I have a 2011 regular cab XL, and I just installed a Kenwood DDX770 that has a backup camera connection. I am installing an aftermarket camera. I would like to use the wire from the stereo and connect it to the steering column wire for reverse, but can't seem to locate it. I read other places that it is a black wire with a pink stripe, but I can't find that color under the dash.
View 3 RepliesInstalled one of the wireless bu cams from Pep boys earlier this year. Anyhow it hooks to the bu lights and has a pwr source from the fuse box. Works ok, but every now and again it will flicker while I am driving down the road, is also slow to illuminate when reverse is engaged. What the issue may be? Its a VRBCS300W.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2016 F-350 Lariat. I want to install a second backup camera (high mount) to see my fifth wheel hitch when hooking up. It will be located either near or in the third brake light. I really do not want to add another display or change the OEM display. My question; is there any way to add a second camera input the the OEM head unit? Or can I use the A/V inputs and disable the OEM Backup Camera when I want to use the high mount.
View 2 RepliesThis will be the second time that i have had to change my antenna, the portal where the ant. goes into the back of radio rusts out so bad that i get no reception. the first go round i had to use #9 klein pliers to remove the antenna not to mention that when i cut the cable in two for easier removal ( behind the glove box), water was literally dripping from where i cut. I checked out the mounting pedestal on the top of the fender and it doesn't seem to me that it could leak but I am thinking that that has got to be where the water is getting in. The moisture was so bad that the head too was loaded with moisture, rust and corrosion inside of it.

My question is:
1) Do I (just) need the head unit, or will I need wiring harness and other accessories? (the truck has sync, had xm radio)
2) Will the steering wheel buttons still function.
3) Is there anything I should know before attempting this

I have a 2011 F150 Lariat and need some basic info with the operation of my CD player. It is a Sony 6 CD in dash player. What I need to know is how to advance a CD and move to the next CD in line to be played. i.e., if I am playing CD #3 how do I advance to CD #4 without cycling through all of the songs on CD #3.
View 7 Replies2013 F-250. Sync. No navigation. I am able to pair my Android cell phone to the truck and all works fine. Can send and receive calls using the voice commands etc. I am also able to play music from my bluetooth enabled LG V10 android cell phone. When I start the truck, it automatically detects my cell phone, connects to it and begins playing music from my cell phone through the truck stereo. And therein lies the problem.
My question is, is there a way to tell the truck to go ahead and connect to the cell phone, but don't start playing music. In other words, I don't want the truck to launch the music player on my cell phone. I always have to either turn off the player on my cell phone or give the "pause" command through bluetooth audio.
On my '06 XL F350 I want to know if and how I can hook up an auxiliary input. It has the AUX button ,but it doesn't have any aux audio port in the dash anywhere like some of the nicer F-series have. When I push the AUX button, the screen reads "NO AUX AUDIO". Is there an adapter I can buy to plug in the back so I can actually have and auxiliary input?
View 3 RepliesSo i have this whistle/wine through my system when running the Sirius thingy. It seems to correlate with rpm... Higher the rpm... higher pitched the whine/whistle...
The pitch of the whistle almost matches my turbo whistle. The Sirius is powered through the cigar lighter port. Aux audio 3.5mm cord from Sirius to the stereo head.
The display in the stereo in my crown vic died a while ago. It is the same single disc CD player used in the 99-03 superduty trucks.

my question is i have matched up all the speaker wires no problem power ground and illumination wires good.
now on my ford end of my harness i still have a pink wire a black/green wire and a red/black wire.....what are these wires for?
