Will the oil pressure switch (sending unit) on my E series van be in the same location as on an F series truck even though the van's oil filter is under the engine instead of on top? I'm referring to the single wire sender for the dash gauge.

I just added 2 used 08 E350s to the fleet both about 180k on em and 1 has a little issue with oil temp and pressure. Driving ect is 222 and oil temp hits 240 then oil gauge drops to 0 and oil light comes on. I know the cooler is junk, but I am gonna pull the lp pump off and see what I find. I have a chance to fix this, or should I just order the 13k box with a reman in it.

View 1 RepliesI recently dropped my tank and one of the connector clips broke taking it off. How can I find anther connector or clip, I have looked at the ford dealer, napa and oriellys with not luck. It seems as if they don't exist. The ford dealer wants me to buy a new fuel line. Also I did something that now I know is not good but I cut the connector out to take to the parts stores and they said that it can not be put back together. Is this true?
View 8 RepliesThe oil pressure gauge is dancing on my 4.2L '99 Ford E-150 (V-6) and at times the oil light comes on but there's no rattling or other signs of oil deficiency in the engine. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the sending unit and did an oil change today but for the life of me couldn't find where it's located. I looked all around the filter when I replaced it but to no avail. The Haynes manual and internet pics I find are not recognizable parts in them to reference. I can't tell if they're looking under the car, on top, driver's side etc.
View 11 RepliesI've read some treads on the temp gauge sending unit but I'm a little foggy on where to look for my problem. I just purchased a 2000 F250 7.3, temp gauge not working. It has a new sending unit. I read some threads about the voltage at the plug but I have no voltage on either side of the plug. The way I understand it red/white wire goes to the battery. Is there a fuse between them and which one is it? and if fuse is ok is there a cronic problem that someone might know of that I can look for?
View 7 RepliesSo I did the hutch mod several months ago and all was fine.. Couple days ago I went to fill up, cheap diesel, for upcoming trip.
Fuel gauge was working and showing just less than 1/2 tank. Went to Walmart with gift card and started pumping. Got to talking with duramax owner and noticed fuel was finished. did not pop off like the level was high in fill tube just can to end of money..
SO I get in, turn on key to get mileage to mark down miles, gallon, amount etc and noticed the fuel gauge look like it wanted to go up and then it drops to "E" and the fuel light comes on..
Yesterday I drop spare and check sending unit connection which was OK so must be issue with sending unit. ?? So I might need to take camper shell off, fiberglass, and lift bed.. too much fuel in tank and not going to be driving it enough to get down. What size are the bolts holding bed to frame and how do I need do this??
Trying to locate the wires for the 4 Auxiliary switches as I want to tie into #4 to the 10 amp switch. This is on a 2015 F350 with a 6.7 engine. Book says the wires are located to the right of the glove box door and just above the passenger side kick panel. Tried this location with no success.
On my 2009 dually the wires were easily located on the drivers side on the firewall in the engine compartment.
know where the Oil Pressure Sending Unit is located on a 2011 Corolla. I am planning on taping into that so that I can attach a bypass oil filter that will slow filter the oil down to 2 microns. Although in doing that, I will not ever have to change the oil again, but only change out the filters and top the oil off. I will occasionally need to send in an oil sample to make sure that there is no degradation in the oil.

I have a sending unit with those dimensions and would like something more compact if at all possible. The range needed would be 0-100psi.
1993 TransSport 3.8: Where the heck is the oil pressure sending unit, and what is the best way to access it? What size of OPSU socket does it take; 1", 1 & 1/16", or 1 & 3/16". Do I need the 3/8" or 1/2" drive; extra deep or other wise? The van has a gauge on the dash.

View 14 RepliesMy truck was leaking a bit of oil in the valley that was running down the back of the engine. Found the oil pressure switch was leaking up through the plug, replaced it and when I fired the truck up it was leaking more than before. Long story short, the oil pressure switch stripped out the oil cooler cover. I've been doing some research online and found a few threads about adapters that guys have made but no luck on where to buy one. I really was hoping to not have to tear this thing down to the oil cooler again.
View 4 RepliesProbably needs to get, f I had a part number for the A/C high pressure cutoff switch, and the 4 wire connector (2006 MY)? I guess for the 6.0L it is actually called "Dual Function Pressure Switch, DFPS".
Was dealing with some chaffing and wanted to add to my "parts list spreadsheet".
Base numbers:
A/C high pressure cutoff switch: 19D594
A/C cycling switch: 19E561
Found the clutch connector part number: Aftermarket - DD1085
Probably need to call this thread "I hate electrical problems also!"
2004 6.0. 160K miles.
I'm about to replace an injector and wanted baseline info on fuel pressure before doing the work. Using a gauge tapped into the top of an aluminum alloy fuel filter cap (from bulletproof diesel), I turned the switch key on but did not start the engine.
Static pressure jumped to 60psi, but as soon as the pump cut off the pressure dropped off to zero. Again, engine not started. I cycled the key off and back on and the pressure hit 60psi and held that until the pump cycled off, then dropped back to zero.
I'd like to get a few confirmations that fuel pressure should or should not fall off when the pump kicks off.
Side note, during the crank process the pressure jumps and holds at 60psi and stays at 60psi while idling. I have not conducted a dynamic road test yet. Didn't have the adapter to connect my long hose...
So I have an issue over the last couple weeks, when I open the driver's door the power steps extend, and anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute later the step will retract like I closed the door. I didn't notice this the first time so the first step out of the truck caught me off guard. Now I pay attention to see it is extended before I get out.
So at first I thought it was a step issue, like it wasn't getting a consistent signal that the door was open, but I noticed yesterday when I had the door open, truck running, and radio on it all of a sudden retracted. I shut the truck off and got out but the radio kept playing because the truck thought the door was closed even though it was wide open. I closed the door and opened it and the radio shut off and the step extended and retracted like it should.
So last night I left the door open, truck off, no key in it. Over a period of 5 minutes, the step extended and retracted 8 times. My issue is only with the drivers door, the back doors and passenger doors don't appear to have an issue.
Where is the switch for the door? I think that would be the best place to start in replacing that.
It sounds like oil pressure sending units are an issue for these trucks.. where is it located? 1998 dodge ram 5.2 L ...
