Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: No Buzz When Ignition Is On / No Crank And No OBD

2003 6.0 auto KR. Ign turns on, dash comes on like normal, windows & lights all work, vacumm pump works.. Thats it. Starter turns well if I hotwire it. Other then that she's dead. No buzz on inj when ign is on. OBD port has the power on blue/white wire but rest have none. Scanner says can't connect. Fuel pump doesn't run. Starter doesn't crank. All fuses have been checked.

Checked with test light on all the engine related fuses and they all light up. Relays have all been switched around. Tried another used PCM to test. Unplugged fan, ebp, map, maf. My brain is going on overload trying to get all these electrical issues fixed. I much prefer a HPO leak or inj going bad, that I know how to tackle. I hate electrical.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Dies As If Ignition Turned Off Then Starts Right Back Up

Got a late 2004 6.0 that runs excellent. When it is cold (as in not running for half a day, not ambient temp) it dies as if the ignition gets turned off. You can start it right back up no problem. It has been slowly getting worse. You maybe have to start it back up 5-10 times before you can get going in the morning. Also you can hear a random click with ignition just in on position as if there is a connection issue in the dash and cuts ign in and out that I think may be the problem.

I swapped all the relays to different spots to try them. I don't think it's wiring because it does it when cold then works when warm. Guy thinks plugging truck block heater so maybe it work better somewhat. New CMP, CKP, FICM, and it doesn't make a diff. So it's baffling to me. It's obviously electrical and works better when truck is warmed.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Injector Prime On Startup When The Ignition Key Is Switched On

I'm rocking a 2005 Ford Excursion with the 6.0L PSD. When the Ignition key is switched ON prior to starting, the injectors cycle in a priming sequence.

What I need to know from owners here, is how does that sequence sound to you? Does it start slow and then increase in speed until it's complete, sounding like a rise in pitch? Or does it just make the same sound the whole way through?

Trying to debug a random no-start and I'm trying different theories. Current suspect is the FICM, despite the OBDII always reporting 47V - 48V. For me, the priming sequence starts slow and then runs faster until it's complete. Trying to figure out if it should sound the same the whole way through.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Stall Quickly Just Like Ignition Turned Off / No Rumbling Or Smoke

Truck ran good, but for the past month every once in awhile it would just stall quick, no rumbling, no smoke, like someone just turned off the ignition, if you turn the key it would immediately fire right back up. Well today it would not start back up. Pulled the IPR plug, no good. FICM replaced abt. a month ago. Checked with Scan Gauge, oil pressure abt. 925 while cranking dropped to abt. 780 after extended crank. And no codes. I do notice when turning key on I hear less clicking/noises going on. All dash lights come on and turn off as usual. Tach doesn't move.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2006 F250 - Horn To Blow Steady Only When The Ignition Is On?

My 06 F250 horn would not stop blowing after I beeped to pass a guy. Since I have a toggle switch for my factory/air horn, I flipped the switch to center to cut the horn off. While the truck is running if I engage either horn system it blows. But with the truck off and key out, I can engage either system and it works normally, the horn only blows if you depress the wheel pad. I can hear the relay working correctly, clicking and the horn blowing, but only with the ignition off.

What can cause the horn to blow steady only when the ignition is on? It seems to me the air bag switch is working if it activates correctly when ignition off? I've searched until I am blue, but don't find anything positive and I don't want to throw an airbag at it to find out 800 later the horn still blows. Also, is there a replaceable relay for the horn?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2016 F550 - Ignition Wiring Harness Diagram?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2012 F250 Diesel - Transmission Noise When Shifts Into 5th Gear?

When the truck shifts into 5th gear i instantly feel a constant vibration and noise until it shifts to 6th gear. This happens nearly every time while driving at 40mph. Rpm range 1200 - 2000. I bought the truck new on June 30th and noticed the problem on my way to work on Monday July 2nd. Took it to the dealer on July 5th and the tech said it was the torque converter slipping. I drove it home because they didn't have time to work on it. Took it back on July 12th and the dealer has had it since (currently 30 days) They originally told me it was not the engine or transmission and it was an exhaust problem. Last week they said it was the motor mounts and said they would be done.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2011 F350 - Losing Power - Rough Noise - Vibrating?

2011 F350 diesel with 10,000 miles. I have been experiencing problems with the truck loosing power, making rough running noise (pinging like an older diesel), and vibrating. As though the motor is bogging down. It usually occurs on small inclines or hills with the truck in higher gears and low rpms. It will also occur running on flat ground 65-70 mph. Had it occur once while turning the truck around in 1st gear and low rpms. Depressing the accelerator will bring the truck out of it.

This problem occurs randomly sometimes a couple of times a week to not at all. Took to dealer and they found no codes and of couse it didn't do it on the hour long test drive I took the mechanic on. However they did say they had two other owners come in with the same complaints, but could not get trucks to repeat the issue. Problem usually occurs in the hotter part of the day, maybe just coincidence. I had seen similar posts with this problem but no conclusions.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Squealing Noise Before Start Up

Just noticed a loud squealing sound coming from the engine area before I start the truck, but with the key in the on position. I'll try to get a video the next time it happens. I assume it's something starting/warming up, but it's louder than anything I've ever noticed. It lasts probably 20 seconds.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Wind Noise At Window

What is going on. You can hear the seal in the background making racket. I just got it back from my dealer saying they fixed it and its not fixed. Why that window seal would make all that noise. Its coming from that upper corner.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2011 - Hum Noise After Shut Down

My 2011 6.7 just started making a hum noise after shutdown. I've read that it might be the wastegate solenoid. Is there a TSB for this. My truck is tuned so hopefully my dealer will be tuner friendly.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - Noise - Fan Clutch Out?

I'm hearing a plane type sound on my 2004 f-250 6.0 and i also noticed the temp gauge needle went up but still in normal range and then went back to the middle range when slowing down or parked. I had a combustion test done and a leak test was done and all passed. The reservoir tank had a leak and changed that before all the test were done. The mechanic did various run test and it didn't over heat but it did when i got it back. My guess is that the fan clutch is out but not sure. An AutoZone guy came out and looked at the fan clutch and asked me to turn it on and hit the gas and then shut it off. He noticed that the fan clutch kept turning fast and he said it's not supposed to do that.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2011 - Clunking Noise While In 4x4

My 2011 SD started clunking while in 4x4 this weekend. I was on an icy road for about 120 km driving about 60-80 kph and once or twice noticed a random clunk. Didn't think much of it.

Fast forward to following day - get truck on an icy hill where I had to make a sharp turn. Put truck in 4x4, turn off ATC by holding button 8 seconds. Only rear wheels engage. So then try 4 LO. Same thing. Straighten wheels, shift to park, engage 4x4 again and she hooks up and drives out no problem. Further down the road (still in 4x4), it fish tails slightly and then check 4x4 light comes on. In order to get 4x4 re-engaged (was spinning at a stop light on a slight incline) I had to shut truck off and restart it. Then it seemed to work normal and light went off.

Little further down the road I had to go up a steep incline and at a steady 40-50 kph I started hearing (and feeling) a noticeable clunk every few hundred feet. Seems to be coming from rear of truck but honestly cannot say for sure. Goes away when in 2wd.

I have 7000 kms left before warranty expires luckily.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Front End Noise While Turning

I have noticed my truck makes a front end noise when I make turns, like from a main road to a side street. What seems to cause it is if there is a little dip or bump during the turn. The noise it makes sounds almost like a tire rubbing a splash guard or something. It comes from the drivers side. It he truck is stock with stock tires and wheels and has 4300 mi on it. I was maybe going to take it to the dealer...

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Grinding Noise From Front End

I recently replaced the front wheel hub and upper and lower ball joints on the the driver side of my 2004 f250 CC SB 6.0 fx4. Now when I put into 4 wheel drive I get a grinding noise that sounds like a worn out break pad from that side only. It didn't do it before and it only happens in 4x4. I have replaced the wheel hubs before and it was fine. Also The needle bearing race on the axle is good.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Whistling / Whooshing Noise On WOT?

The last few weeks, I have been hearing a whistling/whooshing noise on WOT when going to pass someone.

It is coming from the right side of the engine compartment between the turbo and firewall.

At least that is where it sounds like. I have no clue how to verify that driving it. What to check?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Low Pitched Groaning Noise?

I left the truck parked from April thru September. I can't remember if it was groaning when I parked it in April.

It sounds like the power steering pump going bad on a 1980s Chevy truck. Only it doesnt get louder when I max out the steering wheel in either direction.

It is a slight hollow/nasally groan sound. Perhaps a dirty turbo? I thought the hollow sound might be an echo in the turbo.

It does not seem to effect the performance what so ever.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Engine Seems Louder / More Injector Noise

I bought my truck just after xmas with 46,000 kms on it. Quite new. AS I've put on almost 18,000 kms on since I bought it I recently noticed my motor is quite a bit loader than it used to be. There is more of a diesel sound to it. More injector noise one would think. Its one of the things that I've always like about the 6.7's. they are super quiet. What would cause my engine to get louder ??????

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Noise Behind Firewall Occurs Every 20 - 40 Seconds

just got a new to me 05 f250 with the 6.0. Truck has 152k its super clean. I think there is an odd noise. That occurs every 20-40 seconds. This is my first diesel. There is no check engine light. No loss of power. No stutter.

But, there is a bump sound behind the firewall on the drivers side. And a felt bump on the throttle pedal. At first I thought it was a sub woofer behind the firewall, not really, just the feeling of the sound and vibration. Since there is no check light on I'm concerned as to what this could be if it's not a normal diesel sound/vibration.

There is no correlation with throttle position(occurs at idle and pedal depressed) RPM (I feathered the throttle attempting to elicit the sound no result). bumps in the road (bump stop, steering nothing wrong there). Does seem in the afternoon it's more prevalent. I drive about 20mi to work and around 5mi through out the day. The sound occurs approximately every 20-40 seconds.
