2013 f250 6.7 yesterday during drive through heavy rain fall noticed some clean water draining on my bare feet on passenger side of the truck right below glove compartment.
View 6 RepliesI have 2006 ford f250 6.0 diesel. I was changing the fuel filter on the frame rail and noticed a lot of dirt in the housing . I tried to remove the plug to drain water to see if i could get out some of the dirt. But the bolt just turned and wouldn't come out. It wouldn't tighten either. I went ahead and cleaned as much dirt as i could and changed the filter. How to get the bolt out....... I just bought the truck so i don't have any prior maintenance history...

I know we have crappy radiators. that's why I bought the premiumcare plan. had that replaced at 45k..200 miles later smelling coolant. take it in they say the water pump is leaking from a "weap hole"...great...get it back..still smell coolant. very fricken frustrated. Not what I expect from a 45,000 dollar truck. especially a 2013....
I have a 2006 f250 with 120k. I am having trouble getting the water in fuel light off. I drainned the water out and replaced both filters and the fuel water sensor. The check engine light is now on and the water in fuel light is as well. I'm stumped and can't figure out what to do next. Will the check engine light come on as well with the water in fuel light or is it two different problems?
View 2 RepliesFinally after 423k plus miles on 7.3, bought 13 250 with 6.7, love it but... I noticed some shaking @ 45 mph, below or above no problem and only when cold. I was thinking it could be tires, they are Conti 18" original with 65 psi and I do not pull anything.

The owner's manual recommends idling for a period of time after towing to allow the turbo to cool somewhat. After towing a 10K lb travel trailer in the mountains, what temperature should i shoot for as sufficiently cooled? When towing the oil to averages about 210-215-F. Normal operating temp is about 190F.
My first opportunity to really use four wheel drive and I am having a whine and a very slight vibration from the drivers side wheel. The noise is only noticeable under throttle/load. When I let off, there is no noise. The truck is also quite in two wheel drive.... No whine.
The truck has been to the dealer for a front end clunk that is coming from the drivers side. The dealer, as usual couldn't replicate it, and didn't do anything. I notice the clunk more on the rebound. I also notice it when using more of the suspension travel i.e. going over a apron into a shopping center, or the crown of a cross street when traveling at a good speed. Short choppy pothole bumps don't replicate the noise as easily.
If I had to guess... The two issues are related. Narrowing it down will be the key. Transfer case? Failing hub? If I don't spoon feed the dealer, I will never get it fixed.
Recently my 2011 F-250 Diesel with 21,000 miles seemed to start hard one morning. After starting the truck it ran well that day and started fine. The next morning it would not start. Had it taken to the dealer and they went to work. Started at the fuel filters and replaced low pressure fuel pump. Thought a piece of the defective pump had moved up fuel line. Removed high pressure pump and found signs of rust. All regular service intervals have been met. Didn't see this coming. No water in fuel light or other warning.

View 12 RepliesI have a problem with my F250. The engine is turning, rail pressure 400kpa, but it does not jump at. Injectors are tested at bosch. High and Low Fuel Pressure Pump are new.Sensors and pressure regulator also. Compression is also ok on all cylinders.
View 4 RepliesWhat is the typical delay for the base oil pressure "switch" on the dash to register? When I first start up in the morning it takes about 3-4 seconds for the oil pressure to register. Same day, every start after it registers pressure almost instantly. Is this normal?
I'm thinking something is draining down overnight, probably the drain valve in the oil filter housing isn't sealing correctly?
Is this a problem as the motor is running without oil to the main/cam bearings for that short time period?
I went thru not having the correct oil filter cap last year and with a non-stock cap & short Motorcraft that it would take 2-3 seconds every startup as it had to refill the oil filter housing every time.
Now running the stock Motorcraft "short" cap & filter.
We have a 2003 Explorer Sportrac and the fuel cap light came on. Then ck engine light came on. took it to a dealer to check it out. Said it has a fuel pressur issue. could be the cap or something in the fuel tank. it needs a pressure check they said. cleared codes and put new factory fuel cap on. 2 weeks later it happened again.
XLT model 108,000 miles on it and we are the original owners...
I Probably don't have the right forum but I have searched without luck throughout the site looking to see if any one has swapped out their regular towing mirrors for a set of powerscope ones with power fold and telescopic functions. I also need to know if the wiring is going to already be in there for them , I know that the switch will also have to be replaced ,but is there any thing else? truck is 2013 f250 and this forum seems to have the most responses for that year and model.

View 14 RepliesI am changing fuel filters for the first time. I started by draining the DFCM into a quart container, but after that filled up 6 times I switched to a bucket. So far I have drained over 2 gallons and it shows no signs of stopping. Initially the truck was on a slight incline. That's the way I have always done fuel filters, with the tank lower than the filter. After the first gallon came out, I rolled the truck down to level ground.
View 14 RepliesI just noticed my 13 FX4 isn't draining water, but I checked inside and the carpets feel dry. Maybe I'm just being paranoid but the wifes Jeep always has a huge puddle under it. I'm sure the drain is somewhere under all that silver sound deadener. Is this common?
View 3 Replies2004 F550 with a 6.0. I had to clean out my fuel tank, replace the HFCM and filter on top of the engine. When I start the truck it will run for 30 seconds or so, start running rough then die. I opened the cap on the fuel filter housing on top of the engine to make sure the fuel was getting there. I turned the key on and the fuel bowl quickly filled up.
After a short time however, the fuel drained out. To where I do not know. I don't think this is normal as every time I've changed the upper filter on a 6.0 it is always full of fuel. Why could this one be draining out and could that be the issue why the truck dies after starting and running for a short period of time. I changed the o-ring on the cap and the new HFCM was purchased from Ford.
For the past couple of days i've had condensation on the windshields during cold mornings and nights and thought something was up. I looked around and found the carpet on the driver's side of my car is damp and there was a puddle of water directly underneath the seat. I've read it might be a clogged AC drain or something like that. Some solutions seem to be either blowing the AC drain underneath the car with compressed air to get rid of a clog, or finding the tube inside the car and properly reconnecting it incase it got dislodged or kinked somehow. Or does this sound like a different problem? Again only the driver's side carpet seems to be wet.
View 1 RepliesWhere the air intake for the cabin air conditioning system is? The past several trucks I've owned had a cabin air filter which I replaced annually. They get filthy and I can see why this dirt should not get into the evaporator coil. It will reduce air flow and here in Texas we need all the air flow we can get (106 today). It shouldn't be too hard to improvise a filter to wrap over the intake (for a cheap fix).
View 3 RepliesA 2 month old 2013 GTI cabin noise is driving me insane. Sounds like whistling or crickets inside the car and happens around 30 mph and above and its hard to point out the source. It is unaffected by vent positions, open or closed vents, air on or off so it makes me think its a seal somewhere. It is very loud :/
The dealership had it for a weekend to try and find the source but they said they taped every corner of it and the noise didnt go away. They also adjusted the doors and no change. Then they said other GTIs like my navi/convenience 2 door trim had them too but I wonder if its just BS.
Uploaded a video about it, but you will have to turn up your volume and wait for around 0:24 seconds in. My cellphone catches the noise faintly but it its loud if you ride in the car.
Do you have a noise that sounds like crickets or whistling and cant point out the source on a 2 Door too?
