I have a 2006 Super Duty 6.0L, and I'm what are the two temperature gauges on the right side of the dash are? I'm sure one is engine temp, but what is the other one? Also, which gauge is which (in terms of top/bottom)?
View 11 Replies2004 f350. Trucks starts, runs, normal. But just noticed the gauges are not moving. Speedo stuck at 50, tach is at idle. Lights up just fine.
Have a code for the fuel sender, had that issue for awhile now, but also have u1262.
I have a 2006 F250 6.0 Powerstroke which i bought in May (My first truck and also my first diesel) that I am trying to diagnose a couple problems before it gets into the colder weather. One problem being that my glow plug/WTS light does not come on. What is the possible cause for this? My glow plugs and GPCM all work fine so if there's a bulb that would be out or where the problem would be? I'd like to have this light working before winter time for obvious reasons... and another light that doesn't work that I'd like to try and figure out is the brake light that should come on when you put on your emergency brake.
View 10 RepliesOn my 2006 6.0 the water in fuel warning kept coming on the dash. After going draining a few times and a few tanks later I knew something wasn't right so I bought a new sensor. When I pulled the old sensor out, it was full of gunk that was like a white jelly. I probably could have just cleaned the old sensor but I put the new one in anyway. My issue went away for a few months when the WIF alert came back. I pulled the sensor out again and sure enough it was gummed up. I've decided to pull that little panel door off and clean the inside. I have a few questions:
1) Can that oring be purchased separatly?
2) Can I just reuse my oring if it still looks good?
Have a problem with the gauges and radio shutting down sometimes.. Thought it might be a loose wire or something.. But noticed on the scan gauge that it would happen when the volts went over 16 volts.. Is there an external voltage regulator or is it just time for a new alternator..

View 1 RepliesI have a 03 f250 6.0 had it for 2 years never had a problem. Last week I went out and started it to warm it's up as it is cold out here and it started fine I then noticed some thing hanging down under the dash so I started tucking it up under there and it arced and all gauges shut off and the truck shut off. So I took the panel down and it was the biometric pressure sensor that was hanging and the previous owner had a remote start on there that I never knew about and 2 wires on the sensor were stripped and not taped as well as some others. I checked all fuses and relays all working good tested fuse box and everything good there, replaced bio sensor and still nothing turn the key and try to start it and it does nothing injectors, don't precycle fuel pump doesn't run and starter doesn't kick in. I jumped starter off the wire on fender and it turns over but still doesn't start. Also I think it's the ecu but don't want to buy another one if I'm not sure if that's the problem.
View 7 RepliesDon't have a clue what's happening here or where to begin looking but about 20 seconds after cranking the truck ALL my instrument panel gauges go dead, radio goes dead (nothing on it's display) and my driver door controls all stop working simultaneously. Funny thing though, I can still see what the computer sees with my edge insight that's plugged into my OBD2 port and all those read as normal. The engine still runs and I can drive with no issues. My headlights still work fine as do all my signals.
View 4 RepliesDriving my 2003 today seen the "check gages" light on and the trans temp gage pegged on hot. CRAP, tranny time! look at the edge evo and it reads trans temp as -60F ???. Plugged in the torque pro and it reads 8,240F. At that point I figure its PROBABLY not that hot. Let it sit for a while and back to normal. Watch trans temp on torque pro as I drive it and everything is fine till it gets to about 150, then it jumps to 60F, then 30F, the 8240F. The cooler lines and trans pan are both feel normal. Picked up a new temp sender on my way home.
View 5 RepliesThis is my wife's daily driver so I've got to get it done this weekend. 05 Excursion with 04 motor, 95,xxx miles. No problems until Friday. My wife drove to Seattle for a physical therapy appointment for my daughter and when leaving she said it felt like it was idling a little weird. She was at a stop light and when it turned green she could barely move, no power. Called me and everything sounded good from the Edge. Had the truck towed from Seattle to our house, about 60 miles. Idles really rough in drive, smooth's out a bit when in neutral. Starts totally fine when cold or hot, but doesn't start acting up until at working temp. When I say there is no power I mean the truck won't even pull up our drive way that only has a slight incline and is the length of the Excursion.
Only code I get is a P1000, but that is always on the tuner for some reason. I pulled the upper fuel filter and I'm getting fuel. Checked all the fittings I can see and nothing electrical seems out of the ordinary. New IPR and ICP within the last year. Tried disconnecting the EGR and it ran the same, but threw a P0403 and P0405 code. I've tried researching this and can't seem to find anything having to do with loss of power when hot. Sitting in the street in front of the house with the truck running I show an ICP of 750psi IPR of 28% @ 680 RPM VGT is 64.6 and MAF is 44.0. I can hear the turbo whistle, but show 0 boost which I think is normal when no load. I tried pulling into the drive when at temp and the truck was hitting 1000 rpm with pedal to the floor and wouldn't move, shaking and rough the entire time. Before all this my delta on EOT and ECT were under 5*
I cannot believe outside temp is not available on 2015's...I don't see it on any screen or in the manual.

View 14 RepliesI have a 2004 f350 6.0 and it makes 550 horsepower and lately when I go to started in the morning it'll start at once everything gets up to temperature if I shut it off it will not start again without starting fluid into the air box if it's warm...
View 2 RepliesI've had a Scan Gauge II in the truck for the last 3+ years and usually have it showing ECT EOT FICM main power and volts. For all that time, my numbers have been normal until last month. With the engine up to temperature (ECT at 190 or higher), my EOT is lagging behind - sometimes 20* cooler. I've also noticed the EOT jumping around for no apparent reason.
From what I understand of the 6.0 cooling system, the oil is cooled by the coolant and what I'm seeing shouldn't happen if the engine is up to temperature. The obvious fix is to swap out the EOT sensor but I figured I'd ask the experts first. Any thoughts?
2005 dually crew cab with 105k.
I replaced my fan clutch... Not a bad job, did it a couple weeks ago. I don't drive the truck much, but took it out today for the second time in the two weeks since I replaced it. The fan stays engaged until the truck hit operating temperature it seems. Is that normal?

View 6 RepliesMy best friend has a 2011 Ford F-250 6.7 ltd power stroke diesel XL. He was driving to Denver in -4 degree weather when all of a sudden his windows iced up and the temperature gage would not sit at normal operating range. ( stayed all the way down on the cool side) the heater seemed to be blowing warm air not hot like it usually does. The thermostat was changed 2 months ago any thoughts on this one?
View 14 RepliesMy check engine light popped on for me a couple days ago. P2043-reductant temperature sensor range/performance. Truck still runs like a raped ape, no change in driveability. Just over 21k miles. No "speed limited to 55" messages or anything else. Basically no change in the truck other than the light.
View 12 RepliesIve changed all relays underhood cause i could not find info on which relay is which, checked all fuses under dash. Checked to make sure up stream on 4x4 fuse position has power. And i checked for power at 2 wire on transcase no power at 2 wire, i am also finding no power at back of dashswitch.. Looking for a wiring diagram that shows complete esof schematic
