Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Removal Of Caution Sign On The Dashboard
Aug 4, 2013
This just showed up after I washed my car this morning.
What it means and how to remove it from my dash?

After oil change today, I see this blinking red sigh. I can't find this sign in the manual. Toyota is closed today.
View 15 RepliesI have noticed, in my 2012 Elantra with 32,000 miles on it, that my car is shaking at idle. I'll be at a red light or stop sign and the vibration is SUPER annoying. I have had it tested at a Hyundai Dealership. They couldn't "replicate the problem" and nothing it wrong with my car.
I may be trading this car in for the Veloster Turbo. I'm tired of how slow this car is. I know I sacrificed speed for gas mileage, but I have a question, does the Veloster have this problem as well?
My car is 2012 Elantra. I want to remove the fan control knob. It was easy to pull Mode and Dual buttons straight out. But I don't know how to get the fan control knob off.
View 3 RepliesIt's a 2012 Elantra that I got in June of last year. So warranty or anything isn't an issue.
This morning upon making sharper turns, I hear a sloshing sound of sorts coming from the passenger side of the dash. I've read that this might be a condenser issue, or something with the drainage and the AC. I'm not really sure. Before I take it over to Hyundai, I want to give it the chance to dry out or whatever if it is just some rain.
It's not leaking in the car or anything, I can just hear it.
I have a 2004 3.2 V6, which I have had for several months now and it's great. This morning when I took the car out of the garage, I heard a beep and a red 'Vehicle too Low' sign popped up on the dashboard. On a careful and steady short drive to work, I noticed that my suspension felt light and that regular bumps on the road felt more pronounced, also the front of the car looks slightly lower than the back.
View 8 RepliesCouldn't find a post for my year, but, I have a 2012 Elantra. I drive about a mile and I see 4-5 bars on my dash for the water temp. Is this common?
View 26 RepliesHow the black trim on the bottom of the front bumper of a 2011 Elantra GLS is removed . I am talking about the black lip or air dam in the center. Does it just pull off or are there clips or something.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2007 camry LE with 60,000 miles. About 600 miles prior to the next due oil change, I started seeing a flashing oil pan sign on the left corner of the dashboard while braking (only while braking).
I did not figure out the reason and might have run another 100 miles before taken to the dealer. Dealer found no oil on dipstick. He says the engine might be burning oil and I might end up spending few thousand dollars in that case. He gave me a list of things to do for $1200 unrelated to the incident (break pads etc). I declined and got the oil changed.
He asked me to bring the car back in after 500 miles to check if the oil stays. There has been no leak. Now I have driven 150 miles and the maintenance required sign comes up. I have three questions:
(1) Can this maintenance required sign be related to the incident or related to the regular oil change schedule
(2) Could I have damaged my engine? If so, how to find out
(3) Why could the engine oil run out before the next scheduled maintenance?
Is it possible the technician might have not filled it up? (yesterday I checked the oil level (after 150 miles) and the level is well above the max needed).
2012 Elantra GLS. Wife comes home and says the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) light on the dash is lit. I check the tire pressure. None abnormally low but I decide to top them off. Notice that two of the valve stem caps are broken. The tips are broken off so I can see the little red gasket. On opposite sides of the car. No damage to the wheel covers. The valve stems don't stick out past the wheel covers so I wonder how the caps could have gotten broken. Could that be why the TPS system is giving me a warning? If by chance there was a pressure issue does the light reset itself or does the dealer have to do it?
View 19 RepliesNo Beeping sound for passenger seat belt, just flashing sign on the dashboard. Just want to see if this is normal or not? ( I would assume it should not be).
If so, I could go to the dealer and get it fixed. This is for 2013 Sonata GLS.
[URL] .... This is interesting! Too bad i just found it last night after i spent the last week removing my entire dashboard steering wheel/column. etc.
View 8 RepliesJust bought a 2011 Prius and I love it. When I push the power button to turn it on, the ESC light comes on along with the caution triangle light for about 3 seconds then both go off and the "ready" light comes on. is this a normal occurrence?
View 7 RepliesThe only issue I have with my newly acquired '08 Elantra is that there is no visual signal that the remote lock signal has been received. When I unlock it remotely, I get a single flash of lights, but nothing of the sort happens when I lock it; if I'm close enough, I hear the click of the locks engaging. I find nothing in the owner's manual describing any of it.
Is this normal, or do I have some weird computer anomaly going on?
When @ a light or stop sign the car vibrates excessively to the point it makes my daughter sick. I do feel it vibrating but it doesn't bother me but something is definitely wrong. There are no engine lights on, I can hear the top end tapping and clattering, I did check the valve clearances which seem to be barely within specs. She says it vibrates worse when the tank is full. She also said when the tank is full the front end shakes driving down the road. I'm kinda wondering the front end shaking with a full tank might be the rear struts.
View 4 RepliesMy 2007 elantra has been rumbling when i change gears occasionally and sometimes when stopping at a stop sign the car just dies. The car starts right up though as if nothing happened. It only happens like twice a week but i really want it fixed. I already changed the motor mount next to the engine block on the left. Could it be the motor mount connecting to the transmission?
View 1 RepliesBraking at a stoplight tonight, I had the VSC and ABS light come on. I pulled over to a parking lot and shut the car down. I couldn't tell any issues with the brakes at all in the short few hundred feet I drove to pull off. Turned it back on and the lights were no longer on.
View 8 RepliesI got a 2010 Prius. I noticed that when I turn the car OFF , the master warning sign (yellow triangle with an exclamation mark) and a message in Japanese (which I cannot read) appear for a few seconds. I don't see the warning when switching the car ON, or while driving. I experienced this frequently when switching the power OFF. Why this happens?
View 3 RepliesWill I wear out the transmission using the engine brake to slow down faster when coming to a stop at a stop sign or light, then shifting back into D when taking off? Should I just always leave it in D unless I am driving down a steep hill?
View 12 RepliesMy traction control light comes on sporadically when I am stopped at a light. Roads are dry and I have not hit anything. What is going on?
