I have this sensor unplugged. Is there a way to defeat this sensor so I don't pull this code?

View 3 RepliesI have an emissions test coming up. I have 3 P codes that I'd like to eliminate before then. I don't want to "fix" the issues they are telling me about. Just make the codes go away. I know why they're there I just need to get rid of them.
What I have coming up is:
P0475 Exhaust Pressure Circuit Valve (result of EBPV delete)
P0541 Intake air heater A circuit low (result of aih delete)
P0640 Intake air heater control circuit (also result of aih delete)
What resistors I'll need and where to put them in?
I went and got my truck smog and it failed because of this code. I then changed the sensor cleaned out the tube and I still can't figure out how to get rid of the error code?
View 3 RepliesAs I was getting ready to leave town with the tractor loaded up, I was accelerating with the turbo spooling up when I heard a bit of a pop and lost power (engine still running and all, just very low power like you get when the turbo fails). I wasn't far from the shop so I came back and started getting a lot of white smoke out of the exhaust, it doesn't smell like diesel, probably more like oil. Definitely smoke, not coolant. I pulled it around back and shut it down to go grab AE and scan it and it shows a P0475, starting it back up has light smoke at idle and it idles fine but as soon as you give it any throttle it starts smoking pretty badly.
Researching it looks like the most likely cause for this is the EBPV itself but before tearing it down that far. This is the only code it's showing.
Truck has 272k on it, turbo was rebuilt a couple of years ago but we didn't do anything with the pedestal at that time. I guess in retrospect, I probably should have done the EBPV delete and the resistor fix then but I didn't think about it at the time.
On another note, my AE is not showing any of the system test for some reason, the drop down is blank. I have version 7.0.1, so it's an old version but I'm working on an old truck, so... What that might be? I've got the truck pulled into the shop now to let it cool down. I'll probably let it sit overnight and take the turbo and EBPV out tomorrow unless someone has a better suggestion...
I just had my turbo and the EBPV on the pedestal rebuilt. Now I need to put it back into the truck. What is the procedure, if any, to adjust the EBPV? I only use the truck to haul a 5th wheel RV and the performance chip closes the EBP valve when going down steep hills -( EXHAUST BRAKE)
View 6 RepliesAs title says, the EBP stays at 43psi key on running or not. MAP is at 13.7psi like it should be. tried a new sensor and also unplugged and no diff. Wiggled engine wiring harness and it never dropped. No tuner. Codes are P0472 and P0475. Truck runs very sluggish. 4.7v on EBP plug
View 5 RepliesI understand that exhaust runs through the EGR. what I don't know is:
Does the EGR valve control the amount of exhaust into the air intake?
If so, does only the amount of exhaust let through the valve go through the EGR?
if so, if the EGR valve is closed then no exhaust will go through the EGR?
So I have a non ebpv pedestal I was going to clean my sensor on the front because my mileage has went down a bit. My question is is this even worth doing since the valve is not there anymore I have got mixed answers trying to look it up some say it still affects the mileage some say it won't. I cleaned it once about 10 years ago. I have an AE also how do I test it and what should it read if I do need to clean it or replace it?

P0670:GPCM Glow plug control module control line failure. Open/grounded circuit, open/shorted GPCM, failed PCM
But how did you resolve problem? replaced GPCM, found open circuit, short --if so where?-- or replaced with updated harness.
(4C3Z-12B568-AA connector upgrade kit as in picture)???
Finally had a good scan done on my truck at the mechanics. The reoccurring codes were P0478 and P0470. It looks like a bad exhaust pressure control sensor. Looks like an easy fix.

View 4 RepliesI have a 2004 6.0 with 75000 miles on it. My truck is throwing a P0470 code pointing at the exhaust pressure sensor. my question is do I need this sensor or can i bypass it? When I look up the part it only shows 2005 and up.
View 6 RepliesI just did a bunch of work on my 6.0. Here's a list- head gaskets, arp studs, new heads, 2 new injectors, updated stand pipes and dummy plugs, water pump, and all new injector o-rings. After messing around with a bent pushrod, cylinder 5 code and and replacing injectors the truck runs excellent. After driving it a bit I get a code "P2290 injector control pressure too low". The truck runs great with no low power, stalls, or hard start cold or hot. I do puff black smoke but that's because of the sct tuner on performance tune.
View 8 RepliesMy 05 excursion died on me a couple weeks ago. First it threw a p2290 code for low injection control pressure. It did this a few months ago and had no problems. Cleared code and did not come back until now. So I cleared the code. Drove a few more miles and lost all boost pressure. Still fires up and runs. It does run a bit rough but only a little bit.
I replaced the oil cooler, did egr delete, and put an IPR remote oil cooler and full flow coolant filter on it few months ago. Since it died i pulled the ipr valve and it looked good. I put a new screen o-rings, and wiring pigtail on it since it was out. Put back together and still no boost. I really did not figure that would fix the boost issue but i wanted to make sure the screen was not clogged or torn.
Truck will fire up cold and warm with no problem and run. The hose from the map sensor to manifold is good and i put new clamps on it.
2005 6.0 with 95,000 miles.
ICP duty cycle = 0.29
map kpa = 102
Injection control pressure = 5.91 MPA
2004 Excursion 6.0L .... Recently after a 200 mile trip through the mountains running good, I get home and the next day it idles down the driveway at a high idle and after a few minutes seems to run better but within 5 miles the CEL comes on and throws P2287 - intermittent injection pressure control circuit. I cleared the code, ran around town again and the light came on again same code. I'm getting appropriate ICP-voltage and pressure readings. I took it home sat overnight and thought I would pull the ICP sensor.
I replaced the ICP sensor less than 6 months/5,000 miles ago. I also changed out the main engine harness at the same time. I looked at ICP sensor and it looks clean. Started the truck and tried the scientific wiggle test while running and monitoring ICP-voltage. Started at the sensor bending and wiggling back to FICM. No fluctuation in voltage. Ran the truck around town, 20 miles and no light. Yesterday we made the same 200 mile trip over the mountains, seemed to run strong. In town this morning within 5 miles the CEL is back on and the only code is P2287.
My Ford powertrain diagnostics manual doesn't have the P2287 code in it for troubleshooting. Should I go after the FICM, and how do U test that if so? I'm currently that 200 mile drive from home and don't want to damage anything more.
Engine light came on yesterday and started missing on take offs. Giving code p2285 Injector Control Pressure Sensor Circuit Low. I've done the research and understand the problem. It's the weekend and shops closed until Monday. Is it safe to drive in the mean time? Is there any risk of doing damage? What's the risk of it quitting or failing start in the short term, today?
View 2 RepliesI need the PCM pinout for a 2002 F150 4.6 For the Purge Control Valve Circuit. If possible the wire schematic would be nice also. Getting code PO443 (( hard code )) I have checked battery voltage at valve connector with key on (( 12.2 volts )) valve resistance is at be 35 ohms so I'm thinking I may have a bad wire or a bad PCM .
View 2 RepliesAfter running highway speed then stopping, the EBP valve is partially closing as you accelerate back up to speed. You can hear it in the sound of the motor, and you can see it on EGT's, which are rising quickly. This happens briefly then corrects. We unplugged the EBP sensor and the problem continued. Tube is clear.
If I monitor the EBP sensor, what values should I see if it is functioning properly?
So I just put billowed up pipes and changed the broken O ring in the turbo housing. Put everything back together and checked for a boost leak with the home made tester. Boots and everything ARE OK. I can hear air escaping from what seems to be the valve cover or intake. I realize that I am charging my crank case as well but it still concerns me that air is escaping from somewhere besides the CCV. I read the following forum and this guy had the same issue and after he found out he was charging his crank case he was no longer worried. . . . .
View 12 RepliesAfter checking my fuel bowl today for contaminants, I put the lid back on and then noticed a leak from the rear at drain valve. I know, I already ordered the orings. It was doing one drip about every three seconds with the truck running. However, I turned the yellow thing a couple times and the leak stopped. Not leaking right now. Maybe it wasn't shut from previous owner.
Second question.....After stopping leak and after routing my fuel drain hose, I decided to give it a try. No luck. Nothing out or drain. Based on my first fuel filter change, it may be clogged up. So, do I run wire from the bottom up? Or do I run wire from top (bowl) down? Just so you know, sucked the bowl dry with a vacuum device before I reinstalled the filter.
Iv heard a few things about changing the valve body. I tow a trailer so was wondering on pros and cons of changing this. And also what brands are recommended.
