Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Won't Start After IPR Installation?

So I installed a new IPR valve. Now it cranks but wont turn over. I read something about how the IPR valve has to be 'clocked" in the same exact position it was in when I took it out? Would this cause my truck not to turn over? Truck has never not started before.

When I tightened it down, it was not in exact position as the old one. If I wanted it in exact position as old one, it would have not been tightened correctly. I couldn't make one more full turn around. what do u think???

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Heater Hose Installation?

Had a large puddle of coolant under my '05 X this afternoon after work. Seems it's leaking from the Y connection coming off the heater water control valve. See first pic.

I think it's part number 18472 (labeled with the circled 1) on left side in pic #2. Need to confirm this is the right part and the full part number?

Lastly, how the heck do you change this hose? It's tucked up under the cowl and looks like difficult.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Head Stud Installation?

I Have two questions on installing studs. Does the 6 oclock dowel position really matter? To me it doesnt make much sense because the timing isnt changed with just studs so there should be no issue with valve clearance and such. Unless something isnt installed correctly.

Also what is the best way to clean the block? I thought Senior Master Tech on youtube had an interesting way with a piece of angle iron.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Remote Mounted Oil Cooler Installation?

I am sure some of use around the forums have seen some of Diesel Tech Ron's videos, well in this video he is installing one of Bulletproof Diesel's remote Oil Coolers on a 6.0

Bulletproof Diesel's remote mounted oil cooler install on a 6.0 Powerstroke - YouTube

I like the idea of these if you ever have to do any work on the Oil cooler or replace it it would make it pretty quick and you don't have top spend a day tearing the engine apart

I haven't hear of too many people having issues with remote coolers set up's like this. Maybe there are some remote oil coloer owners that have em that can shed some light on how they have worked so far on their 6.0's ...

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Drain Coolant And Oil Before BPD Oil Cooler Installation?

I'm getting pretty comfortable with these forums now. Not sure if this is in the right section, but even if it was, I'm not sure how to find the right one. I recently purchased Bullet Proof Diesel's Air-to-Oil oil cooler along with the BPD oil filtration. I've already drained the oil, but do I need to drain the coolant as well? I have read of people doing a complete flush before even installing a new oil cooler (OEM oil cooler). That way once it is installed, it doesn't have all the grit and sand pumping through it right off the bat. But does it matter with BPD's system? Should I go ahead and drain the coolant completely before beginning this job?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2012 - Installation Of F550 Coil Springs?

I have a 2012 F350 CCLB with camper package (front coil springs @ 6,000 lbs). I was thinking of installing F550 coils springs, which are rated at 7,000 lbs, to provide greater lift up front.

Before performing this modification, what lift was achieved up front?

My endeavor is not to achieve level, per se, but rather allow for increased tire size, such as 35's and ground clearance.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Clearing Codes After Installation Of Fresh Sensor?

Anyways, so if replace an egt sensor how soon do I have to clear the code after install of a fresh sensor? Could I replace it in my garage and then head to autozone and borrow their scanner or do I need to do the replacement in their parking lot and do it right after the installation? It's my old mans truck and he doesn't have a scanner for his rig.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2003 - Coolant Pouring Out The Tail Pipe After BPD Oil Cooler Installation?

My buddy install a BPD air/oil oil cooler in his 2003 F250 last week and now there is coolant pouring out the tail pipe. I haven't seen it but he tells me there is quite a bit coming out. It wasn't doing this before we installed the BPD oil cooler. Normally I would say bad EGR cooler but his EGR is deleted. This is the 3rd BPD cooler I've put in and this is the first time I've had any issues after the install. The install went smooth other than we broke the radiator and had to install a new one. I feel bad cause I'm hoping it wasn't something I caused but I just can't think of anything I did during this install that would cause coolant to be getting into the exhaust. He just had it towed to the local Ford dealership.

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Engine Won't Working After Re Installation?

So I posted a while back about fixing all the leaks I had and what I was going to do. I finally completed all the repairs and reinstalled the engine and it won't start. Cranked a bunch and checked oil level in hpop its good so I pulled plugs in oil rails there is oil present there, cracked the yellow valve on fuel bowel there is fuel there. unplugged the icp sensor and cranked more still no indication of wanting to start.

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Installation Of Fuel Pressure Gauge?

I bought an Autometer 4763 gauge that didn't come with the correct fittings to plumb the sender into one of the extra ports on the back of the bowl. I went to the Ace hardware store right across the street and they didn't have anything (not surprised) and then Napa. They couldn't find a fitting to match either. He found that the plug threads are 7/16 20 tpi and the sender is 1/8" NPT. He suggested getting a 7/16 20tpi bolt, drilling it rifle-style, and then tapping it for a 1/8" NPT. The alternative, and what I ended up doing, was to use brass fittings to tee it off one of the supply lines to the heads. I ended up going that route but wanted to know if I should have looked harder for the right fitting.

Here's a pic of what I have now. I've test fit it, and it seems to work although I will need to insulate the hard lines because they rub due to the offset.

Code is for icp fault or uncontrollable. Also happens on cruise but more often on the foot. Have to reset to get check engine light off. Light stays off til I go to pull a hill again. Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Injector Installation - Torque Hold Down Bolts

I have been reading here about alternate methods to torquing the hold down bolts for the injectors. This winter I replaced my old stock split shots with new alliant single shots. I installed the injectors into a cold engine and torqued the hold down bolts to 10 ft lbs. I did not ever go back and re-tighten.

Is it suggested to go in and re-tighten the injector hold down bolts to 10 ft-lbs after the engine has been heated up and cooled down? What are some symptoms of a loose injector? I am imagining premature wear on the injector cups, low compression and maybe some mixing of oil into the combustion chamber.

Did just throw the injectors in and go back later to retorque only to find they were all fine or were some loose?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Blue Smoke When Warm / Smells Like Oil Not Diesel

Started today. 2004 with 235k miles. Owned for last 10k miles. Engine was recently studded, has egr delete and ccv bypass. Runs and starts fine. New Ford oil cooler too. Checked for codes. None for misfires, perdel are reading 0.

If it sits, on start up clear exhaust, as it warms, more blue smoke. Smells like oil not diesel.

Researched before asking and found leaking turbo seals can cause this. So we pulled the intercooler tube in front of the engine going to the intake expecting to find oil residue. Nice and dry. Was this the correct one to look at?

When we got the truck we had the dealer do a relative compression test and was within limits, it did need 1 injector that we replaced. What would be the next logical place to look?

Couple more points:

- Just changed oil last week, checked today, it was slightly over full.
- Coolant is fresh and has not changed level since we got it.
- Pulled fuel filter to see if any oil, but it was nice and clean.
