How can I turn off the day time running lights on the car? I turned the light switch to the off button but it still turns on when I drive. How do I go about to turn this off?
View 171 RepliesMy limited has lost it's low beams when the switch is set to head lights but not when set to marker lamps. They still shine at a reduced output then. I've read this may be an issue with the BCM?
View 1 RepliesI was changing my lights to led.. i finished the two lights in the passenger and the driver side and it worked... then I change the light in the vanity mirror, driver side to led but it doesn't turn on.. i switch the led to reverse side.. nothing happen.. I put back the old bulbs still wont turn on... then I tried to open the the two lights.. now they are not working... even the dome lights..

I do a lot of night driving and have learned to live with the dimmer all the way down, though my personal preference is to have it just a little dimmer. My commute makes traffic unpredictable, so I often get to work early (better than too late!), so I like to nap a little in the car until time to drag myself in to the office. When my headlights are off and I'm parked, the dash lights are WAY bright. Is there a way to turn them off, and also have the headlights off too? I need the headlights off (and the silly parking lights that stay on till you set the parking brake). So, simply stated, is there a way to turn everything all the way off while the engine (and heater) stay running?
View 10 RepliesShe called me to inform me that ABS and ESC lights came on and the steering was very loose. I told her to shut off the car and restart to see if it made a difference. She did and now the EPS light has come on along with the other two and she said the steering has now become stiff (power steering it seems). I will be hooking up my OBDII to see if I find any fault codes?
No buttons were pressed by the way. Everything has been working fine for the last 6 months. Only had to bring it in for an unrelated issue recently.
I am new to the world of maintaining my own car. I had an issue this morning when I drove my 2011 Elantra. The car started jerking from time to time while i was driving. So I ended up going back home and swapping cars. Other than a coming up oil change, what could the issue with my car be? I am at about 43k miles.

I noticed every time the fan is on, the a/c appears to be running (as evidenced by cold air, clicking on and off of the air conditioner, draining of the system onto the road after shut down, etc.). Even with the a/c light off, it's clearly running. Could it be the switch or relay?
I am missing something on my 2009 ls460l. I'm trying to turn off my day running lights when driving. Is this full time or am I not looking in the right place.

View 4 RepliesI'm at 47000 miles. Out of no where the fan began to run and its been running most of the time when i turn on the engine.
There's no CEL, engine temp gauge is normal at 200. Coolant levels above MIN.
What might be triggering the fans to go on? I'm suspecting it might be coolant thermostat sensor.
Is there anyway to turn off the daytime running lights?

My camper and boat trailer do not have turning signal or brake lights when plugged into the round seven pin trailer connector. I have tried both the connector in the bed and under the bumper. I've also connected the trailers to other trucks and the lights work fine so I know the problem is in my truck.
I Get a humming noise in all my speakers if I have my DTR lights on... Fog lamps don't matter, head lamps don't matter, just the day time running lights make it hum. If I have the lights set to "auto" and it's day time it hums, and if I switch it to day lights it keeps humming. But if I turn on the headlights (day light turns off) or if I turn the headlights off, the humming stops both ways. Fog lamps don't matter at all either. Why I'm getting humming with just the day time running lights??
View 12 RepliesI found out last night that all 3 of my brake lights are out. However, my tail lights work, and my turn-signals work. So obviously its not a big wiring deal. I was looking for the brake switch but i don't know where its at because i looked underneath. What fuse is the brake lights cause my manual doesn't have it listed. I drive a 04 Elantra GLS.

View 5 RepliesI just got my Prius less than a week ago. It's a 2012 Pearl White basic Prius with solar panel sunroof/navigation package. (Canadian). I make sure everything is fully off when I go to turn my car off. I hold down the brake and press the start button for at least 2 seconds and everything turns right off. However, when I go back into my car after a few hours, or the next morning, soon as I open the door I notice the interior fan is running! What the heck? This has been doing this since I got it. Does it just come on automatically when I open my door (annoying) or is this running the entire time I'm not in the car?
View 10 RepliesI have a GLS 2011 and since wednesday my car alarm seems to be working one out of five time. The doors locks but no horn chime and no corner lights flashing.
Checked all the doors and the hood and everything's closed. Also checked with my backup remote and nothing.
Is it possible if Lexus can make it so when the Daytime running lights are on that the tail lights come on? It appears MASS has just passed a law when it is raining and you have your windshield wipers on you have to have your lights on...I leave mine on Auto and have auto windshield wipers so kinda takes away the purpose if I have to turn my lights all the way on each time.

My sunglasses holder on the roof next to the courtesy lights always pops open, especially on hot days.
I suspect the clip that is supposed to keep the holder closed is loose or very weak. I searched online and don't see a recall about this or anything.
