2001 GLS... Noticed the passenger front door window outer weather strip is loose at one end. Looks like a "tab" on the strip fits into a slot on the door panel. Since the tab is smaller that the slot, is there some kind of clip or something that holds the weatherstrip tab securely in the slot?

The front passenger door inside handle is loose, making it harder to open when pulling the handle.
Just had the driver window glass replaced. This is the second repair as the first guy just glued it and I think he partially detached the outer window seal. Is there a way to glue it back or does it need to be replaced? Is that something I could do. Now that I've seen videos, I could have replaced the window glass myself.....

I am looking for the part number for the rear drivers side window sweep/weather stripping for the interior. I think some adhesive from the old tint got on it and it is squeaking. When I wet it with windex, it stops the noise but I can see lines where it's touching the window.
My 2013 has developed a rattle. The rear window visor (outside) on passenger side is loose - or loosening up... and rattles a lot when driving, which is very annoying.... Took a quick look to see how this thing is held into place, not quite sure what's best way to take it apart...
View 1 RepliesHad the Ex inspected and the passenger outer tie rod is shot. It's loose and won't tighten. I was told I needed an outer tie rod. I feel like this is something I can do, but my question is what else should I replace? While I'm in there I might as well replace whatever may also be worn (or wearing). So what all do I need to replace?
2005 6.0 4x4 Excursion
I was away from the Phaeton for 2 weeks and managed to let the battery run down to totally dead (left Radar detector on). Started her up on the secondary battery and everything seemed fine, but, a few days later, I had occasion to put down the drivers window - no joy. Tried the passengers window - again no joy. The rear windows were fine. When I try to operate the window I hear a short sound like the window is starting to open, but nothing happens and the glass does not move. Because it is so unlikely that both front windows would fail simultaneously, I suspect a controller may need to be reset. Is there any way to trouble shoot this without a VAG COM?
View 24 RepliesI have a 2005 Hyundai Elantra and the passenger, electric window will not go down. Took it apart and pulled the motor off and tested it. The gear works for going up, but not down. I tested the wires and the switch. Everything was getting power. The power from the switch to the motor was checking out to, but the motor won't turn when the button is pushed to go down. I thought maybe the motor was bad, so I wanted to make sure.
I pulled the motor off the rear door and hooked the front motor onto the wire harness for the back door and tried it. The motor worked up and down. Now I'm thinking it might be the switch, even though the power was going to the right places when I tested it. Well, since I knew the back door switch worked, I took that switch and clipped it into the front door's harness and tried it. It worked going up, but didn't work going down. Same as the other switch. Can that wire harness be bad, even though it has power going from the switch to the motor for going down?
The chrome strip on the passenger side door handle has dropped off somewhere along the road.

Only goes up if I lock car from outside with key. Tried to (temporarily) remove fuse for power windows so I can drive to work (it's cold), removed fuse, windows did not operate, but car would not start.
View 2 RepliesSo yesterday I come out of a store and hit the button on my remote and pull my handle and nothing.. I hit the button a few more times i and i hear it clicking but its not unlocking..
So I climb in and unlock it from the inside and start locking and unlocking it and finally it starts working again.. I get home car sits for a few hours and i head out to walmart door opens fine when I leave walmart it is fine.. this mourning taking my son to the sitters it was fine and leaving there to go to work it was fine..
At lunch at work it wouldn't open again no matter what i tried i couldn't get it to work.. i call the dealer and have an appointment in the AM for them to check it out..
On a side not one of my drivers side front speaker in the same door is cutting in and out and hisses every now and then..
I have a 2004 Hyundia Santa Fe. The passenger front window will not roll down from driver side switch but will from passenger switch but then will not go up on passenger side switch. I found a broken wire on driver side and repaired it. I put a test light on the wires on the passenger side and used the driver switch and the test light lights when using the up button and down button! I have already put a new master switch in and tested all switches they all work!

View 8 RepliesLast night I was rotating my tires when I noticed my front right strut had burst, I think. There is oil all over the inside of the wheel well. I'm trying to attach a pic of it but not sure if it will work?
I'm 99% sure it is the strut, where could all this oil be coming from other then the strut? The metal rod on the shock is even wet with oil.
Can I replace just the one broken strut without changing the other side? Should I change the whole strut or just the shock in the middle of the spring? I'm thinking it is the easiest to replace the whole thing. Will I need a wheel alignment afterward?
So, I've been noticing that my passenger side window in my Corolla is being a little weird. Whenever someone opens or closes the door while the window is closed, the window makes a rattling sound. Also, when I play music in the car, the window sounds like it's shaking even though it is fully up. The other windows don't do this and it will stop if I press the button to raise the window. Another thing it does is that when the window is almost fully down, it makes a thump or a clicking noising and then it goes down. So could it be a loose window or a bad motor? Also, any way to fix this myself other than taking out the door panel?
View 6 RepliesFront passenger will not open. It sounds like it unlocks but won't open. I was able to get door panel partially off. But i can not see the latch assembly. Not sure if I should try to muscle the panel off more probably destroying it so I can get to latch assembly or try to make a hook of some kind to put down next to window to try to pull rod for door latch. I was able to get my hand inside trying to pull on the arms to open but it never worked. Trying to see if I can get more access to spray it with something to free it up.
View 3 RepliesI just got a used 06 elantra gls. The drivers side lock seems like it doesn't have enough power to unlock its self when I try to use the power locking. It unlocks fine with the key.
View 4 RepliesI have am 01 6.8 two wheel Limited. about 150K. My question is about both the front tires having more wear on both the inner and outer edges. The inner is a bit more but not by much.
I have been keeping very close track of my air pressure because I know the usual suspect is low air pressure but I am running 75psi and the max sidewall reads 80psi. I have never had it below 72psi. The truck tracks and steers down the road very nice with no drift or pull to either side. wheel balance is good.
Front end align is good. I have no issues with how she drives down the road. Everything seems to be checking out to be in spec..?
So, last week I got my transmission replaced and they also had to replace the CV axle because it was damaged beyond repair when the Transmission self-distructed. They drove it after all the repairs and said it was driving fine, just that it had a belt squeak.
On my way home (30 min drive) about 10 minutes in, still in the city, my brakes start making a grinding noise and sort of a thump thump thump when I brake which sounds like its coming from the passenger side front, it makes me really nervous. It doesn't sound like any brake grindy noise Ive ever heard before and it wasn't making any brake noises before it broke down. (On a side note: it also made a weird noise maybe the first 3 times I drove it after getting it back and I turned the wheel hard to back out of a parking space, that used to be when I heard the belt squeak but I haven't made it squeak since I got the car back.)
Everyone I talked to said it sounded like it needed new pads so tonight I bought new brake pads and rotors for the front and got everything taken apart. The rotors didn't look bad at all, just some light surface scratches, nothing deep, no warping I could see, and the brake pads look almost brand new. I did notice that the inside brake pad on the passenger side was missing its little metal plate that is usually between the caliper and the pad, so I went ahead and replaced all of the brake pads hoping this lost metal plate was the issue.
I also turned the rotor by hand on each side while the brake pads were off and the only difference I could notice was when turning the passenger side one it made a little more noise almost like it was loose.
I got everything put back together and drove around the neighborhood with my boyfriend in the car to listen, the grinding noise was gone and it seemed to brake really well (never got above 30 mph.) However, on my way to return the rotors to advanced auto (45-50 mph) it started making the thump thump thump noise but without the grinding, still on the passenger side. I can feel it in the gas pedal and now it not only happens when I'm braking, but also any time I let my foot off the gas pedal. The only time I dont feel/hear it is when I'm accelerating.
I have a 07 Ranger and the passenger door sounds loose when I hit any bump. Where should I start to make any adjustments on the door?
View 3 RepliesChrome Side Molding coming loose on passenger back door. I tried a clear silicon and clamped for 3 hours. Unclamped and trim is lifting back up ?
Looks like clip behind trim snapped. Any kind of glue or adhesive can be recommend that will work?
While clamping trim to door I put a crimp mark in trim. Somewhere down the road I will replace this crimped trim.
