So loss power on take off and then stopped at store quick shut it down. Came out of store ten minutes later no start just turns over and over. I replaced IPR last year the one on passenger side near frame if that's correct and perhaps this is the ICP near back of engine?

View 4 RepliesI have searched and the only thing close is bad sensor for water in fuel light but it does not say they lost power. When driving or leaving from a stopped position, if I put any extra load on engine by pressing on accelerator pedal fast the water in fuel light comes on and the glow plug light comes on and the truck loses all power. Not 12V power just engine power. I have to let off the pedal and the lights go out and I have power again. Until I press the pedal hard again and it does it again. I have drained the filters and replaced them and still the same.
View 14 RepliesI just bought a new to me, 2005 ford f-350 6.0L turbo diesel with 220,000 miles. It has an EGR delete, and aftermarket intake and exhaust. I am having power loss issues, and cold start issues, and judging from these symptoms, I figured it was the FICM. I thought it had to be the FICM. As per the tech folder on this site, I tested the FICM. I first learned that I have one of the Bullet proof FICM's, and when I tested it (3 times) it read between 57.5 and 58V. I conducted this test three times both with just turning the key, and with the truck running. I then took the truck into Ford, and they gave me a list of all of the codes the truck threw:

I researched all of these codes, and it seems to point to the FICM, but Ford stated they pulled a reading of 54.5v. The tech then told me that the upgraded bullet proof FICM probably ruined my injectors, because my injectors we not upgraded. Is this True?
Even though my FICM is above the low limit for voltage, can it still be going out? I am taking the truck in to have the batteries load tested, so I will know if they are contributing to my FICM failing.
I have a Ford F250 Diesel, 6.0. On my way home on Sunday, it lost a lot of its power. It took several minutes for it to get up to speed on the freeway. I drove it home, restarted it, and drove it 5 minutes away. it still lacked any guts, but about an hour later when i went to start it, it would not start at all. What it could be?
View 1 RepliesSo I am not sure exactly what is going on with my truck. It is a 2004 F250 has a 6.0 L. Sometimes when I take off from a stop the truck has no power and blows some black smoke. Then the turbo kicks in and all is fine. It comes and goes when it pleases no matter the temperature. What started happening is when I drive it a steady pace on the highway sometimes the turbo gets quieter and louder and quieter and louder sometimes when it gets quieter I see a little bit of black coming out of the tailpipe. Sometimes it doesn't do it at all. Also sometimes when I let off the gas the truck sounds like it's trying to laugh at me like a wastegate is fluttering.

I have fuel up to the second fuel pump and it sounds like it's working but It just turns over. I purchased the Haynes manual but it doesn't have information on how to test the injectors or fuss box set up.
View 8 RepliesI changed out my fuel filters today on my 2016 F350 SD and right parts, no leakes, main filter full, and I did the 6 cycle fuel pump prime. Turns over but won't Start. Redid the 6 cycle prime several times now and still no start. Pulled the 2ndary filter lines while it was priming to see if flowing and got squirted on both lines.
View 8 RepliesTurns over great but nothing. just changed fuel filters all voltages read great. I have ScanGuage and what little I can tell everything reads good. Has been acting funny for a couple weeks taking 4 or 5 cranking attempts to start every now and then no real pattern. Runs great when going even when pulling a load. It has failed to start and I'm in my shop and not sitting on the side of the road.
View 6 RepliesI have a problem with my F250. The engine is turning, rail pressure 400kpa, but it does not jump at. Injectors are tested at bosch. High and Low Fuel Pressure Pump are new.Sensors and pressure regulator also. Compression is also ok on all cylinders.
View 4 RepliesI "Bulletproofed" my f-250 Super-duty last summer and she ran great for a time, actually she is still running great, except for one thing that is driving me crazy. On a cold start it turns over until the oil pressure builds up. Then she will crank and runs fine, also starts normally after warm, turns over a couple of times and cranks.
I have oil in the filter housing, have replaced the seal at the bottom of it. Just pulled the oil rails off and replaced the seals on them, and a new IPR seal and filter. I am still having the problem, F.I.C.M. voltage has been fluctuating between 45 and 46 vdc. I have a P300 and P308 code.
I haven't really considered Injectors because it is idling smooth as silk and has great power.
I have experienced a hesitation on my truck since I purchased it 6 months ago. I get a one to two second hesitation at take off from a stop. I have checked the back pressure tube and the one that goes to the turbo controller no problems. I have a Edge CTS programmer that only shows ... for EBP.
View 13 RepliesI'm taking my new to me 2011 KR 6.7 I've had it 1 week, to the dealer tomorrow to get them to look at the hesitation on takeoff. I have read on here that not all trucks are doing it. There is 25500 miles on it and have been averaging 15.3 mpg empty, is this about normal for what people are seeing? I'm running the 3.31 gear ad I thought I would get better mpg. This truck was built in Feb. of 2011 would it have the 400/800 settings or would it have to be flashed?

Symptoms : Within the past 10,000 miles the truck has begun exhibiting the following problems, sometimes in conjunction with one another and sometimes just independently of one another:Stalling on the road at low speed / low engine RPM.
Throttle pedal becomes completely unresponsive. Stabbing the throttle pedal repeatedly sometimes causes it to return to operation. Sometimes the engine must be shut off and re-started to return throttle pedal to operation.
Rough, surging, stumbling idle at rest. Will crank but not fire occasionally. Problem has become worse as of late. Repeated attempts at starting the engine usually result in success after much, much retrying.
Work Done : Local Ford Diesel technician replaced the EBP sensor, replaced the EGR valve and re-flashed computer with latest software -- all under warranty. Problems still persist.
Peculiarities : We have tried driving the truck with the EGR valve disconnected and with it connected, both at the technician's request.
With the EGR valve disconnected the truck usually starts fine but still stalls out at low RPM / low speed. Fuel economy is also cut by nearly 50% with the EGR valve disconnected. Really couldn't afford to keep driving the truck like this.
Technician speculated that if the truck continued to die with the EGR valve unplugged, it meant that the computer or fuel pump might be bad. ????
It also seems that the stalling problem manifests after the truck has been driven at highway speeds (65-70mph) for at least a period of 20-30 minutes. Stalling usually happens as soon as we make an exit off of the highway and begin to slow down to make exit. As in foot off the throttle pedal. Engine RPM drops then stumbles then stalls.
I wonder if this is a problem with the HPOP or ICP system.
Specifically I wonder if this is a cracked quick release fitting that allows oil pressure to fall after the engine heats up and oil viscosity thins out with the heat. Once the engine cools down sufficiently to thicken the oil, the HPOP finally gets enough oil pressure to allow the engine to fire up again.
When i take off in morning truck will change from low to 2nd and hesitate for a second and then go on ok. was sitting at light the other day an went to take off an mashed dn on fuel pedal an it just sit there an then took off, dont no whats going on.:-

Can a bad or lazy VGT solenoid cause a P132B code? I just recently had the turbo cleaned and the VGT solenoid replaced about 3 months ago. The truck is a bit sluggish at take off. Is there anyway to check the solenoid to see if its bad?

View 14 RepliesToday I was riding along and all of a sudden I noticed a loss of power. I look in the rear view mirror and get into the pedal and a lot of black smoke. When I get to where I'm going and stop I noticed the idol was a little loopy. I never saw a check engine light. I have the Edge insight. I had two codes. P1000 OBD System readiness test not complete. P2290 ICP TO LOW.
When I would reset the codes the P1000 came back instantly every time. I parked the truck for about an hour. When I started it back up everything was normal. The power was back and no smoke. This happened two more times throughout the day. I have heard people describe a sticking EGR Valve causing these symptoms. Is that where I should start looking or is the ICP the culprit or something else?
I have a 2004 F250 6.0 DuperDuty with about 170,000 miles on it, so far no major break-downs, just a starter and a blinker relay, but now I have a problem.
When I start now, the truck starts fine and it sounds fine, but it has almost no power even if I floor the gas peddle, there is a delay of like 2-3 seconds and then responds slowly, like some tractor. Eventually it starts to move slowly, and after it warms up (after a few minutes), the gas peddle responds more normal.
Also - at about 45mpg, at lower RPMs about 1250, the engine starts to shake (weird), it doesn't do it at idle about 850 RPM, or when I get it up to about 1800RPM+, but at about that 1250 RPM it does do it, luckily I driver locally for a few miles.
What could this be ? What exactly happens when I press on the gas peddle, what systems are involved and in which order?
Occasionally when I'm driving, I'll accelerate and get a brief loss of power, then it'll pick back up, followed by a puff of white/blue smoke. This usually happens when the oil is over 120*, but not quite to full operating temps. It doesn't happen every time either. Only 3 times in the past week. Otherwise, there is a very faint haze of white smoke that seems to be constant. It is very difficult to see unless against a dark background. Oil level is good, I check it once a week, no rising or lowering levels.
I pulled the EGR yesterday, all good, although a tad dirty. Cleaned up no problem. Haven't had a chance to do a bubble test yet. There are some DTCs, but I can't remember off the top of my head what they were. I'm about to go clean the inside of the truck, so I will pull those and update in a few minutes.
Truck has about 148,500 miles.
