I have a 2004 6.0 with 75000 miles on it. My truck is throwing a P0470 code pointing at the exhaust pressure sensor. my question is do I need this sensor or can i bypass it? When I look up the part it only shows 2005 and up.
View 6 RepliesFinally had a good scan done on my truck at the mechanics. The reoccurring codes were P0478 and P0470. It looks like a bad exhaust pressure control sensor. Looks like an easy fix.
View 14 RepliesEngine light came on yesterday and started missing on take offs. Giving code p2285 Injector Control Pressure Sensor Circuit Low. I've done the research and understand the problem. It's the weekend and shops closed until Monday. Is it safe to drive in the mean time? Is there any risk of doing damage? What's the risk of it quitting or failing start in the short term, today?

My question is is this even worth doing since the valve is not there anymore I have got mixed answers trying to look it up some say it still affects the mileage some say it won't. I cleaned it once about 10 years ago. I have an AE also how do I test it and what should it read if I do need to clean it or replace it?
View 3 RepliesGot a P0470 code check engine light on. It's - 12 outside. Having problems with this in the cold? I seen something awhile back about a TSB about ice forming on the sensor on 06-07 engines. It's the second time thus winter it has come on both times it was - degrees out.
View 14 RepliesI'm at 76K miles and I had another exhaust sensor go bad. This time the check engine light came on and the truck did not shut down. I was prepared this time and had an extra sensor / code reader handy.
It was the last sensor in line and very easy to get to. It took me less than five minutes to complete the job. I did use anti seize, but as easy as it came out it probably wasn't necessary.
The service truck threw a CEL, and i pulled oxygen sensor performance bank one sensor one code. That would be driver side sensor between the manifold and cat, rite? Don't want to change the wrong one...

View 14 RepliesI have a little over 32k on my 2014. Left today for my first camping trip of 2017. 250 mile into the Eastern Sierras. Took a potty break after 125 miles or so and CEL came on. Used my CTS2 and got a P2201 code which is a NOx sensor. I decided to continue on to my destination and made it there safely.
My question is do you all think I will be ok driving 250 miles back home in a couple of days? Truck seems to run ok. MPG seems to be dropping.
Interestingly, the Soot % on my CTS2 dropped to 0% and stayed there the whole trip. Obviously it's going to the dealership come Monday, just wondering if I will make it home ok and not get stranded in the desert with the family.
So my truck decided to throw out the EBP sensor code. I am noticing a bit of power loss and funny noise when I let off the gas. I am 200 miles from home and not near a town or parts store at the house I am working on. Is it safe to drive the tuck the 200 miles back home tomorrow. I have a very important appointment I can't miss. I will be putting the new sensor and harness on tomorrow Evening

View 5 RepliesI have a code for #6 low contribution and a thumping noise out the exhaust. When I turn number 6 injector off the popping/ thumping goes away. Truck is straight piped and deleted. It started doing this after getting on it hard to get on the high way. Sounds like beating an empty pop bottle on something
View 14 Replies2004 F350 Lariat 6.0 Crew Cab 6spd... I just bought this truck a month or so ago has been a great running truck since. Before I got it it had headgaskets done, egr valve replaced, and new injectors installed.
Yesterday I shut it off and was setting up my scangauge and doing few other things and noticed I ran the batteries down to 7 volts. So I unhooked them and charged them seperately and cleaned the posts. Now today it won't start. Voltage shows 12.3 FICM logic and main both show 12v and FICM shows 48.5 and doesn't lower when cranking. CMP/CKP shows its not syncing and I am throwing a cmp sensor code. Its had the code since I got it and I've cleared it but always comes back. I've read its rare for a cmp sensor to go bad so I'm wondering if it sounds more like the wiring just seems strange its first time it wouldn't start and hasn't had any other problems.
CEL came on today on my 2011 F-250 6.7 with 48K miles. It did not show a message or shut down. When I checked the code it was P2479 EGT Out of Range Bank 1 Sensor 2. I was reading about a letter last year, which I did not receive, concerning an extended warranty. My questions are: What is the part number? How are they identified and located in the exhaust system? I found a diagram stating: EGT 12, 14 ect? How does that correlate to Bank & Sensor?
View 13 RepliesI bought my truck 2 month ago. I use it for commuting, only short trips now ( 10 min ). After about 2 weeks the Check Engine light came on. The truck is running fine, no problems I believe, starts easy. After another 2 weeks, the CEL disappeared. Another week, and the CEL came back on and it`s there since. I have a code reader, these are the codes and meanings according the manual:
P0299 - Turbocharger "A" underboost condition
P2286 - Injector control pressure sensor circuit high
P2287 - Injector control pressure sensor circuit intermittent
P0299 Pending - same as first but with "pending" status
This is my first diesel and my first turbo charged engine. Is this a common problem? How serious? It`s a bit strange that the error came up before but disappeared. Can that happen just because of the short trips I`m making? I`m planning a long trip soon with towing my trailer, so I want to make sure the truck will not break down during the ride.
I have a question for 11-15 Superduty, regarding the factory option remote door unlock and remote start. How far away does your system operate from?
Mine is good for only 50 ft or so MAX most of the time it won't work until about 15 ft from the truck. Been trying to get the dealer to look into it, but got told today that in the owners manual it is only good to 30 ft. Plus I randomly get a tire pressure sensor fault. The sensors are fine, but since the TPMS and door unlock/ remote start share the same antenna I think the 2 are related.
Since my 2011 would work from 100 yards most of the time I call B.S. on the 30ft. I feel that the new truck should work at least as good as my old one. Besides that 30ft is a complete waste, and virtually useless, in my opinion.
