I bought an hid kit for my 2013 elantra a month ago... When I installed them with the relay, I have flickering issues and the relay makes a buzzing noise... How can i fix this???
View 4 RepliesI recently installed a DDM Tuning HID kit. Since then it's always been making a strange sound when I turn the HIDs on (but the lights are working fine).
The relay base is physically vibrating and making a strange sound, see the video below:

What is the problem and how can I fix it? I'm not sure if this is safe or not! I did the install correctly.
I have a new 2015 Elantra GL Manual that seems to have an E-brake that does not feel like it holds the vehicle solidly. I know that the E-brake is probably a small drum brake setup in the rears only but feel like an adjustment can be made to really ratchet that lever up better?
The other issue is a humming, buzzing, vibrating sound in the front passenger side area at hwy speeds. Maybe a vibrating splash shield or rock stuck under the shield?
I was also able to get some new alloy rims for a good price (FAST brand) from the dealer (believe it or not). They aren't the sexiest things to look at but I needed another set of rims anyway to winters and the price was better than plain steelies. I'll probably use the OEM steels for winter now and alloys for summer. The alloys are a little wider at 7 inches than the OEM 6.5 inches and much lighter. I plan on getting Michelin X-Ice soon.
2000 f350 interior buzzing noise opened the door went away, shut the door after a little while came back. Then notice the dome light flickering, took the dome light bulb out it completely stopped?
View 1 RepliesToday was the first day I drove my Elantra on the interstate with the sunroof open. When I was cruising at 65-70mph, I kept hearing a noise that I thought was coming from another car. It sort of sounded like a popping or thumping noise. After a few minutes, I reached my hand up and noticed the sound was coming from the metal bar that rises up a little at the front of the opening when the glass slides back. The wind was vibrating it and making it flap in the wind.
View 2 RepliesRecently I overhauled the engine put new rod bearing and had it bored and honed. As well as new pistons. when i first started it, it ran fairly good except for the tappets making noise but i thought this was normal. after 40 miles the tappets were still making noise and the oil light began flickering. I replaced the oil pan o rings with no luck. i also took the pump apart to check that and still nothing. I have a feeling a main bearing might have been put in the wrong spot. What should i do next to confirm this? what should i do from this point on?
View 4 RepliesSo I swapped out my OEM battery for one straight from Hyundai and during the first night time drive, I immediately noticed a very severe flicker with the lights (headlights, interior and trunk) when idling that was definitely not there with the original battery. I have already done the ground strap mod so I went back and re-cleaned the grounding points and even filed down the grounding post on the new battery itself but the problem remains.
I'm thinking I either got the wrong battery or a bum one and the alternator is only a year or so old.
I got the HID kit from DDM tuning and suffer from issues with them working fine while the car is off but flickering and turning off when I start my car. I just got the error code eliminators to see if it eliminates the problem. The ECE's need to be plugged in correctly or else they can "pop" and be useless. How to tell the polarity of the wiring harness for the headlights?
View 6 Repliesok, here's the story about my brake change on a 2012 elantra GLS. I changed my pads and rotors myself, he has done many brake jobs with little to no problems over he years. anyway, changed them on all four wheels and now on the drivers side there is a slight noise that happens sometimes. The noise happens once very rotation of the tire/rotor, not a constant noise. it sounds almost like the pads are hitting the rotor at a certain point and making a grind noise. the brakes seems to function properly and the noise happens only when rolling at slow speeds or when accelerating from a stop.
I have done everything properly, even used some caliper glue to hold the pads against the caliper. what my question is, is there anyway that the rotor is warped from the manufacturer? it sounds like it is warped and the pads hit it once every rotation. I have opened them up 3 times now to make sure everything is proper, even put it in drive jacked up with no wheel on it to see if its running smooth, of course it wont make the noise when jacked up.

Has done this off & on for a few years and am tired of it! Noise is kind of a buzzing that seems to come from the flasher/turn signal relay. It stops buzzing when you turn on a turn signal, activate the flashers, or lift up on the shifter arm(?). Had to drive home yesterday with the flashers on! So I see from researching that it may actually be the multi-funtion switch on the steering column. So I removed that, cleaned up all the contacts, and put it back on and the buzzing did not go away.

The turn signal (left or right), it would make a buzzing noise, so I located the relay under the steering wheel (by putting my hand on it and seeing which one was buzzing) and replaced it, I bought a replacement at Schucks, then the buzzing noise went away, and the clicking noise is back.
But.... I don't see the turn signal lights in the dashboard and the turn lights are not working, I checked, what could be the problem ? I read the owners manual, in the fuse box under the steering wheel, fuze #18 is used for turn lights, but it is not blown.
I got my 6k HIDS installed yesterday but for some reason they start flickering every time I hit a bump but they stop flickering once the car is stable or just idling on a light. I think the lights flicker because the ballasts are screwed to one of the existing screws on the car and they kind of dangle and nothing else makes it stable which makes my lights flicker. Question is, where did everyone install their ballast or the best place to put them so they wont vibrate?
View 7 RepliesSo I have a 2012 Elantra Limited. From what I understand the power steering is no hydraulics and is only electric assist. So I have a strange problem. I can remember in previous cars when a power steering pump was going bad it made a whining type noise that changed with engine speed. My Elantra is making the same type of noise. I'm trying to track this down. My car doesn't have any other symptoms aside from the noise. It's hard to really tell but it does appear to be coming from the belt side of the motor (passenger side).

It only makes this noise while in drive or reverse but when parked the noise goes away. My car runs perfectly normal but doesn't seem to "sound" as if it did. Its a 2000 lincoln ls. V8 4d sedan....
View 7 RepliesMy climatic A/C system is making a buzzing noise when I press the recirc button. After I press the button it sounds like the recirc flaps are trying to actuate but are broken or the motor is not working. It makes two different distinct noises when going into recirc and out of recirc. How hard this is to fix since I'm sure it is located in the dash.
View 5 RepliesI have 2003 Toyota corolla. Recently one of the relay from the fuse box under the steering wheel started making clicking noise. I got it fixed from my mechanic by replacing it twice. When my mechanic checked for codes, he found that there was some problem with igniter circuit and car's motor is not able to generate enough power. I have observed that whenever I try turning on the heater, the relay also starts making clicking noise. I got it diagnosed from a professional auto electrician but he was also not able to find the fault and now the check engine is on all the time and flashes some time. I don't know how to fix my car.
View 19 RepliesYesterday I noticed the rear driver's side speaker buzzing in my GTI S. Is it possible that I already have a blown speaker (I don't usually crank the system)? Maybe it has something to do with the -5 temps? Anyway, should I take it to the dealer or see about getting some aftermarket speakers since the S sound system is pretty mediocre?

View 7 RepliesMy 1994 Acura Integra makes a buzzing noise exactly between 3000 and 3500 RPMS. It sounds kind of like the sound a circular saw would make cutting wood. It only happens when I am accelerating through that range. Also, sometimes after driving for a while, it doesn't last as long and the noise stops around 3300 RPMS. I've checked the heat shield and it seems to be fine so I don't think its that. What this could be caused by?
View 3 RepliesMy 2002 outback tape deck, which I use primarily to listen to my phone via a cassette adaptor, has recently started making a very loud buzzing/humming noise. It does this with both my old and a new adaptor, as well as a standard audio tape.
I could try using a head cleaner on the tape deck, but my impression is that this isn't what typically would happen if the head needs cleaning, and I don't particular want to waste the time and money on a solution that I'm pretty sure isn't going to work, but I'm asking you all in case you know better than me (a real possibility). I just don't know if I should try that first, or if I should just go out and purchase a new car stereo that has either blue tooth, or an audio input plug so I can directly plug the phone in that way.
Also if I do go the way of replacing the stereo, is that generally a straightforward process? And would most replacement stereos be compatible with my vehicle, or do I need to be selective?
