Ok 2004 6.0. Recent work done is changed the number 8 injector. Thing was running great. Driving down the highway on a slight grade. Heard a pop and no power at all. Didn't see any smoke. Run the scanner get codes for ICP pressure and ICP pressure long crank. Icp pressure shows zero with ICP volts at .8. IPR climbs to 85%. Obviously need to check where I lost did work?
View 12 RepliesI have a 2004 late model 6.0. My son was driving it and parked it in the road told him move it and it wouldn't start. I got it to start and it ran for about 10 seconds. I pushed it in the drive way and left it over night. In the morning there was oil on the driveway. I found that there was the wrong oil filter put in and there is no oil pressure at start up and no oil entering the filter housing. Where to start would be great. I am going to get a Scangauge II to get more information. Could be the ICP?
View 4 RepliesI just did a pressure check on the cooling system on my 04 6 liter. It reached 16lbs towing an enclosed trailer and into a strong head wind. I was just wondering what's the Normal pressure suppose to be, or is there a Normal pressure. I'm using the new style cap with the larger spring in it and it didn't kick any coolant out.

View 6 RepliesJust changed the fuel filter in my '04 6.0, no issues worked just like normal, filter primed truck started, great. Well now my fuel pressure gauge is reading dead 0, I know that can't be right because the truck is running, but noticed my fuel mileage seems about 2 mpg lower all of a sudden. Had R&R Injectors installed about 40k ago, figure it's just a bad gauge but wanted to check and see before messing with the frickin wiring. Also, have had a lot of pressure buildup in the coolant tank, has had head gaskets and studs, anything else it could be besides head gaskets? Have had a lot of wiring issues with this truck from the previous owner....
View 14 RepliesI had new nitto snows put on my truck and low tire pressure light is on.....Checked tire pressure 65 front and 80 back.....Started truck and screen said tms pressure low.....Hit ok and drove around on and off for 2 days now and cant get the light to go out......Is there some way to get the light out or do I have to go to my dealer to have it reset???
View 14 RepliesLast week I was driving on the highway and noticed the oil pressure gauge showed no pressure. Limped a half mile to the mother-in-laws and called for a tow. As my truck was pulled onto the flatbed I could see oil all over the bottom of the engine, tranny, rear end, etc. Turned out to be a bad oil pressure sender, which was leaking enough oil to blow the plug off the top of it.
I replaced the sensor, cleaned the engine and under-carriage, checked oil level (which showed no loss of oil) and drove around for a week without an oil pressure gauge while I waited for a new pigtail. Put the pigtail in yesterday and drove it today for the first time since. Gauge was working, got to the bank and it was reading zero pressure again. Limped home and watched the gauge go back up quickly and then back down. This happened twice and was showing pressure when I shut it off. Checked under hood, no oil leaks and plug is still secure.
My truck gave me low fuel pressure and reduced pressure limp mode at 21,000 miles. The fuel and air filters were changed at 16,000. The dealer said all they found was the fuel filters (at 21,000) were what needed to be changed. Also, why does my truck hum??
View 14 Repliesno change, changed stand pipe and dummy plug on driver side, no change and guess what? Now I am stuck on the side of the road waiting to give my last $100 to a tow truck! Engine is hydrolocked, fuel pressure is low, starts off at around 20 and works up to 54 with key on engine off, and that is as much as I know from the side of the road with out my AE. Blew white smoke also. Smelled of unburnt diesel. I think it's linked to my rough running issue. Maybe a bad injector? But every time I did the click test they all passed. Idk, I'm gonna remove the glow plugs and see which hole is loaded and with what. . .
View 14 Replies 1st diesel was a 1997 F350 dually (White Lightning). Upgraded last year to a 2015 F350 (The Rocket Sled)- the kids named it hahaha. Had to take the 6.7 (9200 miles) into the shop... Last Sunday I took the truck out and about 5 minutes from home I got the low fuel pressure warning. Pulled over and tried to purge air out of fuel system- the low pressure pump was making a terrible racket. Turned around and limped home- reduced power came on soon after. Parked it until I could get to the dealership on Tues. Long story short- dropped it off at the dealer (low pressure pump still making noise/ no low fuel waning, just CEL light).
Called to check status today- dealer can't seem to duplicate problem. Service advisor said if mechanic can't find anything wrong, service manager was going to take it out and try to duplicate. The is the 2nd time I've got the low fuel pressure warming. The first time (around 4000mi. ) was in winter- I changed out fuel filters and it went away. I was towing the 5th wheel. Just had to vent-I have to get this figured out. I wouldn't thing the filter could get clogged within 5k miles. Have a camping trip scheduled next week!!
I just had my first fuel filter change (about 9,000 miles). After the shop changed both fuel filters with factory Ford ones, a check engine light came on and a "low fuel pressure" warning, along with a "reduced engine power" warning. It also stalls a lot and takes a long time to restart.
Obviously, they didn't do it right. I suppose there is air in the lines or something didn't go back together correctly.
My '06 seemed to purge itself, but this truck obviously won't. It is not even driveable to get it back to the station, to see if they can correct the problem.
The thing is, I watched them do it, so if someone can ask me the right questions as far as what I saw, maybe I can lick the issue in the driveway myself.
Changed the fuel filters. No issues in replacing.
Primed them by the book - key on 30 seconds 6 times
Now I have low pressure warning and reduced power.
All parts were FOMOCO...
Driving to work out of town and low fuel pressure came on screen.... fuel filters??
View 14 RepliesWeird thing happened today. Was out running errands, and upon pulling out into traffic I felt the truck lag a little. I figured it was the typical trans hiccup we all experience from time to time. As I continue driving, I notice I don't have any turbo boost.
I'm cruising around 55-60 and when I slowly give it gas......No boost. I stomp it and the turbo gauge slowly climbs to about 12 psi. At this point I waiting for the truck to throw a warning message and none came.
As I'm reaching my destination, the speed limit is 30 so I'm just putting along and any acceleration I did, the boost needle wouldn't move. I arrive at the store, and when I got back in 5 minutes later and drove off, My boost was back. Truck operated normal for the 25 minute trip home. I thought a similar thread was started but I couldn't find it.
Trucks been running great...did an oil change today ended up replacing the oil filter return tube new oem cap and filter..now i have no oil pressure at idle no funny noises everything seems normal..give it a little pedal and the pressure jumps up to normal...
View 11 RepliesI just installed my fuel pressure gauge, only to find out that I'm running with low fuel pressure at wot. My filters have a little over 2000 miles on them and I've had the blue spring installed for a while now. It drops to about 36psi from 61 or 62psi. What could be the culprit? Also I'm running the out of the box street tune that comes with the sct x4 because I get about 15mpg with it.

View 2 RepliesTruck has a high oil pressure leak, only leak i have found is in the high pressure rail, I cannot get to it till sat, or sunday. So I have to let the oil cool before I can start. Any way testing to find the right temp for Oil to thicken enough to Build? I've been here for hours and its went from 180's to about 100 now...

@ idle 58-60 psi
@ WOT drops to 50 psi, no less.
Tonight I went to catch up to a car that had no lights on at all to tell them and during WOT fuel pressure gauge showed it dropped to less than 30! I let off immediately and it went right back up. I tried to repeat it with another go @ WOT and it would not go under 50 psi like normal.
Motorcraft fuel filters less than 3000 miles ago .. Blue spring installed over the winter.
What is the least intrusive way to install an oil pressure gauge in these trucks and still maintain the input to the computer?
View 6 RepliesBackground: My 06 started up and ran fine until #7 injector took a crap.I had the injectors replaced with 155/stocks from warren.
Well no we're having an issue with a hot no start. Starts and runs just fine cold but once up to temp and you shut her down you can't start it again till it cools. Air tested it 3 different times can't find any leaks. Swapped out the ipr with a new one my mechanic had just to see and no change, unplugged it and no change.
What it could be. When warm and trying to start it only gets 300psi. The only other thing i can think of is hpop, but to go just like that without any trouble before hand has me puzzled.
