The auto delay feature has begun to fail. Sometimes the parking lights stay on for at least an hour. Sometimes they stay on even after pressing the remote lock 2x and hear the chirp. So far have caught this prior to dead battery situation.
View 3 RepliesI have a blizzard plow and had a shorted wire which blew the plow marker lights to pieces. Fixed short but truck parking lights still stay on. Only way to turn them off is removing the fuse. I have checked light relays by fuse panel and under the hood.

View 4 RepliesThe closest car wash is less than two miles from our home and we often bring the GX home directly from the car wash and park it in the garage. We've noticed that the parking brake remains applied when we start the GX the next morning, even though the foot pedal releases. Presumably, the parking brake components were wet from the car wash and enough rust/corrosion forms overnight so that the springs to release the brake can't overcome the 'stiction'.
The GX "squats and grunts" when we put it in gear, but doesn't move. Shifting into reverse solves the problem ... there's a loud 'pop' from the rear of the vehicle as the brake releases, the GX starts to move, but in reverse, which we quickly stop with the service brake, then we shift into forward and drive off ... did I mention that we back into our garage?
I may already have confessed that we are heavy parking brake users ... every time we park the vehicle, even if just temporarily while we step out of the vehicle to get the mail, etc. We use the parking brake so much that the cable stretches and every year our dealership has to re-tension.
Suddenly all these lights came on in a 2012 Elantra . Had at the dealer and they checked wheel speed sensors, wiring to sensors and said all those are ok and the abs module is bad. I replaced the module, bled the brakes and the exact same lights are still on with the same codes coming up. Tech is confused as I am.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2013 elantra limited with the tech package. Today I discovered that my parking lights or headlamps stay on after the car is turned off and the vehicle is armed. The interior blue lighting ( gear selection, push start ignition button, a/c selections, Eco button etc. ) stays on as well. I checked the fuses, but couldn't find anything that pertains to the parking lamps.
I usually run my lights in the drl or headlights position as I lost the auto feature when I installed my H.I.D's. And they usually shut off after a good 15 seconds.
I installed a powered compact subwoofer today and initially wired it to the same battery terminal as the H.I.D.'s but now have switched to another terminal.
I have a 2006 Prius that I've had since 2012. The parking brake light was intermittently having a hard time turning off every time I disengaged the brake and became more inconsistent until finally, now, for about 6 months the light has just remained on the entire time, regardless of whether or not the brake was engaged.
Just to clarify the brake is still fully functional and will prevent the car from rolling when engaged.
I recently failed my inspection because of the light. The mechanics of the brake are fine, but the light wont turn off. They quoted me around $1,000 to fix due to them having to rip out the whole dash to get to the parking brake assembly (8 hours of labor).
However, is there any way to access the pedal to do the repairs without having to take the interior of the car apart? I've also heard that it could mean my brake fluid is low? But they didn't mention that during the inspection.
Noticed this evening that my parking lights were on in my '01 Elantra. Car has been sitting since Friday evening in my garage. The lights were not on earlier today.
The car did start right up when I turned it on. Went inside to research and an hour later the lights are off again.
Problem accrued since the 2012, after I installed OEM HID headlights. Everything was fine for a month or so, then I found out the left parking/turn lamp isn't working. I checked the bulb and it was OK, however I replaced it for a new one. However it didn't work. So I replaced left bulb from right side and vs versa. Didn't work. Then I replaced headlights on KDM aftermarket one with LED DRL and everything repeats...
However when I put back the halogen headlights, that problem disappeared, looks nothing happened. Now I want to put back my OEM HIDs, but expecting same problem again...what it can be?.
Dealer doesn't know anything, already I have asked him, they just put again a new bulb and thats it. Where and what should I look at first...
I just got this used sc430 I always wanted one but never got the chance to though, the car I got is American spec and I Hove few problems with it.
1- fog lights are always on
2- my mileage gage does not work but the rim is working effectively
3- ABS light always on
4- brake lights always on
5- Air bag lights always on
6- side rear viewing mirrors control not working
7- windows auto option is not working, other wise I can use them normal.
Note I took the car to garage and once connected to the computer, the computer was not able to connect as per as the mechanic if it makes any sense.
I love my car unfortunately I don't know much.
My dashlights (Speedometer, Tach) always remain lit on my 2006 Grand Vitara. Dealer could not find problem. Suggested new dash. Only way to darken dash is to disconnect battery. Car has 10,0000 miles.

What is happening:1) starting the car all instrumental dash lights stayed on and only very slowly cleared. This happened all the time I started the car.2) All red lights (brake, battery, and all doors open) start turning on together quite often.3) And I see a dropping in 'power' voltage. Like my headlights are getting darker. The headlights are also buring out quite often,
I went toan AAA mechanic and they checked the car and found nothing. And he said he did nothing.Since then all instrument dash lights turn off at normal speed.But all the red lights still light regularly. But less than before.This (the red lights lighting) happens more often if A/C in on. Less if the only fan is on. And even less while driving - usually when slowing down.
Any mod that will allow the fog lights to remain on when the high beams get turned on?
View 40 RepliesI have a 2010 blizzard pearl prius 4 and i just got it pre owned with only 39k miles about 2 months ago. I didn't notice this until just now but the first position on the headlight switch does not do anything...its supposed to turn on the little parking light up front and the parking light in the rear as well as the license plate light and the instrument panel lights. Mine does not do any of that until i switch the headlight on all the way. This tells me that my lights are not burned out but that there is a problem with the switch/stalk.
View 3 RepliesI had a question regarding the little lights that are above (I am assuming these are either daytime driving lights or parking lights) the fog lights. Is there anyway to keep these on all the time, or to turn them on/off with a switch? Reason I am asking is the Prius I am looking to buy does not come with fog lights and I notice the light above where the foglight would be is orange. Comparing that to Sylvania's lamp replacement guide for a 2011 prius, I assume that is what they refer to as the "parking light" (The turn signals have a different bulb). I was hoping I could replace that bulb with a clear bulb (instead of orange) and then keep it on all the time with my headlights on/off just to provide a little more light (even if it is negligible).
View 3 RepliesWent to leave for work this morning and released the parking brake and she wouldn't budge. Had to give it quite a bit of gas to finally move, along with a big popping sound. It was cold out, and haven't been using the PB in cold weather lately but did yesterday and this happened. Is there something that needs to be done with the brake? Thought I might have to get towed.
View 1 RepliesIve got a '14 Pip, no new mods all my mods are atlas 6 months old. When I turn on my headlights at night and make sure the dimmer switch, by the fuel tank button, inside the cabin, is dimmed, the headlights work, the front parking lights work, the brake lights work ( WHEN I STEP ON THE PEDAL), but they don't turn on when I just have the parking lights on with out braking. So, to clarify, the parking lights (the two strip that are used as brake lights (led)) they don't turn on. what could it be? Some fuse? I made sure to cycle the column stalk switch a few times, and the dimmer switch a few times. Could removing and reattaching battery fix it? Should I take it to the dealer (~85k miles).

My main lights go off immediately after powering off, but parking lights stay on and never go off. Need to confirm that it should switch all lights off?
View 19 RepliesI have a 2010 prius. I bought the car used a month ago. at the time of purchase both parking lights were on when my headlight is turned on. Now it won't turn on unless I turn on my high beam. Should I take it to Toyota dealer and have them take a look at it. It is certified preowned.
View 4 RepliesAbout 2 months ago my Touareg was rear-ended. I just got it back from the body shop and am finding little things that are not the same and I am wondering if they just need reprogramming or if these could be a bigger issue (going back to the body shop today)?
1. They replaced the entire liftgate, but the rear wiper is not working even though the washer fluid does.
2. The interior lights are on, even though all doors are shut, when the switch is set to the open door setting.
3. There is no beep when I lock my vehicle with the keyfob, but the lights blink.
4. There are no warning beeps for the parking sensors, even though the dash lights up.
I have installed Precision premium LED parking lights (which are the little bulbs right above the headlights) in the place of the standard bulbs which from the factory are 194's. The LED lights occasionally turn off individually or sometimes just one side will go out, but if I turn my lights off and on again they both come back on. Why this is happening or any solutions to fix it? Is it the Bulbs or what because I thought LED draws less power than a standard bulb?
