View 10 RepliesOn my '06 XL F350 I want to know if and how I can hook up an auxiliary input. It has the AUX button ,but it doesn't have any aux audio port in the dash anywhere like some of the nicer F-series have. When I push the AUX button, the screen reads "NO AUX AUDIO". Is there an adapter I can buy to plug in the back so I can actually have and auxiliary input?

What I need to know is how to advance a CD and move to the next CD in line to be played. i.e., if I am playing CD #3 how do I advance to CD #4 without cycling through all of the songs on CD #3.

I need to know how to get the dash apart to get at the stereo unless there is another way of getting access to the stereo.
I have had a 2007 for less than a month (mailed first payment today) and the disc changer died. I have played many audio book CDs in it during my 3 hour daily commute but today it decided that was all it would do.
Owners Manual said to take it to my Toyota dealer for this problem. I am reading posts which say it will take 4-6 weeks for a repair. Library will be upset about disks being gone that long.
Only time I like this car is at the gas pump. Any updated information on how to fix this problem without disassembling the entire dash?

View 4 RepliesI have a 2014 F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab 8' bed XL trim package with the standard am/fm/cd without sub woofer stereo. I don't have steering wheel controls. I'm looking to install an aftermarket navigation stereo (double-din) with a backup camera. I am having a very hard time finding a wiring harness or a dash install kit. I've searched both 2013 and 2014 but haven't found anything.
In addition, the guy at my local car toys told me that the accessory power in the wiring harness is only 5v for the stereo, and that because of that they have to splice into my wires to get a true 12v accessory power for my stereo to power on. I'm not a big fan of splicing into factory wiring harness to install an aftermarket stereo on a truck that has barely 1000 miles on it.
Installing a LCD DVD on a '06 F250 w/ sunroof? I have a F250 on order and frankly it frustrates me that I couldn't order a factory dvd player from Ford. I am hesitant to take this in and get done at an aftermarket shop since the sunroof potentially adds some complication to the install.
BTW, one of the conditions my kids (8 and 10 yr old) gave me for getting rid of my Expedition was getting the new truck with DVD.

I didn't know the size of the front door speakers. I have an Alpine CDM-9803 HU and some subs for the low end.

View 1 RepliesI just bought a new JCV radio and i want to replace it with the oem radio in my truck. My truck is a 1996 Ford F250 XLT. I bought the wire harness and one connects to my radio and the other connect to the grey and red wire coming out of my dash, now there is another connector coming out of the dash that is black and i believe it is for the speaker but, i can't find an adapter to fit it . Is there a male or female adapter that i can plug it to it and the splice the other end to the harness that i bought?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2011 F-250 Xlt that came with the standard radio/CD player and I wanted to replace it with a OEM Navigation Unit. I was going to have FORD install it once I can get my hands on one.
My question is:
1) Do I (just) need the head unit, or will I need wiring harness and other accessories? (the truck has sync, had xm radio)
2) Will the steering wheel buttons still function.
3) Is there anything I should know before attempting this
4) Will there be any repercussions.
I bought my truck as a 2012 base XLT model, with no Sync and no audio control buttons on the right-hand side of the steering wheel. Since then, I have retrofitted in the stock navigation / audio system, added the Sync module, and installed a new steering wheel which came with the proper audio / sync controls on the right-hand side.
After installing the steering wheel, all of the buttons on both the left and right sides light up properly at night, and the controls on the left side for cruise and the message center still work fine. I had the dealer reprogram the SCCM to the VIN of a 2011 Lariat truck which had nav. However, they told me they could not get the wheel controls to work and ended up reprogramming the SCCM back to my VIN.
I would really like to get this to work. In consulting with the company that set me up with the navi and Sync, they said there may be some module which acts as a gateway between the SCCM and the audio system, but not really sure which module that is. Could be the BCM or the instrument cluster.
Can I or could I make an 04 Radio with a 6 disc changer work in a 1999 F150. The radio in the truck now is having some issues and I don't want to put an after market in so I am just wondering if it could work.
View 2 RepliesI recently picked up and installed an OEM head unit for my 04 F350 XL SC/SB. This truck came with a basic AM/FM head unit and 2 front door speakers. Im not looking to do anything crazy, but now that I have a better head unit than just the AM/FM one I would like to wire in 2 more speakers in the rear doors. The rear doors already have the spots to install speakers, but I am assuming I will have to run wiring to the new head unit.
Will I have to find another plug to go from the new rear speakers to the head unit or is the single plug that is now running the radio have extra spots to accept 2 more speakers? This is the stock head unit. This is the better stock head unit
I bought a new auxiliary battery online and installed it. I reset the driver's side power window. But my CD changer now beeps four times, all the lights turn green and orange, and I cannot play a CD from the changer or eject any of the discs. Both discs currently stuck in it are store bought Third Eye Blind CDs with no stickers, labels, etc.
I'm assuming that the CD player needs to be reset. Someone in another thread mentioned unplugging the battery for 20 seconds, while someone else said I need to enter a code that I can get from the dealer. I can go without the changer but the beeping is maddening.
2013 F-250. Sync. No navigation. I am able to pair my Android cell phone to the truck and all works fine. Can send and receive calls using the voice commands etc. I am also able to play music from my bluetooth enabled LG V10 android cell phone. When I start the truck, it automatically detects my cell phone, connects to it and begins playing music from my cell phone through the truck stereo. And therein lies the problem.
My question is, is there a way to tell the truck to go ahead and connect to the cell phone, but don't start playing music. In other words, I don't want the truck to launch the music player on my cell phone. I always have to either turn off the player on my cell phone or give the "pause" command through bluetooth audio.
