Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Sunroof Uneven / Leaking?

I love my Elantra Limited! Put almost 7k on her already. I did notice something about the sunroof recently though. Recently, I noticed it isn't flush with the roof. It sticks up a little in the rear.
Also, I was washing my car today, and noticed that the "drip tray" (I believe it's called, the plastic around the seam of the sunroof interior), had some water in it. It seems a little water got through the area where it's sticking up.

So I just got my new 2015 Elantra SE - and of course, noticing every detail that is different. I feel as if it is 'skidding' when driving on uneven surfaces - and I don't mean off road, just regular I-95 and major roads with humps and bumps in the very old and used roads.

At idle (car is parked, no load on the engine) the engine runs at about 650 RPM. When I tap the gas - it reacts OK. Engine quickly speeds up.
However, when I want to gently, slowly increase the engine speed - say I want to reach 1000 RPM - it will not respond until a moment when it jumps up to 2500 RPM. Then it might decrease a little, but it is almost impossible to set it at 1000 RPM. I even tried to move the gas pedal with my hand.
It is Elantra HD (2009) with stick shift.

Is it normal for my 2014's sunroof to open only 3/4 of the way, then stop? I can open it the rest of the way if I hold the button. Any way to make it open all the way with one press?

So I've had my Elantra Limited for a couple weeks now and love it! But the past couple days or so, the sunroof has been acting a bit twitchy. When I hit the button to close it, it closes almost all the way, then reopens. I know it has an "automatic reversal" feature that prevents things getting stuck, but I checked and saw nothing in the tracks? Hopefully it's nothing major, since it's a new car.

Earlier today I went out to give a family friend a ride and as the temperature had climbed, elected to close the sunroof and windows and use the A/C. While out, I noticed an abnormal amount of wind noise coming from the sunroof and double-checked to make sure it was actually closed. It didn't budge when I pushed it towards the 'closed' position so I figured it was just my imagination.
Well cut to getting home about 20 minutes later and sure enough, the sunroof is ever so slightly down at the back, even when stopped in the 'closed' position. In order to get a proper seal, I have to tap the tilt switch up ever so briefly.
I'm hoping that the sunroof control unit has simply lost its bearings and needs to be reset and though I've got an appointment set up with my dealer for next Tuesday (the soonest they have available), I tried my own solution for the night. I put the roof in as close to the properly closed position as possible and disconnected the negative battery terminal. I plan on leaving it this way for at least 8 or 9 hours and shall report back.

When I open my sunroof, it doesn't fully open in one shot. If I want it fully open I must press the button again and hold it. Is this normal?

I have had my Elantra Limited 2012 for about a month. Just recently I heard a rattle that appeared to be coming from the rear of the vehicle, but after moving my head around I have since been able to isolate it to the sunroof right about the driver's head. I can reach up there an pull down on a metal hinge, and the rattling stops. Drives me crazy listening to a rattle right above my head.

2014 Elantra GLS ... Upon closing, and just as it reaches the wind defector, the Sunroof will " kick back" no apparent reason. This may happen once, twice in a row or not at all. I have checked the sunroof path and the wind defector, but no obstructions are visible.

Today was the first day I drove my Elantra on the interstate with the sunroof open. When I was cruising at 65-70mph, I kept hearing a noise that I thought was coming from another car. It sort of sounded like a popping or thumping noise. After a few minutes, I reached my hand up and noticed the sound was coming from the metal bar that rises up a little at the front of the opening when the glass slides back. The wind was vibrating it and making it flap in the wind.

Nothing is more annoying to me than constant rattles and noises in a vehicle. My 2012 Limited Elantra makes a couple of noises that are really annoying. The first is a constant light rattle the seems to come from the dome light area or the sunroof. I haven't been able to pinpoint it, but it drives me nuts. The other noise comes from the back doors area, or maybe the pillars. It happens on both sides, but mostly on the drivers side, and it only happens when the car goes over certain bumps, or when I take a curve a certain way. It almost sounds like a cracking noise. I've heard of glove compartment rattles, but that doesn't seem to happen with my car.

So I lifted the car up to get under there to change the oil when I noticed the transmission side was covered with fluid.
The mileage has never been good with this car for us and it never liked to shift (would race up to 4000rpms at times before shifting with minimal throttle). So I am beginning to believe that this might be the cause of it. We haven't noticed any spots in the driveway and the dealer has done all the service before this.
Car has 9000 miles now and is a 2012. It goes in tomorrow because that's the earliest the dealer had an appointment. Will update with what they say.

A couple weeks ago I had my first oil change - not at the dealer - but at a place I've gone a hundred times. After I noticed every day a puddle, not a couple drops but a puddle going down my driveway or wherever I parked of water.
I thought for a few days it was condensation off the engine, or the AC, since it was very hot. Except I don't use the AC much & wasn't using it when the water was leaking. I looked under the car & there is a hose hanging from the back of the engine area & dripping water.
I've honestly never looked under the car & noticed the hose & it's only hanging about an inch - so I'm not sure I've just never noticed... But until the oil change there was never a noticeable water leak..

Our Elantra Coupe has 3000 miles on it and leaks ATF. Everyday I see more than a few drops underneath the drivers side. We took it to the dealer. They "re-tightened the bolts" but the leak continues. I crawled under it, removed the plastic belly pan and took some photos.

So I changed my own oil today 2013 Elantra GLS, did everything as I assume I should have, pulled the plug, changed the filter, put a new OEM crush gasket on and replaced the plug. I screwed it in with my fingers until i couldn't anymore, then used a 17mm wrench to tighten it. Now I have a slow drip coming from the bolt. I doubt I would have stripped it, I carefully hand tightened the bolt.

I have a 2013 Elantra and yesterday all this water came into the car underneath the glove box / under the dash. When making right or left hand turns you can hear the water sloshing around behind the dash. Its definitely water. What is causing water to leak into the car?

I have a 2012 elantra limited about 9 month's old with about 14,000 miles on it.
About a week ago I began noticing a burning smell. I first chalked it up to being 1,000 over the 3k mark for an oil change. However I then started to pay attention when I parked if there was any sign of fluids leaking. At first I didn't notice any or seemed like one or two drips. Well tonight I noticed a larger puddle that was def not water.
The other symptom is that it's been shifting up at higher RPMs. Tonight when I got on the freeway I was trying to speed up to 65 but the rpm gauge had me at over 4,000 rpms with normal acceleration...I was not gunning it. I also could not get the car to go past 60 at first, all the while the rpm increasing still, until I let off the gas then hit it again and seemed to trip it to shift and was able to get to 65.

My 2014 Elantra Gt bought in May 2014 and 18000km on it now, the rear tires on both side are worn out pretty bad on the outter side of the tire. I took it to one of the dealer. The mechanic said that's not about the alignment, it's because I drove too hard in the corner..... So, I made an appointment with the other dealership which I bought the GT. I was told that it need the alignment and it's not covered by the warranty. I don't mind to pay for it but just want to make sure they will fix it.
I have the KYB on it right now. should I swap it back to the oem before I go to the dealer??

Myself and ZAC1 have an identical issue regarding ride height on our GT's. The rear driver side is lower than the rest of the car (or the passenger side is higher).
In my case you can notice it just by looking at the car from a distance, mainly from the rear. Using a tape measure to check the height of the wheel well to the ground, the driver side is 26", the passenger side is 26.5". I have measured it on a variety of surfaces just in case my garage was on a slope.

I'm getting a "thunk" or "clunk" noise when driving over bumps/patched/uneven roads in my Elantra GT.
It's a hollow noise, I don't hear it unless I hit a bump/patch in the road. Doesn't have to be a large bump.
25k miles, Automatic Transmission. it almost seems to be one side (right) more than the other.
Is this a common issue for this model/year? What was the cause?

My MIL is on!!!! I went to Autozone, they told me the error code is P0121. The car is running funny, with uneven idle, and bucking/not shifting.
