After driving about 100 miles there's about 0.25 gallons excessive fluid in motor oil. We are wondering whether it's about fuel injectors' gaskets or something else.
If we should replace injectors, where to buy them trhustworthy and also a quality ones?
The car is Ford Excursion 6.0l 2005
I just purchased an 04 f-250 Lariat. It only has 103k miles. first time diesel owner. When I drive it, it shifts smooth as ever. BUT, when I need that extra power to downshift, nothing happens. Nothing raddles, it stays cool when it warms up. Again, normal driving behavior its fine, until it needs to downshift. I have two referred mechanics, but id like to get a little more info before I take it in.
View 14 RepliesI have a new *to me* 2005 F250 and last night I noticed there is a leak around the brake fluid reservoir where it connects to the frame of the truck. Everything seems to be in good order not sure exactly whats causing the leak. It only when driving and for a short while after shutting the truck down, everything seems to be in good order but still it drips a lot.
View 9 RepliesI've topped up the DEF and the warning is still showing that I'll have reduced engine power within 45kms.
Its weird, just yesterday it showed 550kms to empty so I added one full container, all day it kept showing less and less kms' til empty. Warning lights and bells etc.
This evening topped it completely and still shows. Is there a way to reset it without having to stop at the service dept.
Not sure, it doesn't seem to me the dreaded fuel pump problem. Was driving on highway pulling my 5th wheel after going though the toll both it never went out of 3rd gear and motor started taping pretty bad, turned tow haul off and it shifted up. All along never seemed to lose power, as I was looking to pulled off high way and into A park in lot it started losing power then just shut off. All along this 2min ordeal the motor was knocking/taping. Seems to me like the motor blew.

Now I have a lower motor tap, taptap or chick, chickchick. Is the oil too thick on a new motor, 5,000 miles.
So, had a transmission fluid leak. Couldn't find the leak so I went to a transmission shop. The diagnosis is that a snap ring broke and resulted in a hole in my tranny, something about reverse gear pressures weakly designed snap ring.
Not too happy about this, being that I had thought that the transmission was the strong point of my truck... Is this common?
I was spraying undercoating yesterday and noticed a trans leak, it looks like its coming from the top of the trans. Not a lot of fluid just enough to coat the trans on top. I tried using an inspection mirror but i still cant see the leak.
View 4 RepliesFirst off I'm new to the 6.0 powerstroke that being said, I bought a 07 f350 with 102k miles in VERY good condition and I'm planning on doing the bullet proof on it. But my question is that when I start the truck it will turn over about 5 seconds before it starts up. I've even cycled the glow plugs twice with no difference. If I shut it off after it's warm and start it right back up it'll still turn over for about 3 seconds.
View 14 RepliesWell hear I am again fix one problem now I got another problem last time it was fuel now it's oil so what I got going on is a oil leak that looks like it's coming from on top the motor on the back I first discovered this nice surprise when I went into the store and came back out and seen two 8 inch round puddles of oil laying on both sides of the motor like I said at the back I thought rear main seal but upon further inspection it's coming from somewhere on top and rolling down both sides of the motor looks like near the turbo what could this be possibly a line or a check valve or seal or o ring on the turbo? Is there a common thing to go bad on these trucks to cause a leak in that area?
View 13 RepliesNothing to be alarmed about, I'm just letting y'all know I have a coolant leak on the front of the motor. It leaks about 8oz. Of fluid/week.
I have been through the radiator issues, 5 in all on my '08 and 1 on my '11 at 52,000 miles. This one is different, I'm pretty sure it's the water pump.
I'll give the official word as soon as I can get it diagnosed. I guess it's because I tow all the time, nothing real heavy, just everyday use. Truck is hardly ever on its own.
After I shut off my truck, about 5 to 10 seconds later it sounds like a compressor or small motor is running, and it runs for about a 50 to 60 seconds. It seems to do this even if i turn the ket on and off, sometimes. What this is.

P2479 b1s2
P2033 b1s2
P050E
P0231 b1s2
I'm assuming these mean bank one sensor 2 is bad. Need to verify? I don't remember all these codes when the #4 sensor went bad.
I have a 2011 F350 SRW with 3.55 differential. I'm was going to change the fluid, however, what type do I use? The manual calls for 75-90 with the Dana rear end or 75-140. How do I know which rear end I have? Is there a build sheet with code on the vehicle anywhere?

View 2 RepliesIn my brake fluid reservoir I have a little blue filter that looks like an upside down bottle cap. the bottom of it has a fine screen so as you pour fluid in it filters. Is this a standard feature or did the previous owner add this? Where I can get a replacement as this one has a hole in it. I accidentally got it with a screw driver.
View 9 RepliesAbout a week after my wreck I got the Parking brake light and the message brake fluid level low. The fluid level is fine and I read some other threads where people said the vacuum system was connected somehow. I knew the ESOF didn't work so I replaced the broken line and nothing changed, except the ESOF works now.
Anyway I can't for the life of me find a replacement sensor, part number or anything.
Ok this may be the norm, but I'm hearing something like a motor running after i kill my engine? It sounds like a fuel pump or something!!! O ya I have a 2011 6.7. I've had the truck for several months but just now hearing this....
View 11 RepliesOn our '04 Ex with 195 on the clock I've discovered a pretty good leak dripping. I crawled under it an coolant appears to be dripping off the back of both exhaust manifolds.
Less than 1000 miles ago we had an oil cooler and egr was pulled and freeze plugs installed by an excellent well respected 6.0 diesel shop. I don't think both gaskets could have blown at the same time creating two leaks. It runs fine, degas bottle still has coolant in it.
I've seen other threads that point to the heater core hose and more commonly the "orange" egr hose. It appears that an egr delete removes the hose - I think... but would that Blue / orange hose be there if the cooler was just capped and electrical unplugged?
The shop is going to look at it Monday but I'm trying to understand it better ahead of time.
What is the correct way to clock the transfer case so it will line up with the new transfer case shift motor. I have read that you should not clock the transfer case shift motor.
View 8 RepliesWhat is the weight of motor planning on doing studs in future and need to know what size stand and picker to buy. Pulling cab isn't option cus no lift and stand was planning on buying one 2 times the weight so it's good to hold for the weeks to get it done around work.
