Fuse 29 was blown when I got my truck, automatic headlights and overdrive lock didn't work. I replaced the fuse, the lights came on and overdrive locked out but when I shifted into park the doors locked and the fuse blew. How the door locks are related and why they would lock when shifting to park?
View 2 RepliesAs the title states I have a 2001 f250 with the 5.4 4x4 and lately the auto headlight / overdrive fuse keeps blowing. Both seem to function just fine but a couple of days later the fuse will be blown. I am not functioning the OD button when it blows so I'm guessing its something with the headlights. What else does that fuse protect?

View 1 RepliesMy 2002 f150 blows the overdrive fuse (#29) every time the overdrive tries to engage. Could it be the overdrive switch? Where is that switch? Could it be a speed sensor? Truck has an automatic transmission and a 5.4 engine.

View 3 RepliesI had a fuse blow today that runs the throttle and we could not move it. Replaced it and it blew again. I think this fuse is blowing because the wires on my overdrive are broken. Is there anyway to disconnect the overdrive until I can get replacement parts? As there not enough wire there to put them back together.
View 1 RepliesI have to manually lock my car doors, and use the door handle unlock sensor to open them. If i use the key FOB or power lock button it blows the fuse. I would like to lock my rear hatch, locking the car the way i do i can never lock the rear.

Going to have to go in shop. Seems to be a short in the steering column.
Then the dash lights go dim, headlights die, engine sputters and dies. I am guessing alternator most likely.
These two things might be related? Maybe there's not a short in the steering column, I dunno.
New owner of a 2011 Prius II. I have put 600 miles on it so far.
1. Is there a way to make the car automatically lock when I get out of it without having to dig my key out of my purse and hit the lock button or run my finger over the door sensor? It seems to me that once you get out of key range, it should have an option to auto lock - or maybe after a certain amount of time autolock.
2. On a Prius II (no auto setting on headlights) - is there any problem at all with just leaving the headlights in the on position all the time? They turn off automatically 30 seconds after I leave the car, so is there a downside to doing this?
I keep blowing the fuse to the headlights. When low beam is on, the right blinker flashes the low lights. When high beam is on, the blinker works. when I turn on the low lights, my cluster light indicators show the right blinker dim and the high beam indicator light is also dim.

I have a 1995 BMW 525i and the fuse for the AC keeps blowing after a few minutes. It's #9 in the fuse box. Before the fuse blows the AC works fine. I can't find any visible problems. Is there a common problem that I can check?
View 1 Replies2000 Model, The fuse keeps blowing on this. I thought it was the cruise control fuse because the cruise kept not working and when I replaced fuse it would work. Only for a little though, then I looked at manual and it says the fuse is for the brake position switch. I am presuming this is just like the old days and that is the brake light switch under the dash. They use to have two wires now there is like five. Anyways I do not see any bare wires or anything that would blow a fuse, is it common for these switches to go out or what??
View 13 RepliesMy dad's 1991 Ford ranger 3.0 2wd just died on him when he was driving home and I checked to see if the truck had a spark and it did not so I replaced the ignition control module, then ignition coil, then distributor and rotor cap(plug) and I put new plugs and wires on it a few months back too. I also checked to make sure that the timing chain was working as well (while I had the distributor cap off). Then I realized that the EEC maxi fuse was blown. I then found a fourm that said it might be the relay so I replaced the EEC and the fuel pump relays while I had them both out. Every time I put a new 30 amp fuse in the EEC slot and turn the key to start it the fuse blows and the truck won't start. What might be wrong?

View 2 RepliesFuse #41 keeps blowing...scan tool says o2 sensor heater circuit malfunction. Problem is that when the o2 sensors are unplugged it keeps blowing fuse the second I hit the key. Since last summer my truck keeps blowing fuse 26 and then I have no reverse lights. If I replace the fust its ok for a bit but blows again the same day sometime. The book says its the fuse for revers and overdrive. The overdrive button on the tree shifter stops working too but the truck does not seem to be revving any higher so I think the overdrive itself is fine. I can't find the short but its got to be shorting somewhere...
View 14 RepliesI recently got a ranger from my buddy and it keeps blowing the EEC fuse in the engine compartment. We have replaced the EEC relay and the EEC power relay. As soon as you turn the key it is blowing the fuse.
View 1 Replies2007 Camry LE. I keep my headlights in the AUTO position and have had two instances recently where they did not come on, and it was plenty dark enough that they should have. I was able to turn them ON, then back to auto, and some sequence of that finally got them to come on while on AUTO, but it was a little scary. I had other drivers flashing their lights at me so I would turn mine on. I guess I'll have to check every time from now on.

I decided that i did not want my DRL's on, so i ordered a Euro switch with auto function from ECS. Took out the old switch and installed the new one. Nothing worked right at all, DRL's were still on. Auto function no longer worked!!. So through VCDS i disabled the DRL's. Great, problem solved you say...NOT! Now the auto function, meaning the lights coming on and off using the sensor in the windshield just keeps the lights on all the time no matter day or night, like an always on setting.
The other settings work, so 1 click over and the parking lights are on no headlights, another click over and all the lights including the headlights are back on. So my issue is what happened to the auto function??? No codes in VCDS 09 cent. elect. I swapped out the original switch which worked perfectly, it now does the same thing that the euro switch does, full on in auto no matter day or night..So what am i missing? It bothers me that there are no codes and that i dont have use of the auto function.
