Auto trans. The Overdrive light flashes on the Selector lever. Never stops.I put tape over it because it is annoying. Especially at night. It goes into overdrive no problem.
A Couple of times it did not flash and was stuck in first till I manually shifted. Then the light started flashing again and works normal. What now......RPM Sensor?

I have a 2001 3/4 pickup. Sometimes the over drive light flashes. When it flashes it shifts really hard and sometimes it won't shift into 4th until I mash the overdrive button. Sometimes the light doesn't flash at all and it doesn't have any trouble shifting at all. Is it a solenoid? Or wiring issues?

View 1 RepliesSo here's the deal: My 2000 F250 has began to have the overdrive light blink when I am traveling at low speeds <40mph and it is accompanied by strange shifting (lower gear for a longer period of time). As soon as I get up to highway speeds the blinking stops and goes back to normal operation. But as soon as I go back to low speeds it happens again. When I put the truck in to park when it has the light blinking it revs it self to about 1200rpms then goes back to normal idle. This truck has 228k miles and is on the original transmission.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2000 f250 with the 7.3 and 181,000 miles on it, recently got stuck in the snow (in 2wd because i forgot to lock the hubs) and the rear wheels did alot of spinning. Now i randomly have the OD light start to blink, sometimes its a half a blink, sometimes it'll stay on for a few seconds, itll do it randomly while crusing down the road at a constant speed, also noticed my rpms fluctuate a tad at idle.

View 3 RepliesMy F350, 7.3 L. is flashing the overdrive light. Had a pro do a scan that said no Turbine speed sensor signal.
I would like to know where the TSS is located and then see if it has corrosion other reason not to connect.
Have no OD, when you press the OD button nothing happens and then the OD light flashes until she's shut down. On start up no flashing until OD button pressed. All other gears shift lovely. Haven't checked codes yet.
View 9 RepliesTook a 2 hour trip got of the interstate came to a stop light and the OD light starting blinking cut the truck off at the light fired it back up shifted in every gear like normal drove a little ways stopped at a light and OD started blinking again cut truck off back on light. Went away shifted great threw all the gears.

View 4 RepliesI have a sensor on the top of the engine on the driver side that has oil coming out of it. I think it is called an IPC but I want to make sure before I go buy a new one. It sits right behind the power Steering pump. I am replacing the Power steering pump and hoses so I thought I would replace that as well. Also since there is oil in the connection what is the best way to clean the connection electric parts cleaner? By the way this is a 2000 7.3 4x4 ....
View 11 RepliesI have a 2000 Ford E350 Short Bus 7.3 It has abs in the rear diff. I have changed the sensor. I have connected my AE but get nothing at all from the sensor. My speedometer does work. My overdrive light flashes and the transmission does shift properly. I plan on looking for a bad ground. Can I test the wiring using a volt meter

View 14 RepliesSo I have a 2000 F-250 7.3 and my over drive won't work. I also had hard shifting from 3rd to 4th and 3 gear wouldn't try to shift until about 2500 RPMs which is high. I replaced solenoid pack and no change. I have rebuilt the tranny and found that OD snap ring had came off I put upgraded spiral ring on. When I went on a test drive I found out nothing had changed except shifted smoother. So I changed valve and accumulated body still no change. Truck is throwing 4 codes:
P0733 Gear 3 incorrect ratio
P0750 Shift Soleniod a fault
P0783 3-4 shift error
P0541 intake air heater a circuit low
Could it be PCM??
I have a 1999 F250 4-wheel drive with a 6-speed tranny. The tranny is several old but has only around 100k on a rebuild. Three times recently it has stuck in 6th gear (overdrive) and I had to get really rough with the stick to get to come out. Afterwards the stick felt "thick" for a while and eventually everything seems to go back to normal. Not for sure but it may have started after pulling a heavy load, around 16k, which is not unusual for the truck. Other than the times it stuck and shortly after, the tranny seems perfect.

View 14 RepliesI have an intermittent security system issue. I sometimes get a dotted line in odometer and rapidly flashing theft light.
Crank no start. After a time, the theft light flashes a code of 1 then 4. Research gives me the result that PCM did not power up.
Have pulled gauges. Fixed known cold solder joint issue. Checked all connectors and reinstalled. Truck starts fine about 7/10 tries.
I have replaced battery terminals. Removed cleaned and replaced all firewall grounds. Checked harness connection blocks and PCM connector. Made sure all under hood fuses and relays working.
Currently sitting in a parking lot waiting for it to decide to start again. Only one chipped key. Where to look next? 1999 F150 xlt 6 cylinder.
I have a 4r100 on in a 99 7.3 4x4. The shifting problem I have appears to be intermittant. it seems loose after warm up especially at the 4th shift overdrive and passing gear. possibly due to low presures ? sometimes (lately more often than not) hunts back and forth between 4th and o.d when passing or hill climbing. Under normal driving it shifts somewhat firm with 4th being an exeption.I have changed my crank position sensor filters and fluids which had turned dark and improved slightly. When I pulled the pan and replaced the filter the pan was spotless. No residue or signs of plates or debris. There is about 100,000 miles on the tranny and 350,000 on the truck. Questions: Is there a tcm for this transmission and if so could it cause these problems? I'm considering a purchase of an unlocked 1705 superchip to change the shifting but unsure if this will work for my issues...
