Based on searching it looks like on older Elantra's this would always display when driving solo but I've only had the car 3 days and I never noticed this before. Will this like be on and orange whenever I don't have a passenger?

View 6 RepliesI just picked up my 2015 XSE yesterday and I am loving it so far. One thing I noticed is that even when I am driving by myself the yellow passenger airbag off light is always illuminated. Is this normal? I couldn't find anything in the settings. I would think it should flash a couple times then turn off.
View 10 RepliesHaving bought my Elantra just a few days ago. One minor annoyance however - on the dash next to the clock is a very bright, and very orange "Passenger Airbag Off" light. I commute by myself, so this is constantly on, and is pretty jarring vs. the muted and otherwise blue dashboard lights. Is there any way to disable this notification?
View 11 RepliesWhen my son, who is 83lbs rides in the passenger seat, the airbag OFF light comes on. This behavior does not seem to be consistent. Does seat position have anything to do with this? Is his weight too low to trigger the sensor? Or is it something to refer to the dealer? This query is for a 2013 RX350 with about 1,700 miles on it.

I want to check it as my AC is blowing Hot air from driver side and Cold air from passenger side.
I read that there are 2 of them, one for temp control and another one controls where the air goes, one at the passenger side and one at the driver side...
Which one should i start with, where is it located, and how to reach it?
My 1.8 2014 Elantra AC started blowing Hot Air from Driver Side and Cold from Passenger side and i noticed this after a battery problem. It all started when battery problem, suddenly both sides warm ac, i took it to a mechanic, he said nothing to do with battery and said it is a freon problem, he fixed it for 1 day or 2, and i went changed the battery, then suddenly, one side hot and one side cold.
Things i tried:
1. Removing AC fuses for 1 hour
2. Removing AC fuses while car on and then turn off car and replace fuses
3. Changed car filters
4. Hot cold hot cold switching technique
5. No freon leakage
Temperature here is around 120 degrees so you can imagine!
I recently tried to install a hid with relay kit on my 2013 elantra and I have ran into a problem. The passenger side hid only turned on for a second and was off right away and I could hear some buzzing noise coming from the passenger side (the driver side hid was working fine). I was not sure if that was because my relay kit only came with 1 signal wire, that's why the passenger side wasn't working or if the products were made cheaply overall. Anyway, I have attached some photos on what I bought.
View 10 RepliesI have a strange "wind noise" at 70+ mph -- only coming from the passenger side -- definitely the mirror area. I think the door seals are OK and the problem is the painted mirror cover making a sound (resonating/vibrating) when the wind hits it at high speed (I was tapping on it with my fingers and I could see where this might happen). So I went and got some Dynamat type stuff to put on the inside. But I cannot figure out how to get the cover off.
I saw a couple posts on people installing the turn signal indicators, with pictures of the mirrors half torn apart, but none of the posts mentioned how they got the painted cover off. I tried to pry it off by jamming my fingernails in a crack and getting a hold, but that's not working.
Started a month ago. Whenever I go over a bump, steep incline, or even just turn right (not left) the car makes this creaking, almost groaning, sound from the right rear.
Hard to isolate it since when I push down on the right rear from the outside I can't hear anything. Gonna head into the dealership to see what they think this week but it's always a fight trying to get them to do in warranty service .
I have a 2013 Elantra and yesterday all this water came into the car underneath the glove box / under the dash. When making right or left hand turns you can hear the water sloshing around behind the dash. Its definitely water. What is causing water to leak into the car?

Came out of the grocery store are the TMPS light blinked for a minute, and stayed illuminated. I carry a tire pressure gauge so I checked manually- all tested fine. How do I reset?
View 28 RepliesMy driver's side and passenger side door handles squeak when using them to close or open the door. Its kind of an annoying issue which surprised me due to the quality and fit and finish on the rest of the car. The door handles do NOT make noise when driving the car, only when I grab and squeeze and close or open the door. I will be taking it to my dealer's service centre at my earliest convenience to see if they can remedy the issue.

2012 Elantra GLS. Wife comes home and says the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) light on the dash is lit. I check the tire pressure. None abnormally low but I decide to top them off. Notice that two of the valve stem caps are broken. The tips are broken off so I can see the little red gasket. On opposite sides of the car. No damage to the wheel covers. The valve stems don't stick out past the wheel covers so I wonder how the caps could have gotten broken. Could that be why the TPS system is giving me a warning? If by chance there was a pressure issue does the light reset itself or does the dealer have to do it?

So my beloved 03'Camry was developing a bulge for sometime and now the bulge has cracked open around the passenger side airbag. I am taking the car to stealership next week, but I would rather hear from you guys from TN.
How bad is this crack, rather rapture around the edges of airbag and the dash?Should I be alarmed?

When a passenger sits in the front seat, the air bag "on" signal is illuminated, which stays on and I think this is normal. My question is should the passenger air bag light stay illuminated even if no passenger is in the front seat? Any easy solutions or am I worrying about nothing?

View 9 RepliesAirbag light / sign come on/off frequently from some days. Regardless the car is moving or parked, seat belts on or not. It comes on then after a while or minutes go off, then back on after a while/time.
I have no accidents, no body repair as well as no mechanical or electrical issues. Except the rear PDC (i don't have front one) not giving me sound/function since some months and I don't care about it.
It's Elantra 2012 1.8 litters, with 84k kms on board.
Warning - rant/venting ahead.
Yesterday out of nowhere the red Airbag light on the dash illuminated when I started the car. This has never happened before. I tried turning the car off and on, but it just came back.
The light comes on normally, then goes out. It then comes right back on at the same time the "passenger airbag off" light illuminates.
I made a quick check of the connections under the passenger seat and none seemed loose. I'm planning on taking a closer look and disconnecting/reconnecting the terminals to see if anything is obviously wrong.
I'm pretty mad that my Sonata has another problem. It only has 80k miles. I've owned it just over one year and I've had the following problems:
-fuel overflowing. I haven't been able to sort this one out yet.
-OCV failure. I replaced it myself.
-Lots of ABS and brake warning lights. Dealer eventually told me I needed a new ABS pump for nearly $2000.
-Now this airbag problem.
I'm definitely very dissatisfied with the reliability of this car. If I had it to do over again, I definitely would have spent a little more to get another brand. This has been the most unreliable car I've owned in my 13 years of driving.
A few weeks ago, a relative was riding in the front passenger seat and asked me why the light said "passenger airbag off." I had seen that on before and didn't think anything more about it as I rarely have a passenger. Called Toyota to login the problem as I was traveling that week and thought I would be out of warranty before I could get it to the dealer. That particular light was on for some days afterwards and then I forgot about it. Tonight I noticed that "passenger airbag off" is not lit, but there is a light saying "airbag off."
I turned the car on and sat in the passenger seat, and the light that came on for my aunt didn't come on. Just "airbag off."
