So I was looking around...I'd like to upgrade my headlights to Silverstars, PLUS change my amber turn signals out to white. Is this as easy as the 11-14's, or because I have different headlights, do I have to pull the entire assembly out?

I got extended maintenance warranty to 100k miles, but bulbs, I don't think so. I just noticed today that both were out on low beam, high beam are fine. Should I take car to dealer? or is this something I can do myself?
View 3 RepliesI finally purchased an RX30 for my wife. The Halogen headlight isn't all that bad, but I am used to drive with HID. Therefore, I am buying HID kits for my RX350 Headlight. Whenever it is shipped to me, I will take pictures of the progress.
1/ Link to buy HID kits, OEM is 55W (no need for extra Hardnes) and 6000k is common factory color.
This will come with everything needed to convert your light bulbs into HID white colors. For more Colors please check out the guide on the website.
I recommend this site, because I have used it, purchased it, and have had no problem with it so far.
2/ According to Manual Book
****Low Beam is H11****
Fog Lights is *****H11*****
****High Beam is H9*****
**** 55W *****
3/ The installation should be Relatively Easy
--Take off engine plastic cover on both side--
--Access the Light Bulb--
--Use the OEM Plugs into the Ballasts input of the HID KID--
--Mount the Ballasts at a convenience locations, I had great success with Plastic ties--
--There is a Plugs output from the Ballast, Plug it into the HID Bulbs--
*****If the lights don't turn on after installation, try to switch Polary, or turn the original plugs around
****** Halogen doesn't care about Polary, but HID Ballast does.
--Install the HID Bulbs the same as regular Halogen Bulb--
--Check the HID carefully, make sure that both will work--
First time Installer common trouble shoots.
1/ Only 1 light is working......Switching the bulbs, or Polary will solve your problem
2/ Lights common for a short time then turn off, until engine restart......You will need the Hardness Relay, which should not occur in our car. The factory hardness is good for 55W
3/ Bulb Visually contain Contaminants, or White particle inside.......HID Bulbs has Special Salt in it, which is required for a longer life in the Bulbs. This is the way the bulbs are.
I traded in my 2009 Sonata for a 2012 Elantra Ltd recently and I have had an issue with the headlights, Both of them are constantly fogging up on the inside, Anytime there is rain, even light rain the headlights fog up. Especially when I wash the car, I was thinking about taking my car into the dealer and having them repair or provide me with new headlights.
I have read that the headlights are vented on the back but this does not make sense for them to leak like this.
I have a 2013 Hyundai elantra GLS. I have a HID kit with a relay kit installed. It's been working just fine for 2 years now (2 years as of may) with no problems.
About two weeks ago my lights (hid low beams) wouldn't turn on right away. It would take multiple tries to get the lights to turn on. So I friend the usual methods....replacing the bulbs,replacing the ballasts,still the same issue.
So as of last night the passenger side light went out completely. I put in a new bulb,new ballast and still nothing. I bought a new relay kit (harness) and replaced it all and it still won't cut on the passenger side bulb!!!
So I went to check the fuses and there's no where in the fuse panel where it says low beams or headlights!! After reading I'm hearing it's in the smart junction box. In there is there a specific fuse for the right headlight? Do I need to replace the whole smart junction box? Where is the smart junction box?
I went to replace a headlight bulb and now I lost electric in the cab. I have no interior lights, no power window or door locks, turn the key on, no crank, no cluster, no radio, no chimes, the upfitter switches work, the mirrors power fold and telescope. Have power to both fuse boxes and battery is fully charged.

View 18 RepliesI got my battery replaced Monday evening and drove it home. Tuesday it drove fine, and Wednesday afternoon the power steering went out on the road and the car pretty much died after I was able to pull into a neighborhood. Before it died all the warning lights kept flashing and a bunch of other stuff on the dashboard was going crazy.
The AAA tech came and did a reading on the battery and told me it was dead, and also noticed there was a mark on one of the terminals which he said was the result of someone trying to jump it (whether incorrectly or not, I'm not sure). All the settings in my car were also reset after I got the car back Monday night.
Anyways, I got the car taken to a dealership and they are telling me the alternator fuse is done and needs to be replaced, upon which they will do another check and make sure the alternator itself is working properly.
My question is, is this the result of the battery being put in improperly/incorrectly?
I had my E in for service today to get her fluids changed and to replace her engine oil with Synthetic finally (second service for her).
I had noticed a rattle in the undercarriage for a few weeks now and assumed it was a common TSB for a heat shield that rattles. As it turns out, it is the resonator pipe that needs to be replaced (under warranty). I've never had to replace one before so hopefully it's just a one-off!
Otherwise, I can already tell she's happy to be filled with some wonderful Synthetic...
How to change my map light bulbs over the front seat of my new (to me) 2010 F250 King Ranch with a sunroof. I have tried to remove the whole assembly with a plastic trim tool with no success. I have pulled as hard as I dare and figure there must be a procedure I am missing. It appears to me that the whole assembly has to be pulled down.
View 6 RepliesI have an '06 Toyota Avalon XL and I bought some Silver Star 9006 bulbs at AZ the other night, but when I got back home, pulled into the garage and popped the hood, I was amazed at how much of a PITA it looked to remove the low-beam bulb, especially on the driver's side. I'd hate to take it to the dealer just to get the frickin headlight bulbs changed.
View 2 RepliesMy headlights suffered from the dreaded condensation problem. I brought them to Lexus after getting the warranty enhancement paperwork and had them replaced. Shortly after the passenger side wheel cover was ripped off after getting caught on some ice during a storm. It was very shortly after that that condensation begin appearing in my passenger side headlight.
At that point I was unaware that the wheel well cover had been ripped off. I brought it back to Lexus to have it looked at since I only had the headlight replaced a few weeks before. I was told it would be at a cost of $2,500 to replace with an additional $400 for the wheel well cover. Needless to say, I did not have the work done that day. While I was waiting them for them to finish the paperwork I bought the wheel well cover for $50 online but since then I've had difficulty locating the headlight.
I brought it to my mechanic and he was unable to find the headlight as well. I have a 2009 rx350 with HID AFS headlights. I have looked on ebay, Amazon and just through the internet to see what I could find but I'm finding only halogen headlights. Most of what I'm seeing on eBay are for non-adaptive lights that are damaged.
I'm trying to replace my dads 2007 Camry XLE japan built headlight assembly because his are insanely oxidized. Besides OEM's and CAPA's, what else are there? Any good aftermarket headlight assembly and achieve great results?

I noticed in some forum that "Sylvania 9005SU SilverStar Ultra High Performance Headlight Bulbs" is good, but it has short life of less than 1 year.
2008 Santa Fe. Removed 2 bolts and 1 nut as shown in manual. cleared the clip at the bottom outboard corner. What else am I missing? I'm still Unable to remove the headlight bucket. It will only come out about an inch or so then feels like something else is holding on.
View 8 RepliesEncountered a problem with the headlights. I had to replace my driver side headlight. It worked great for a few weeks until the low beam just died out. It seemed as if the connector that holds the bulb got fried. I took it to the dealership and they replaced it for free. I believe they changed the socket inside the headlight piece because it was burnt. It worked great for two weeks until it just started acting up again. If I try to nudge the socket that holds the bulb i can get it back on, but once I let go it just dies out again. What can cause this? I even switched the bulbs and bulb holders between the two headlights. It worked briefly but once I hit a large bump it moved around and just died again. Now I cant even get it to click back in place. It only lights up if I shake the socket around but doesn't stay lit without support.
View 24 RepliesI bought a brand new '16 Elantra a little over a month ago and I love it but I've been noticing a tapping feeling under the floorboard and can't seem to figure it out... Not much of a sound is present but when my feet are on the pedals and on the little left foot rest piece, I can feel a sort of "tapping" in my feet... It only comes when the wheels are turning, nothing during idle... It's brand new so I don't see anything being terribly wrong but it's annoying and wanna see what it could be? I've taken it by the dealership and they can't seem to find anything... They checked the suspension and drivetrain but said it was all fine... Also, it happens more on a rougher kind of road, but not so much on a new, smooth paved road...

Anyways, after 2000 miles my ankle has begun to hurt due to the height difference between the gas and brake. Is there any way to lower the brake closer to the floor to make them a bit more even?
