I have a '14 Elantra with 35k miles. Recently, the oil pressure light has been flickering when turning or braking. I checked the oil level and it's full. I am overdue for an oil change. If it makes a difference, I used to commute to work 35 highway miles one way. I got a new job in my town 2 months ago, so my commute is now 3 min, city-type driving conditions.
View 27 RepliesI have a 2012 hyundai elantra gls 6speed manual. Every time I apply the brake and turn the car makes a ticking noise that appears to come from the front. It happens when I turn either way. I just had the car inspected, but forgot to mention the noise, and they didn't say anything was wrong with the brakes. It only happens with the brake applied. When I let off the brake the noise stops.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2013 Elantra. There is a rubbing type noise in the driver front when braking and turning right. It only rubs(catches) in one spot. Almost like a pulsation, however doesn't pulsate. Hard to describe. Has a new wheel bearing. There are new pads and rotors (two sets of rotors). Took to my Hyundai dealer today. They can't find anything visible. They said only option is to start adjusting/replacing parts as trial and error.
View 3 RepliesGot a set of projectors in and as another member stated, the LED bar flickers when the engine is running, but works perfectly fine when the engine is off. A 2013 owner was able to successfully install the projectors/LED using a shark racing 6-pin to 8-pin adapter. Since my 2014 is already 8-pin, I'm not sure why it's not working. He said that he removed the parking lights; I did so as shown in the video but still the same result. Doesn't look like hyperflash either.?
I have an HID kit with a capacitor coming in tomorrow from Theretrofitsource, but I'm not too sure that this will fix the problem since I don't think the LED's will be directly affected by it (right?).

Not sure it is a problem. In fact i don't think it is, but I noticed it the other day when I felt a slight jerkiness when reversing.
The ECO quickly blinks whenever I hold the break down while not moving, but when I let off the break it doesn't flash. Normal?
I filled all my tires with air, and the light still won't go off. It's winter so I don't know if that comes into play, but all my tires are at 30psi....

View 48 RepliesI have a 2012 Elantra with about 47,000 miles, and I've noticed that the oil pressure light comes on for about 2-3 seconds at startup. It never comes on while idling or driving, and the car runs like a champ. I checked the oil level, and it's good, and I get regular oil changes.
View 14 RepliesSo I got gas 4 days ago and today the check engine light came on afterwards. Went to auto zone to read code and it had to do with the gas pressure being slightly low (gas cap). So I got gas and resealed the gas cap. Well, it's been about 2 days since then and it hasn't gone off. Does it need to be reset or does it take more time?
View 1 RepliesI installed a Morimoto Elite HID system in my car. Testing it out I noticed that while the car is off, but the ignition is on, the lights work flawlessly. Once I started the car up the driver's side light flickers and there's a harsh buzzing noise coming from the relay.
You may be thinking to yourself, "This is an easy one, he just needs a capacitor" ....but the thing is, I also installed a capacitor with it. The power from the stock headlights plugs into a cable that runs through the rubber flange (that fills the hole you make in the back of the housing cap) directly into the capacitor. The output from the capacitor then runs into the relay. I believe this is the correct setup.
Okay I have a 2006 Hyundai Elantra with 56,000 miles. Whenever I have been driving for a while in town and and the car is heated up, I get a clicking/popping noise coming from the front end whenever I reverse, turn the wheel, and then brake.
I've been testing it more but it won't always click or pop when i turn the wheel, but when I push the pedal down to stop it clicks and pops a lot. And then as I turn the wheel back without being on the brake pedal it'll click a little bit more.
Normally this would sound like a suspension problem but the fact that I have to push the pedal down to "activate" the sound has me baffled. And the weird thing is, is sometimes when I'm turning into a parking spot at low speeds it will click just a little bit..
It almost feels like the brake lines are getting tangled up and making sounds. I know that's not the case but I'm trying to describe the sound. It's not the normal pop you would get when a tie rod is going out. It doesn't really sound like its metal on metal. And it doesn't constantly click while reversing or turning like it would if it were the CV axle.
The car stops just fine though.. I'd even say the brakes are pretty touchy. The other issue I have with brake sounds is coming from the back. When I'm slowing down ... at around 15 mph it will click in the back every rotation. It has to be coming from the drum brakes. That doesn't concern me so much as it probably is time for new pads or something in the hardware needs tweaking.
When slowing to a stop and turning to the right, there is a ticking sound (not loud) coming from the front. The ticking rate slows as the wheel slows and continues until almost stopped. Break pedal pressure does not affect the sound. The dealer tech heard the sound on a demo drive but they had no clue what it was and found nothing wrong.
The tech, sitting in the right seat thought the sound was coming from the left side. I hear it coming from the right side. Maybe that means it comes from the middle? I only hear it when coming to a stop. Maybe road noise covers it up at higher speed but I don't know.
Currently at about 38,000 miles.
It's kind of weird, when I turn into a corner that is packed with snow - my traction control light kicks on like it does, but it feels like the brakes are being applied.
View 3 RepliesThe downshifting while braking is very obvious during braking, I can literally feel the gearshifts going down from 5th Gear to 1st as I brake. I have driven a wide range of cars but haven't experienced this earlier. Is there any modification that can be done or added to change this and make it smoother like usual cars?

I found same issues on the Sonata forums but I just wanted to know if we elantra users had the same problems like me. Its annoying & I don't find it normal. What can be done ????
View 3 RepliesI recently purchased a brand new 2013 Hyundai Elantra and I have noticed that I sometimes when I brake fast but not fully slamming on them from going about 60-80km I hear a loud grinding noise. When this happens the roads are dry so I know that it is not caused by slippery or wet roads.
View 279 RepliesWhen I leave the car in the parking space for a couple of days (in cold weather) and then start driving it, I notice that when I brake I hear noises (like thud.. thud...). Eventually as the engine warms up the noise goes away. I can never reproduce this at the dealer as I have to drive half an hour to the dealer and by that time the noise goes away. Should I be concerned?
View 3 RepliesWhile braking at very low spreads (towards the end of a stop), I get squeaking with light pressure braking. Then, yesterday it finally drove me insane. It was a lot louder than normal. Only thing different was that it was alot hotter than usual. It would squeak, as I lift off the brake lightly (while still applying pressure) to inch the car forward in traffic. I had always noticed a faint squeaking, but its now louder than what I grew accustomed to.
The dealership who installed my brakes 9800 miles ago, says there was a glazing, And they can't fix it (polish), because it's drilled rotors.
Its been pretty cold up here and lately i find my car making a creaking sound when i brake coming to complete stop. I talked to a couple other guys in a Hyundai chat, and they said it was the Elantra frame in the cold.
Just wanted to get some others input, anything I can tighten up to make it go away, or bushings?? I am almost positive its not the brakes because i had them checked just before my winter tires went on.
I am new to Hyundai. I just bought a barely used 2011 Elantra GL Sedan - Auto. I notice that the ride is absolutely terrible - especially the rear which has from what I understand torsion bar suspension. (Didn't we stop using those on WWII Jeeps) Anyway I digress.
I notice in city any pot hole is jarring in the front and hoppy in the back. On the highway I feel like the back end gets air any time I hit a moderate pump at speeds above 90kmh (55mph). I noticed what others have noticed too, slight fishtailing or rear vibrations when braking.
Is there an issue that I'm unaware of - is this normal or is there something broken/loose. I push on the rear like I would test a normal suspension and it doesn't bounce more than once but if I hit a bump while driving it bounces three or four times?
Experiencing a noisy engine....especially when braking or coasting to a stop?
