How do I change the Oil Life display to show a percentage? The owner's manual isn't very clear on this. Presently it shows "OK" until it wants an oil change. The bride's '13 Explorer shows the Oil Life as a %.

Due to the timing of the regens and where I was, the last two regens have started just before I got to my destination and had to shut the truck off. First time it just got down to 90% when I shut it off, this time it hadn't even got down to 95% yet, but I heard the popping from the exhaust after I shut it off and got out. The first time, the dash said 70% when I started it back up. This time it baked it's way down to 75% after the shut off, but it did climb back to 80% rather quickly.
Anyway, this got me thinking about how accurate this meter really is. I thought after decades of the whole gas gauge thing the DEF level would be rather simple, but we all know how less than accurate the DEF level seems to be.
Does the PCM use a similar faulty countdown when figuring who full the DPF is, or is there some actual meter that is closer to accurate?
I can't imagine my truck is smart enough to correctly figure out how plugged the DPF is, yet it's too stupid to properly gauge weather I have more or less than half a tank of DEF.

What is the percentage of a mark-up there is on 2011 6.7's between invoice and MSRP. Does it depend on how the truck is equipped? Any guess as to a range?

I had my oil changed at 40,000. I am at 42,500 right now . My " change oil soon light " . Seem like a little soon ! Plus I am 5 hours from home on a ski trip. I have checked oil level it fine. Will I be fine to drive it home 5 hours back to my local dealership for oil change? Or should I find a place up here? What would cause the light to come on so soon ? I am new to this truck . My old 7.3 did not have all the BS that this truck has .

I'm trying to chase down a couple of issues and I need to be able to monitor the coolant (and oil) temps. I've downloaded the manual and the specific 6.0 X Gauge commands but don't see the coolant temps listed.

Had these 2 warning lights show up this morning for no reason. What does it mean? Truck drove fine to work. Guess a trip to the service dept is in the future.

2005 6.0L F250 Lariat. I picked up a couple weeks ago. The message center in the gauge cluster will only show my mileage (kilometres) and engine hours but nothing else.
Also the three buttons/controls to the right of the steering column don't do anything. I checked the wiring behind the dash and it's all plugged in... The other problem is the SRS light will flash on and off while driving.

On my monitor, when I really get on it, I see the boost come up nicely and then when it gets to about 22 -23 lbs, it drops to zero on my monitor display, but the engine does not seem to falter in anyway. Why or what I might do about it?
I find it very annoying and do not believe it should be doing so, thus figure it might be causing some other problems or so. ..? I hear others talking about seeing 24 and up boost being displayed... why not me?

I know that when you are in the manual mode you can see which gear you are in on the right hand side of the small display between the speedo and tach (forget what that display is called). Is there a way to configure that screen so you can see which gear you are in while in "Drive"? With six gears to go through and these things shifting so smooth, I just think it would be nice to be able to tell what gear you are in at any particular time (especially when towing). -Glenn

I have my check coolant message on my display again... I need to get the fuel filters changed so I'm thinking of having the coolant flushed too. 45,500 or there abouts on the ODO.

Own a 2011 6.7 diesel, 59K mileage, short bed 4 WD. Was driving at 70 mph and noticed my instant mileage display read 0. Usually I see a instant mileage reading of at least 16. No regen was in progress. Steady gas throttle. Display could be changed to other screens. After a few minutes it came back. But it jumped to 16 and did not ramp up.

I just had the Local Ford dealer perform an oil change. I noticed the motor running a tad different almost right away but put it off thinking it was something else going on. well i get several miles down the road and anytime i accelerate there is a noticeable vibration and little power. I also noticed that both my water temp and EOT were above 200*. I called the dealer and of course the service department had gone home for the day. I will be calling first thing tomorrow morning.
My drive from work to the dealer is well over 20 miles and at 60-65 my water never got above 189 and the EOT never got above 195. so after oil change water temp got to 205 and EOT was at 215 at the max. This is with no load going 55 mph on the hwy. I have a Ford Premium warranty on the truck as well and this is why I decided to have them do the oil change. they have done the previous oil change as well with no issues.

Ok so the speakership wants 200 bucks to replace and the filter alone is 100 bucks. Found some at auto zone for 65 and 85 or so. How often do you change your filter and where do you buy them?

I'm assuming an annual oil change would be wise.
Its been about 2 weeks short of a year since I bought the truck, used. Dealer changed oil before I bought it. I've put about 5k miles on it.
The computer still says oil life ok but I'm guessing it has no way to keep track of time.

My truck started to display exhaust filter clogged and cleaning exhaust filter multiple times today. The cleaning exhaust message stayed on until I hot OK and then it comes back later. Not sure what this means?

So for 4500 miles since new my truck has been displaying, on the right side of the instrument display in the center dash, the actual gear the truck is in. I would shift from park to drive and move out and the truck would display what gear it was in by placing a lighted box around the gear number as it shifted 1-6. Now that display is gone. It's not anywhere. If I go to the manual mode it will display that, but the normal numbers from 1-6 , bottom to top , are gone.

Well, at a little over 10k I have my first issue. My monitor displayed a Tire Pressure Monitor Fault. All tires are OK. Light won't go out. Guess it just earned a trip to the dealer.

Was driving the last week and happened to look down and notice the display for my climate controls was completely black. They were still running at whatever I had them last set at but couldn't change anything or turn the system off. Pulled into a parking lot, turned the truck off then started it again and everything was working fine.
Couple days later, was driving down the road again, glanced down and now my climate display, stereo display and odometer display were all black but once again everything was still functioning, just couldn't change anything. Turned my wipers on to check those, heard a little click, and all the displays popped back on like normal???? Wipers worked just fine too.
I'm assuming a short somewhere but wouldn't even know where to start to look or if it's even within my limited skill set to try and track down.
