2012 F350 Lariat - want to install cab lights. Can't locate correct wire to tap for power. I want to use the same power that powers the parking lights so these come on as they should. Is the best connect on the driver or passenger side, and what color wire is it? I've read yellow with green stripe (and found about 4 of them) and a brown wire I couldn't find.
View 1 RepliesMy fathers truck had the tail lights go out the other night so we checked the fuse and the bulbs both good. Took it to ford and they found that a wire harness in the front left wheel well had rubbed through and needed replacement. I went and checked mine and yup it was rubbing through the wire just not all the way yet. Might want to take a look. It is at the top of the well near the coil spring. I will get the camera out tomorrow in the daylight and take a picture of the location.
View 13 RepliesI picked up my new truck this week and am trying to learn everything about it. My current issues is my heated mirrors. My mirrors have the little icon in the corner for heated mirrors, when I looked in the manual to find the button to turn them on it showes the rear window defrost and the mirrors on the same button with both icons. My truck only has the button with the rear window icon on it. Do I have the wrong mirrors or the wrong button? Truck is a 2012 CC lariat with the Ultimate package.

View 13 RepliesI have a 2001 F350 XLT with cloth seats. In 2003 I upgraded those seats to power seats.
- When I upgraded to power seats I did not run a new power wire. Since my 2001 was at least fused for power and heated seats I located the Power seat 30amp power wire.
- That wire is located on engine compartment fuse #15 (Circuit 5298 as I recall) and Dark Green. It comes through the firewall and runs down the drivers side kick panel along the floor and then intersects with the power and ground seat belt wires that ran under the seat.
- The ground wire was coiled and attached to a ground stud behind the drivers side kick panel.
About a month ago I had a mouse get in and chew my seat wiring to shreds. I built my own harness and am good to go there, however since I had these seats all apart I decided to replace the foam and add HEAT.
So that brings me to the specific question. In the engine compartment fuse box, there is a 30amp positive wire for Heated seats. My schematic says it is a 14 gauge wire RD/BK on circuit 1153.
Where in the heck is this wire? I have literally tore the dash apart looking for this wire.
- I have verified the following with my fluke continuity tester.
- It is not part of the four customer access wires that drop on the right side of the interior fuse panel.
- It is not part of the tow wire bundle.
- I have checked the bundle that the Dark Green Power seat wire is in and there are no RD/BK wires in that bundle. I also poked the other 2 14 gauge (Yellow/Blue) wires in that bundle and verified they are not them.
-I have checked the three wire bundles behind the passenger side glove box and was unable to locate.
- I have verified it is not stored behind the compartment below the cigarette lighter.
I am looking for info which wire I am talking about and knows where Ford stored them when not used by having the XLT Trim with cloth seats. Yes I am aware that I can run an additional wire with a 30 amp fuse to the batter, but I would prefer to use the system and fuse that was designed for this.
I'm getting ready to put in my new double din and it said to hook the wire for the camera up to the reverse light wire. Which one this is on the harness coming out of the column?

View 11 RepliesMy 2012 F250 6.7 once again (third time in 2k miles) got stuck in park with no brake lights or traction control. I found that removing the shroud from the steering wheel allowed me to manually activate the solenoid and get into gear but could only drive in manual shift mode.
Something is causing the brake switch fuse to blow. When I replace the fuse all is well for maybe 1k miles then it happens again! After the second time I replaced the brake switch thinking it was the cause but no deal. It happened a third time. The dealer who fixed it the first time could not find the cause.
This is frustrating and downright dangerous! What in the circuit could be causing the short?
About a month ago my 2005 Ford Excursion 6.0 wouldn't crank. Everything came on fine and there was no sign of a problem. when I tried to crank it nothing happened. I read about the yellow/blue wire on the passenger side and tried that. It cranked right up, and then worked fine with the key. No other problems until today. Same thing happened again. What could this be?

View 16 RepliesI have a 2013 Accent and have installing driving lights. I am looking for the correct high beam wire on the driver's side on the headlight assembly. I will then run this to a relay so that when I turn on my highs, the driving lights will come on. I have tried to locate the correct wire but the one wire that is hot when the highs are on, is still hot when the car is off as well as the lights.

View 14 Replieswas looking for the oil pressure sensor and can't find it got it narrowed to 2 there is a sensor between the the oil filter and fuel filter i think thats the temp sensor and then there's 1 at the say 11 o'clock position behind the the oil filter...both have a 2 pigtail connector.
View 4 RepliesI've had a 2007 Coachman Freelander class C RV with E-450 for about 8 months now. We have been on 7 camping trips to the same location this summer, and the engine has sputtered in exactly the same place on 6 of these trips. It's pretty freaky, like the road has bad mojo there.
We have to come down a steep incline for about 2 miles, dropping about 500' vertical at about 6500' elevation. Then we drive for 2 miles on the flat before hitting a big mountain climb up to 7500'. About 30 seconds into the climb, the engine will sputter, and kick out smoke from the tailpipe. The first time I pulled over, and it idled fine. I took off and climbed the hill just fine. Now I just drive through the sputter, and it goes away after a minute.
So what's happening? Is the fuel tank sloshing crud around? I never get a water-in-fuel alarm, although the E450 doesn't have much of a message center. It doesn't happen on other sections of mountain road. This rig has about 38,000 miles, and is bone stock. I put new oil and fuel filters in before the summer. This rig is the same size as my old '82 RV E350 w/ 460, and boy is the 6.0L an improvement!

View 3 Repliesjust picked up a 2004 (May, 04) F350 DRW with the 6.0 Powerstroke. I love this truck so far. After sitting in the driveway overnight, I noticed a decent sized puddle of oil on the driveway, probably the size of my fist. I took several pictures for diagnosis:
Any quick thoughts as to where this oil leak is originating?
Got the upgrade done this week to allow manual regen. Instruction sheet says 'press the 'Info' button until 'EXH FULL XXX%' illuminates. Not sure I have that button. I've scrolled through everything in the info center and am seeing nothing under any menu item that gets me even close.
