Elantra XD (2001-06) :: Knob Light Gone Out - How To Open It Up To Replace The Bulb

The lights on the knob which selects the where to push the blower air have gone out. I took the dash fucia out and took the that piece that controls the heat and fan speed out. But I don't understand how to open it up to replace the bulb. There are little tabs around the piece which I tried to open but the knobs are connected to something inside so I didn't want to pull too hard and risk breaking something.
How I can change the light bulb? I attached a picture to the post and circled in red the area I'm referring to where the light bulb has gone out.

I've replaced clutches, brakes, timing belts, water pumps, radiators, etc, etc. My 2003 Elantra has 65,000 miles on it and a few years ago I tried to replace the PCV valve with no luck. The PCV valve is threaded into a copper/metal ring that is pressure fitted into the valve cover. When I tried to remove the PCV valve the copper/metal ring spun thus not allowing me to unscrew the PCV valve out of the copper/metal ring. Now when I try to unscrew the PCV valve the copper/metal ring spins in the plastic. I can't get the PCV valve out to replace it.

I just bought a 2006 elantra limited and neither of my keys will turn the lock on the trunk. I have looked all over for secret switches. My key fob doesn't have a trunk button but the lever beside the drivers seat will open the trunk. I don't think it is a valet feature because there is no lock on the glove box.

I Need info on drivers side bulb replacement , its a Xenon bulb and no where online have I found any info on this , only the standard h7 bulb is covered.

Got the light bulb symbol in the tach this afternoon. After checking it out, the LR inner bulb seems to be out. Am I correct in assuming I have to pull back the carpet, then remove 2 nuts/washers, and then remove the taillight lens/housing to replace the bulb? Any recommendations on bulb or just stay with OEM? I picked up a really cheap Hyundai Elantra 2005 that the kid that owned it really beat up on. Right now I am trying to sort out the issues so that it can become my daily driver for the next few years. First issue, When I bought the car the driver's window was busted out and the outside latch will not open the door. The inside latch works just fine. What to check for to find out if it is the latch or one of the linkages? I don't mind replacing it but I would really like to know for sure before I do. I replaced the window by the way. I also need the weather strip on the outside of the car window as well.

This has manual knobs - NOT CLIMATRONIC. This actually happened months ago, I bought a new bulb, pulled trim piece and it looked like a PITA. It appeared that I would have to remove the radio to pull the climate control module, but I didn't want to bother w that at the moment. I'm sorta hoping that it is like the B5 Passats in that the bulb is just behind one of the knobs and it's accessible by pulling the knob off. I wasn't sure though, so I didn't want to start pulling on stuff till it broke.

In the sticky post on the LED lights and how to change them. I was able to open the radio and removed the 8 green caps that was covering the radio's blue LEDs. I love the result.But the front of the HVAC knobs still shows the retro cyan color. I think it's the same blue LED with the green rubber cap over it. I tried opening it but failed. I didn't want to break anything. I want to go back and take a look at it again.URL...(Yes, the neo wedge bulb on the HVAC position indicator (left-most; Off, Low, ..., High) is out, I need to order some more. Originally, they were orange I think. I prefer blue. The green indicators in front are working fine.)
I had the bulbs replaced more than a year ago, but now I'm tired of looking at the retro cyan color. How to open it without breaking the parts inside?After unscrewing and taking the center console out of the car, I am able to isolate the radio unit from the HVAC controller unit and open it to reveal the circuit board, but I could not separate the HVAC knobs from the board. I don't know if the HVAC are soldered to the board or not, so that's where I stopped.
