I have not been on here for a while my X has never had any problems 140,000+ miles. yesterday went out side to start her and let it warm up went back inside to make coffee came out 10 minutes later and found a server oil leak pouring out under the truck. Immediately turned her off popped the hood and found oil all over the back top of the motor? before I start tearing into it, need to know where to start. I've read IPC sensor, CAC hose, anything else to look for?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 F250 - Sudden Loss Of Power

I have a 2004 F250 6.0 DuperDuty with about 170,000 miles on it, so far no major break-downs, just a starter and a blinker relay, but now I have a problem.

When I start now, the truck starts fine and it sounds fine, but it has almost no power even if I floor the gas peddle, there is a delay of like 2-3 seconds and then responds slowly, like some tractor. Eventually it starts to move slowly, and after it warms up (after a few minutes), the gas peddle responds more normal.

Also - at about 45mpg, at lower RPMs about 1250, the engine starts to shake (weird), it doesn't do it at idle about 850 RPM, or when I get it up to about 1800RPM+, but at about that 1250 RPM it does do it, luckily I driver locally for a few miles.

What could this be ? What exactly happens when I press on the gas peddle, what systems are involved and in which order?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 F250 - Sudden Loss Of Power

I've got a 2004 F250, 6.0, with 150k miles. I was pulling a motorcycle trailer uphill in the mountains when suddenly I couldn't go over 10 to 15 mph. All the gauges read good but it just couldn't get any power.

Got to the top and checked over everything. Didn't see any issues. Drove it home (200 miles) the next day. It drove okay on highway but it felt like the turbo wasn't coming on. Coolant was low and EGR was gunked up but only slightly wet. From what I read, it sounds like EGR cooler is failing but would that cause the turbo not to come on or feel like that loss of power? Reading another thread, I thought it might be the fuel pickup but I dropped the tank and the sending unit looked very good.

I'm ready to throw on a bulletproof egr cooler, oil cooler and rebuild the turbo if necessary but hate to get to the end and find out none of that worked.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 F250 Just Died All Of A Sudden - Intermittent Power Loss

Ok I have an early 2004 F250. Recently changed out the #8 injector and then had to replace the ICP Sensor. Was running great then while driving down the road just died all of a sudden. Would start right back up with no issues. Continue driving and I am getting intermittent power loss. Also noticed that when it would lose power suddenly the glow plug light would come on.

Codes are P0102, P0113, P0272, and P1000.

P0102 Mass or Volume flow circuit low input
P0113 Intake Temp circuit High input

These are just soft codes not setting a light off. MAF is plugged in and I will check wiring here later after work but could this be causing my intermittent issues?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Coolant Leak - Puddle Under The Truck After Parked

My good friend has a 2011 6.7 and has been dealing with a coolant leak for a few months. Dealership has had the rig a few times and said it passed " a pressure" test etc. and they see no issue, yet he finds a puddle under the truck when after it has been parked. How best to check it out? I'm not familiar with some of the common trouble spots on the 6.7 like I am with the 7.3.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - All Of A Sudden Rear Passenger Tire Is Locking Up

I have a 04 F250 6.0 and change transmission and transfer case. Now all of a sudden the rear passenger tire is locking up but the rear driver side still moves. I've dropped the carrier and the ring and pinion looks great and so does the spider gears ... Need on whole new rear....

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Losing Coolant Pressure - Pin Hole Leak Somewhere Once Shut The Truck Off

I noticed when I shut off the truck about 30-40 minutes later I'll open the degas bottle cap and notice there is no pressure.

I used a coolant pressure tester kit and pumped in 16PSI but couldn't hear or find the leak.

I'm going to buy a smoke machine in a month or two but until then, can I still drive the truck ?

I'm guessing it is a pin hole leak somewhere as once I shut the truck off... there is a lot of coolant pressure.

When I'm driving sometimes it will pour black smoke and make no boost, and then the next time I get on the throttle it goes make to making boost like normal. It has the following thing done in the last 50k. I have a 2006 f-250 lariat FX4 it has the following mods:

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Barely Runs / Misses - Fuel Pouring From Underside Of Motor

So, after sitting for about 4 weeks, I go to start my 2011 F350, 16,000 miles, with a 6.7. Barely runs, "misses", fuel pouring from the underside of the motor, all over the ground. I figure out pretty quickly, #8 fuel injector was blown out of its hole. Clamp is busted.

Two days later (this morning), dealer calls and says we have all the parts we need to fix your truck, except the clamp. Guy says no ETA on the clamp from Ford. Truck will just sit, for an indefinite period of time. Asked him what they were going to do. He said, wait for the part to show up.

Putting aside the oddity of the clamp breaking, how is it that Ford doesn't have the part and doesn't know when it will? Is this a Ford problem or a lazy dealer? This really won't do. Its racing season and I need my truck!

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2003 - Coolant Pouring Out The Tail Pipe After BPD Oil Cooler Installation?

My buddy install a BPD air/oil oil cooler in his 2003 F250 last week and now there is coolant pouring out the tail pipe. I haven't seen it but he tells me there is quite a bit coming out. It wasn't doing this before we installed the BPD oil cooler. Normally I would say bad EGR cooler but his EGR is deleted. This is the 3rd BPD cooler I've put in and this is the first time I've had any issues after the install. The install went smooth other than we broke the radiator and had to install a new one. I feel bad cause I'm hoping it wasn't something I caused but I just can't think of anything I did during this install that would cause coolant to be getting into the exhaust. He just had it towed to the local Ford dealership.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 6.0 - No Start - HPO Oil Leak?

I'm working on an early 2004 6.0 currently. The guy was driving down the road when it cut back to nothing but an idle and now is a no start. In the four months it's been dead, they've been able to tell him fuel pressure is good and they found to broke wires. So watching numbers while cranking on it, ficm says yes, voltage is at 48, Icp desired was over 1600, Icp actual is just cresting 550-600 where the engine is just about to start. So that tells me it has a hpo oil leak. I pulled the oil filter and held down the valve and had someone crank to test low pressure just in case. So I pulled the passenger side valve cover and it's an 04 so no standpipe, it's a high pressure line, I capped the line off and cranked watching numbers and Icp actual climbed over 900 and she fired and ran, on the driver side of course. So this being an early 04 with no dummy plug or standpipe, the only hpo oil leaks left are the oil rail nipple o rings and the top injector o rings correct?

A little background, this is an 04, f-350. It sis not start a week ago so I charged the batteries and it started, started fine this morning, (had not driven it for the week) Drove it to work, 35 miles, parked it, and it will not start.

I downloaded Torque and got a few numbers,

HPOP 1900 FMP 48V (repaired last summer) and FVP 11.5V.

Ran out of battery to surf more and look, so I am trying to figure out the app, and the issue with the truck. It seems to turn over good, until I ran the battery down, and the GP cycles normally, and the injector buzz seems good. Temp is in the 50's...

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Sudden 6 Mpg Rise?

Last week I took my first long drive since taking in my truck for its 24000km service. Also first real drive on my new toyo m/t 275/70/18 ( same size as stock michelins )

About 1 hour into the drive, My exhaust regened, then slightly after I hit ( not held ) the ok button and it reset my trip. Which was strange as you need to hold it down to reset. But the bar just kept going. Then suddenly I went from 12.8 l /100 to 19 l / 100. Or converted it about 18-19 mpg to 14. After stopping and resetting the truck, it resumed 12.8 at 110 kmph.

Then today coming back on a 4-hour drive doing anywhere from 100 - 130 kmph ( 60 - 80 mph ) I could not get it to move off 13.8 l / 100 km. more then + or - .3

Is a 6 mpg difference normal for adding mudders? Or is my truck glitching or plugged somewhere.

04 with 170k miles. truck runs fine. every now and then truck shuts off while driving. turn it off the it restarts every time. Only code that comes up is number 6 injector. The contribution test injector is firing right. FICM voltage is 47.5. has new ipr and hpop also 6k miles ago. Could it be number 6 shorts out or something crazy killing truck? or maybe a crank sensor.

Last friday, my truck died while running. I let it sit for a few hours, went out and it started right up. Went to get pizza for my kids and I got 5 blocks from my house and I barely had any power. Truck died again while getting pizza and had to tow it home. Now it will not start. I have checked fuses, taken apart the fuel pump on the motor and cleaned the water from it, added a fuel treatment and also did an old truckers trick with the fuel (10% gasoline). the truck will crank and make an attempt to fire but it will not start. I have 3 kids and this is my ONLY transportation. I need to get this thing running STAT.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 F250 - Truck Shudders Until ECT Gets To About 150F

I have a 2004 F250 with a 6.0l Diesel and a 5 speed automatic. The truck is 4 wheel drive. As far as I know it is completely stock and has 236,500 miles on it. I thought that I was having stiction issues because when the truck is cold and when driving ~55 mph (1500 rpm) in 6th, the truck shudders until ECT gets to about 150F. This is at a constant speed, when accelerating or decelerating it doesn't shudder. Today I held 40 mph (1500 rpm) in 5th and there was no shudder. I don't know the TFT the shudder goes away at because the epiphany about the transmission was today. Once warmed up there is no to very slight shudder and only around 55 mph (1500 rpm). Above or below that the shudder goes away.

I have a 2004 F350 with 6.0. My problem is the 4x4 will not engage from inside the truck. I have to get out and twist each hub to lock in the 4 wheel drive. If I rev the engine with high rpms the front will lock in with a big jerk. It use to lock in just by turning switch. What is the best way to fix it?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - Truck Died While Driving - No Start?

My wife was driving through the intersection when the truck died... Tried to start it again but no go, I had it towed home, and stared to troubleshoot.

I have a Scan gauge2 and these were the readings: FMP: 47.5, IPR: 84.71, SYC: 1, ICP: 0

I pulled the IPR (that was only a year old) and the screen was perfect. I had 11.5v at the plug for the IPR, and on the Ohms scale I was reading 1.8Mohms.
I went to the dealer and got a new IPR, and still no start. and the only change in the reading on the scan gauge was the ICP is now reading 56. The gauge on the dash is reading normal oil pressure, but I haven't checked actual Low-end oil pressure.

Last month I replace the HPOP, and 1 faulty injector. Now I thinking wire loom, defective new IPR from the dealership or the new HPOP has failed.
