I have this weird problem with the cruise control of my 2002 elantra gt: I cannot set the cruise control at 30 or 40 mph, but I can do it somewhere above that (just went to the highway and set it around 60 mph). What could be the problem? Do cruise control systems need calibration or would I have to replace it?
View 2 RepliesI have 2011 Elantra that the cruise control is not working properly. It started out that I had to slap it to get it to work. I have to push the Resume button to turn on, Cancel button to set, set button to resume and the on/off button to cancel. Was told I need a new switch assembly. Done that and same problem. Shop checked brake light switch and said it was working properly, but I think they just meant for the brake light and it was not sticking. Even had steering wheel pulled and put dielectric grease on the wiring harness.

View 16 RepliesMy cruise control wouldn't engage this afternoon and once I got home I noticed that the brake lights including the third light are on. Headlight switch is rotated to off position, checked brake fluid and its normal, backed car up and hit pedal thinking something might have been locked up but to no avail.

View 7 RepliesI was recently on a road trip, using my cruise control extensively (like usual) when it just quit working. I tried to reset to a lower speed, but it would rev itself back up to the original speed. I turned off the cruise control, drove a mile or so and turned it back on. The cruise dash light came on, but the right control buttons no longer worked. No check engine light. It's never worked since.
My local tire shop checked codes and found the tcm not communicating with the mod (cruise module?). I'm looking to take it to the dealer, but I'd like to be better informed with what I may be dealing with before I get there.

View 14 RepliesThe cruise control in my recently purchased '01 Excursion isn't working. I've done a lot of searches and discovered there was a recall for a wiring harness: 2001 FORD EXCURSION Recalls
I called my local dealer and they stated there aren't any open recalls for this vehicle, so the previous owner must have taken care of it.
Is there any way I can verify that the warranty work was done? Can I visually inspect the harness? What else I can check to fix the cruise control? The lights on the steering wheel are illuminated.
I have a cruise control issue. I tried the self diagnostics test, and the "cruise" light would not come on. (Also read that 2001 did not have a self test, so maybe that's why it didn't work? Also, when I first start it, all the other lights turn on except for cruise.) I checked the brake master cylinder and it has the double fuse wiring with 2 good fuses. Not quite sure what else to test. I just bought the X knowing it had this problem, but didn't know how much I would miss cruise control until driving without for a week.
View 12 RepliesNever had any issues with it before and was working fine on a trip a couple of weeks ago. On the way home I had it on, we stopped to get some food, and then when we started up again cruise control wouldn't turn on at all. I tried turning on and then setting, but nothing happened so I don't think it's the light. Checked the fuse and it looks fine (no noticeable distortion or break to the wire anyway) and brake lights all work.

View 1 RepliesThe cruise control has not worked on my 2001 escape since i bought it a few weeks back. i checked the usual culprits and everything is good. i plugged my scanner in and got a control module code.
c1945- park switch indicates park with vehicle moving.
I did do some live data testing and it does infact show park when in gear. the display on the dash shows the proper position.
I am almost certain this is the issue with my cruise. Where this sensor is? Doing a parts lookup isn't showing much.
One day it work and the next day it didn't. I checked the 15a fuse and it was good. What else should I be looking at?
View 12 RepliesI have a 2011 KIA Sorento LX (auto, 4-I). I'm very happy with my Sorento except for one problem. The cruise control will not set properly all of the time. I turn the cruise control on, get to the speed I want and press the Set button down but some times nothing happens. When this happens, I have to press the Cancel button and then press the Set button down and the cruise control will then set. Also, pressing the SET (-) button down to reduce speed once the cruise control is set will some times cut the cruise control off. The cruise control light does not go off but you have to reset the speed. My dealer says they cannot duplicate my problem and cannot fix it until it completely breaks.
View 5 RepliesSame car I posted about a couple of days ago. It was running fine. My son was driving on the freeway, and tapped the brakes to disengage the cruise control, and the transmission just stopped working. It was not in gear after doing this and the transmission would not engage. It was nothing like a slipping transmission. The engine just revs with no resistance.
Got it towed home and checked the codes: P1529, generic 'Check Engine' light from the TCU; P0760 Transmission solenoid C and P0765 Transmission solenoid D. I have googled these codes individually, but not sure how they tie together.
Oh, I overfilled the transmission. Probably a quart too much because I didn't know how much extra I needed for the torque converter. I doubt this is the issue, but I will drain the excess. Where to check next?
I've just bought 2001 f-250 crew cab and when I push the cruise control on the steering wheel it does nothing. Maybe a fuse or does my year have one of those master cylinder switches?

Attempted to do a self test on the cruise control. Holding the OFF button did nothing. Never went into diagnostic mode. Button ? A different fuse?
View 14 RepliesI just bought a 2005 Elantra GT 5 speed. Nice car but the dash lights (including the radio and climate control) don't work. All fuses are good the rheostat (dimmer) is fine. Checked the continuity from the dimmer to the back of the dash instrument panel all checked OK. Light bulbs are good.
Basically it appears that I am getting power to the panel lights, yet they don't work. The radio appears to be stock with a factory plug. All other lights and electrical gadgets work fine. I can not find a schematic to check grounding.
My college son's 2014 Charger V6 has developed three issues since he purchased it used in late May. The cruise control has stopped working and the anti lock brake and traction control lights are constantly on. Any possible cause?
View 15 RepliesOk, today on my way to work, I got up to speed and turned on the cruise control. It worked fine. I then stopped on my way to work to get a bottle of water. I got up to speed and went to hit Set. Nothing would happen. I ended up getting off at the next exit and turn off the car completely. Restarted the car and got back on the interstate. Got up to speed, turned on the cruise and hit Set. It worked. On my way home, no problems. It was just strange.
