :: 2010 - Location Of Fan Speed Resistor?
Jun 26, 2012
2010 Ford Escape Fan Speed Resistor Location? I've seen videos for 2001-2004 and 2008. They do not apply to 2010. The resistor board location has moved since 2008.
It used to be just inboard of the cabin fan motor. They were so close that If you wanted to pull the motor, you needed to unplug the wire harness from the resistor board as well as the motor.
Where is the cabin fan resistor card located for the '10 Escape, pray tell?

I have google it looked all over was told it was under the hood next to the fan even shown a photo when I went under the hood right were the resistor was in the photo there was a long black box about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. looked nothing like the photo.
So I went back on line and read that its above the passengers feet you take a few screws off after you take the glove box off and it should be there. Well after taking 8 screws off I find nothing but a coil behind there. Nothing that looked like a resistor.

I'm looking for information and possible photo location for the blower motor resistor. My truck has climate control. I've looked under the dash on the passenger side and behind the glove box door and I've been unable to spot the location. Do I have to remove the plastic panel behind the glove box?

My blower works half of the time...from what I have researched it is more than likely the resistor. The thing is I can't find it..all the videos and pictures looks like they are the **** control control. Where this is located for the dual climate control?

My Caravan heater fan runs only on high speed. Am I correct in assuming that this is caused by a burned out heater fan resistor? If I am correct, where is the heater fan resistor located? I understand the 1995 to 1997 Caravan and Voyagers are all alike. I looked behind the glove box and didn't recognize anything as being the resistor. The fan cover is there but if I took it off, I wouldn't know what the resistor looks like!.

Replacing a heater motor resistor in a 1998 Toyota Avalon and knows exactly where the thing is? All I get is the same "canned" response when searching the internet. I've got the glove box out and have dropped the heater blower itself. Funny thing is when I run my hand around in the heater housing their is no heater motor resistor located there. Is it possible the car doesn't have one? I did pick up the part from my NAPA store, and they do make one for it.

Where the blower resistor is? I ordered one with the advice of the parts department but I do not know where it is located. I'm going to check under the glove compartment because I couldn't find it in the compartment in front of the gear shift and under the radio.
Symptom on 2000 Toyota Echo: Low fan speeds do not work. Only high speed works.

I replaced the blower motor resistor on a 2010 F150 with dual climate control where the blower was stuck on high.
After replacing the resistor, now the lower speeds work fine, but when placed on high speed, the fan completely shuts down. Replace with the old resistor, and it only runs on high.
How to proceed, or what else might be the problem?

I did the resistor mod on my fans awhile ago, but just the low speed does not cool my engine sufficiently. I seem to be the only one who still has issues with the car getting hot still. The engine gets hotter and hotter the more it's driven constantly but once I slow down, the fans catch up and the engine cools down significantly. Why is my car still getting hot when constantly moving and the. Functioning fine once at lower speeds?

2002 Dodge Ram 3500 van (engine unknown, but I think it doesn't matter). Blower operate only at highest speed setting. OK, that's the classic symptom of a failed resistor. Replacements are readily available at chain parts stores.
Where is the resistor located? This video shows me for a 2002 Ram 1500 van. Will it be the same on the 3500?
I've learned here that sometimes resistor failure results from bearings going bad in the blower, causing excessive current draw. Is there a way to test that other than with an ammeter? What's the correct current?
2a. If the blower motor is going bad, is that something we'll be able to replace ourselves? (Yes, I should tell them to get a Haynes or Chilton.) I don't like the idea of taking off dashboard panels.
2b. Is there any other "prime cause" I should look for if the blower motor seems OK?
Are there any other parts (other than the switch) whose failure would also give that symptom?

Have a 2012 gas powered Escape XLT, 2.5L 4 cylinder.
I need to replace the evap purge valve. Looking at youtube videos and from other posts it seems easy to replace. My problem is where is it located on this Escape?
Is it under the hood or underneath the driver's side? This is just the valve mind you, not the canister in the back.

I have an 05 Escape XLT 4WD worth 3.0L V6. My HAYNES says the transfer case lubricant should be checked every 15k - I bought it with 75k and it has 107k now and I have never checked it. I am wondering if it is common practice to do this every 15k? The transfer case is then one next to the oil pan? The book has one photo.

Just wanted to post a recent experience I had with the catalytic converter issues Escapes seem to be prone to. A friend has a 2003 Escape 4x4 with the 3.0 V-6 and automatic transmission. It has 141,000 miles on it, she bought it with 40,000 miles on the vehicle.
Recently it developed driveability issues: No power with a whistling noise and top speed of 10 M.P.H. I researched on here and her symptoms matched threads that came up using the search function. I told her I was pretty sure the front cat was bad and had plugged the rear cat, causing the issue. She took it to a local repair shop and confirmed my diagnosis. Their estimate for repair was north of $1,500.00. My neighbor and I were sure we could repair it cheaper.
We towed it to my house and pulled the front and rear-most cats. As suspected they were both bad. The back cat on the engine looked pristine inside so we left it alone. We ordered all of our parts from rockauto. New front and rear-most cats, exhaust and intake gaskets, serpentine belt, and one O2 sensor that was damaged when the insides of the front cat let go.
Installation was straight forward with no major issues. We also changed the plugs with brand new ones she had purchased but never had installed. The vehicle now runs fantastic and she is extremely happy with it.

ok this has me stumped I get this buzzing/humming/vibration sound from what seems like around Defroster passenger side but it is not all the time only at higher speeds and it it intermittent . I have removed cabin filter and cleaned filter box and checked for a leaf or something even sealed somewhat the plastic shield that covers the cabin filter. I really don't want to rip dash apart but it is so annoying
